Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Hanson was born in Thomaston, Ga. He served in the military during the Korean War. He retired as a machinist from McDonnell-Douglas Aerospace Corp. He moved to Amarillo three years ago. He married Yoshiye Mae Endow in 1953 at Beverly Hills, Calif. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregory Hanson and David R. Hanson, both of Lakewood, Calif.; three daughters, Sonia Welton of Fountain Valley, Calif., Sheri Hanson of Garden Grove, Calif., and Susan Miller of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Laverne Newman of Thomaston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The body will not be available for viewing. Jeremy Painter Jeremy Painter, 20, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, in Austin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy S. Wheeler, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery at Plainview. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Painter was born in Plainview and lived there for 12 years before moving to Amarillo eight years ago. He attended Bonham Middle School and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1995. At Amarillo High School, he was a member of the wrestling team. At the time of his death, he was completing the EMT Paramedic Program at Amarillo College, where he was vice president of the Paramedic Students Association. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Joyce Kaylene and Jerry Hazel of the home; his father and stepmother, Brian Lynn and LaNell Painter of Plainview; a sister, Kassidi Painter of the home; three brothers, Tyler Painter of Amarillo, and Devon Painter and Dillon Painter, both of Edmonson; grandparents, W.R. and Joyce Churchwell of Plainview, and Albert and Mittie Lee Painter of Edmonson; and great-grandmother, Florence Dillahunty of Lubbock. The family requests memorials be to the Paramedic Student Association at Amarillo College. Eva Robertson Metcalf Eva Robertson Metcalf, 95, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Christian Church with Dr. John B. Bridwell, minister emeritus, Dr. Herb Miller and Dr. Ron Sumpter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Metcalf was born in New Hope, Dallas County. She had lived in Amarillo since 1936. She graduated from Mesquite High School in 1917 and received her bachelor of science degree from West Texas State University in Canyon. She taught at Mesquite, Plainview and Hutchinson County from 1923 to 1933. She was the accountant and office manager for the Whittenburg office in Amarillo from 1937 to 1975, when she retired. Mrs. Metcalf was a member of First Christian Church. She served as treasurer of the Hi-Plains Area of the Christian Church in the Southwest from 1975 to 1990. She served as treasurer of First Christian Church of Amarillo from 1978 to 1988. She married James M. Metcalf in 1925 at Mesquite. He died in 1965. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jim L. Metcalf. Survivors include three nieces, Patricia Fuhrback of Amarillo, Nancy Fagin of San Antonio and Rosemary Olvey of Honolulu; and a nephew, Daniel L. Robertson Jr. of Austin. Sarah Jane Bandy Sarah Jane Bandy, 91, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Dean Wynn, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bandy was born in Calhoun, Tenn., and had lived in Amarillo since 1947. She operated Lon's Grocery and Market on Sixth Avenue from 1947 to 1955. She also was a day nursery supervisor for Amarillo Day Nursery and Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a member of San Jacinto Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Bandy. Survivors include two sons, J.E. Bandy of Amarillo and the Rev. Thomas A. Bandy of Colby, Kan.; two daughters, Willadean Miller of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, and Opal E. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Women's Birthday Club of Lake Tanglewood. She was Episcopalian and was an associate member of Lake Tanglewood Community Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Steven Robert Dodgen, in 1996. Survivors include her husband, G. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Guthrie Community Center with Willard Moody officiating. Burial will be in Guthrie Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home in Paducah. Judge McLaury was born in Stonewall County. He had been the King County judge since February. He was a longtime cowboy at several ranches, including the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie and Borger, the F Cross Ranch in Paducah, the Bob Macy Ranch in Post, the Beggs Ranch in Post and the U Lazy S Ranch in Post. He was a member of First Christian Church in Paducah, the Working Ranch Cowboy's Association and the Texas County Judges Association. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, Buster McLaury of Benjamin; two daughters, Mayme Pierce of Weatherford and Tracy Holly of Irving; a brother, Roy McLaury of Borger; and four grandchildren. Area Emma Cargill PAMPA - Emma Cargill, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Arrington, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cargill was born in Osage, Okla., and had been a resident of Pampa since 1942. She was a sales clerk for Montgomery Ward. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Homebound Sunday School Department. She married Frank O. Cargill in 1943 at Pampa. He died in 1978. Survivors include two sons, Hershall Orndoff of Lakewood, Colo., and Conrad Orndoff of Pueblo, Colo.; a daughter, Wynona Seely of Pampa; a sister, Minnie Irwin of Hammon, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Swopes, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Aalbers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mrs. Swopes was born in Hart. She married Sam A. Swopes in 1928 at Olton. They farmed and raised sheep south of Hart until 1960, when they moved to Vinita, Okla. Mr. Swopes died in February of 1985. She also was preceded in death by a son, Truman Swopes, in 1975. Mrs. Swopes returned to Hart in June of 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church and attended the Ester Sunday School class. