Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Church of Christ with Mike Marsalis of Waynoka, Okla., officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery at Amarillo. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Medart was born in Killeen. He attended high school in Amarillo and also attended West Texas State College. He married Jonnie L. Crawford in 1945 at Amarillo. They moved to Amarillo in 1960. Mr. Medart was assistant postmaster and postmaster. After he retired from the U.S. Postal Service, he worked part time for Quanah Oil Mill. He was a member and deacon at Quanah Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Linda Showers of Rowlett, Elaine Smith of Encinitas, Calif., and Patti Duncan of Rockwall; a brother, Erwin Medart of West Fork, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. May Blanche Wilson PAMPA - May Blanche Wilson, 87, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Palmer, pastor of The Carpenter's Church, and the Rev. Jim Sinyard, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born in Marysville and had been a longtime resident of Pampa. She married Frank W. Wilson in 1931 at Gainesville. He died in 1982. Mrs. Wilson was a retired school teacher. She taught private painting lessons for many years. She attended The Carpenter's Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Craft of Denver; a sister, Bonnie Goodwin of Amarillo; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. The casket will be open for viewing until 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Rosalie Stengel FRIONA - Rosalie "Rustie'' Stengel, 71, died Thursday, June 26, 1997. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford by the Rev. Edward Kierian of Bovina. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford. Mrs. Stengel was born in White Deer. She had lived in Deaf Smith County for 58 years. She married Albert "Bud'' Stengel in 1948 at Hereford. Mrs. Stengel was a homemaker and had been employed by John McClain Insurance and JC Penney. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Hereford, the Order of Martha, the Christian Mothers and the Antonian Circle. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Philip Stengel and Charlie Stengel, both of Hereford; a daughter, Linda Adams of Bard, N.M.; a brother, Tony Urbanczyk of Hereford; five sisters, Theresa Kotara of White Deer, Ethel Stengel of Wisconsin, and Irene Dzuik, Edna Reinart, and Leona Mazarek, all of Hereford; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Amarillo Helen L. Takacs Helen L. Takacs, 73, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Dr. G.A. Roach, director of pastoral care at Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Takacs was born in Anadarko, Okla. She married John Takacs in 1944 at San Antonio. She was a homemaker and a member of the Women of the Moose No. 1150 and of San Jacinto Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Al Wilson of Amarillo and Jeff Wilson of Slaton; four sisters, Bernadeane Figgins, Frances Morrison and Pat Smith, all of Amarillo, and Betty Hughes of Borger. John S. Griffith John S. Griffith, 65, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. No services are scheduled. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Griffith was born in McLean. He moved to Amarillo 10 years ago from Tucson, Ariz. He was a drilling superintendent for Phillips Petroleum for 20 years. Survivors include a son, Mark Griffith of Lafayette, La.; and two grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. Joseph Louis Weeks Jr. Joseph Louis Weeks Jr., 55, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Zion Canaan Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C., with the Rev. M.C. Fennell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Columbia by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes. Mr. Weeks was born in Columbia and attended school there. He graduated and then attended college for two years. He joined the Marines during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his mother, Wilhelmenia Weeks of Columbia; a brother, Phillips A. Weeks of Columbia; and two sisters, Carolina Gamble of Clarksville and Pamela Graves of Philadelphia. Edwin Leo Strom Edwin Leo Strom, 65, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 26, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Strom was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Amarillo 35 years ago from Canada. He worked as a truck driver for Baldwin Trucking for more than 15 years. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Saucier of Amarillo; two sons, Tim Strom of Amarillo and Pete Strom of Plainview; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Clyde A. Stevens Clyde A. Stevens, 84, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 26, 1997. Graveside services will be Monday in Rosewood Park Cemetery at Humble. Mr. Stevens had lived in Amarillo for 10 years. He was a former resident of Livingston. He retired as a first-line supervisor for Exxon in Baytown after 35 years of service. He was instrumental in the beginning of the Exxon rubber plant in 1944. He was a deacon at Central Baptist Church in Baytown for 25 years. Mr. Stevens married Ida Mauguerite Kimmeleman 62 years ago in Humble. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Jan Huey and Donna Schilling, both of Amarillo, Jackie Eaton of Baytown and Wendy Stevens of Houston; a sister, Catherine Berryhill of Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Ray Flake Ray Flake, 83, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 26, 1997. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Flake was born in Rock Dale. He moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Portales, N.M. He married Thalen Ruth Meredith in 1934. Mr. Flake retired from the city of Amarillo street department in 1978. He was a member and former deacon at Washington Avenue Christian Church and a member of the Fellowship Class. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Francine Marinich of Orland Park, Ill., Jerry Ricci of Amarillo and Kathy Sutherlin of Hurst; a son, Jack Flake of Timbercreek Canyon; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Rev. Daniel M. Balizan officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Saenz was born in Los Fresnos Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Primitivo Saenz in 1962 at Los Fresnos Ojinaga. They moved to Clovis in 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Elva Chaves and Estela Saenz, both of Clovis; three sons, Albert Saenz of Midland, Texas, and Alvaro Saenz and Eddie Saenz, both of Clovis; five sisters, Lydia Pineda and Lucy Hernandez, both of Clovis, and Romelia Lujan of Pecos, Maria Frank of Dallas and Susana Mora, all of Subblet, Kan.; four brothers, Agustin Tarango of Nebraska, Jesus Apodaca of Presidio, and Rodolfo Apodaca and Rojelio Apodaca, both of Clovis; and two grandchildren. Estefanita M. Baca CLOVIS, N.M. - Estefanita M. Baca, 75, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in The Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in The Chapel with the Rev. Pete Jaramillo, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Baca was born in Tucumcari and moved to Clovis in 1931. She married George Eloy Baca in 1935 at Clovis. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary E. Baca and Albenita Baca. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 3015. She also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 25. Survivors include nine daughters, Dolores Trujillo Solano, Doris Betancourt, Lucy Mondragon, Alice Depoto, Frances Apodaca, Georgia Lucero, Agnes Baca Crisp and Yolanda Locra, all of Clovis, and Kathy Ann Diaz of Austin, Texas; five sons, Leonard Baca, George Baca, Cenaro Baca and Clarence Baca, all of Clovis, and Anthony Baca of Edgewood; two sisters, Rosie Fadilla of Clovis and Ophelia Martinez of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Genaro Montano of Troy, Mich.; 31 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1400 W. Grand in Clovis. Oklahoma Harold Vance Collier GUYMON, Okla. - Harold Vance Collier, 60, died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Oslo Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Oslo Lutheran Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Collier was born in Guymon. He attended school in Gruver, Texas, and Spearman, Texas. In 1983, he moved from Gruver to Durant, where he was engaged in farming and ranching. He owned and operated Collier Refrigerated Trucking in Durant. He was a Navy veteran and a member of Oslo Lutheran Church. Survivors include four daughters, Sherry Phillips of Monterey, Calif., and Mary Kay Kuykendall, Donna Gruebbel and Connie Barbaree, all of Guymon; four sons, Perry Collier of Durrant, James Ray Collier of Guymon, and Carlton Collier and Mitchell Collier, both of Caddo, Okla.; two brothers; and 13 grandchildren.
