Jasper SILVERTON - Alva C. "Putt" Jasper, 73, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rock Creek Church of Christ with J.D. Nance, minister, and the Rev. Edwin Norris of Silverton officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Jasper was born in Briscoe County. He married Nelda Stark in 1943. He retired as a farmer and rancher in 1986. He was a member of Rock Creek Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vici Baird of Silverton; two sons, Micki Jasper of Plainview and Billy Nye of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mike Wooldridge Sr. McLEAN - Mike Wooldridge Sr., 44, died Monday, March 24, 1997. No services are scheduled. Cremation was by Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo. Arrangements were by Wright Funeral Directors in Shamrock. Mr. Wooldridge had lived in the McLean area for many years. He married Colleen Kroh in 1994 at Bullhead City, Ariz. He served in the Army. Wilbur A. Baggs FRITCH - Wilbur A. Baggs, 77, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Borger with the Rev. Sherman Eastland officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Baggs was born in May, Okla. He had been a Fritch resident since 1984, moving from the Phillips Sneed Camp. He was a mechanic for Phillips before retiring after 39 years of service. He was a tech sergeant in the Army in Europe and Germany during World War II. He was a member of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge. He married Elvie Melton in 1941 at Chickasha, Okla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha Elinor Baggs, in 1950. Jay Washington TULIA - Jay Washington, 68, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Washington was born in Flomot. He grew up in Flomot and Springlake-Earth. He graduated from Springlake-Earth High School in 1948. He moved to Swisher County in 1948 and joined the Navy in 1951. He was the caretaker of Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia and a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Bernice Hinsley in 1954 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pam Wilks of Tulia; two sons, Buddy Washington and Bruce Washington, both of Tulia; a sister, Peggy Dannecker of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three brothers, P.A. Oklahoma Ellen Matilda Jacobson STILLWATER, Okla. - Ellen Matilda Ryding Jacobson, 88, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Jacobson was born in Lista, Sodermanland, Sweden. She married Sixten Wilhelm Jacobson in 1934. They had lived in Stillwater since 1977. Her husband died in 1982. After serving in the Swedish army during World War II, she and her husband owned and operated a ski lodge in Lofstalen. They immigrated to the United States in 1959 and lived in Amarillo, where they owned and operated a motel and restaurant. In 1970, they moved to Lake Tahoe, Calif., and operated a ski lodge until retiring and moving to Stillwater. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Vasa Order. Survivors include a son, Bert Jacobson of Stillwater; and two granddaughters. Amarillo Montie R. Bunch Montie R. Bunch, 77, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 24, 1997. She was active in the GAs and Acteens in her church. She was in her second year at Mary Hardin Baylor University at Belton. Demotis Sherman Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Garden of Memories by Hornsby-Murcherson Funeral Home. Mr. Sneed was born in Austin. His family moved to Lorena, where he attended school. He moved to Amarillo in the late 1920s. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railway in Amarillo before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church. He moved to Temple about 10 years ago. Survivors include a sister, Berline Knox of Temple.