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Jones of Hart; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the Jones farm south of Hart on Highway 168. She worked as a restaurant hostess and attended Key Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Bob Tate of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Pat Lee of Mustang, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Clem Gibson Flowers PERRYTON - Clem Gibson Flowers, 86, a former Perryton resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Ochiltree Cemetery. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Latham officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Flowers was born in Perryton and lived in the Perryton area most of his life. He had lived in Amarillo for five years. He was a farmer and a rancher and had served on the Ochiltree County Soil Conservation Board. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Perryton. He married Nedra Lott in 1933 at Perryton. She died in 1993. He also was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Flowers. Survivors include three daughters, Dorlea Hoover of Perryton, Barbara Elder of Sweetwater and Peggy Bruckner of Amarillo; a sister, Lottie Portwood of Perryton; a brother, Travis Flowers of Perryton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vanneman was born in Linden. She had been a resident of Pomona for the past 31 years. She was a crossing guard at Decker School Phillips Ranch for six years. She was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church in Pomona. She married George Vanneman in 1980 at Pomona. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Randy Vanneman of Adelanto, Calif., and George Vanneman of Ontario, Calif.; two daughters, Marie Landin and Lori Vanneman, both of Pomona; her mother, Laura Stradley of Springlake; two brothers, Robert Conner and A.L. Conner, both of Springlake; two sisters, Gaynell Morree of Springlake and Treva Jo Crocker of Howe; and 12 grandchildren. Perry Angel PLAINVIEW - Perry Angel, 89, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Plainview, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Runningwater Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Lawson, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Angel was born in Rising Star. He was raised in Rising Star and Plainview. He lived in Hobbs, N.M., from 1979 to 1989. He lived in Stephenville for a short time before moving to Pensacola in 1993. He married Nila Irene Mitchell in 1930. She died in 1977. He worked in the construction industry for several years. He was Baptist. Survivors include three daughters, Alice Green of Hobbs, Shirley Sechrist of Stephenville and Evelyn Radford of Mesa, Ariz.; six sons, Kennith Angel and Raymond Angel, both of Hobbs, Lawrence Angel of Pensacola, Melvin Angel of San Antonio, Frank Angel of Lampasas and Keith Angel of Huntsville; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Frances McAnally EDMONSON - Frances McAnally, 69, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Kress Methodist Church at Kress with the Rev. Ron Kelley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. McAnally was born in Goree. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1946. She then attended Wayland Baptist University. She worked for Maggard-Nall Motor Co. She was a member of Kress Methodist Church and the Mu Lambda Sorority in Kress. She married Ernest Junior McAnally in 1952 at Floydada. He died in June. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Springer of Kress and Vicki Street of Belton; and four grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Jose Moreno PLAINVIEW - Jose Moreno, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert A. Fadallan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Moreno was born in Pearsall. He moved to Plainview from Robstown in 1966. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion. He retired as a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married his wife, Aurora, in 1940 at Robstown. He was preceded in death by a son, Roberto Moreno. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Yolanda Gamez of Plainview and Hilda Escamilla of Arlington; three sons, Jose Moreno Jr. of Plainview, and Rolando Moreno and Mariano Moreno, both of Garland; a brother, Eulogio Moreno of California; four sisters, Paula Gonzales of McAllen, Juanita Rodriquez of Tell, Mercedes Riojas of Corpus Christi and Jesusa Sanchez of Garland; 25 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel until service time. Perry Franks PLAINVIEW - Perry Franks, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Mr. Franks was born in O'Brian and grew up in Haskell County. He worked on ranches in Stonewall County. He was a pro rodeo calf roper and cutting horse trainer. He retired in 1984 and moved to Plainview. He attended Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Ruby Cowdry of California. Helen Reese DALHART - Helen Elizabeth Johnson Reese, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Vincent Kolb, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Dumas, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Reese was born in Brunswick, Mo. She attended Dalhart High School. She was an active member of the Dalhart community. She owned and operated Johnson's Ready to Wear. She was a member, elder and treasurer of First Presbyterian Church. She also had been the organist there since she was 12. She married Robert Alfred Reese in 1928 at Dalhart. He died in 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Dewees of Stratford and Lorraine Wardell of Dalhart; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church. Clarence L. Nelson DIMMITT - Clarence L. Nelson, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in 4th and Bedford Street Church of Christ with Harry Riggs, Ronnie Parker and King Burney officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson was born in Alexander City, Ala. He lived in Abernathy from 1949 to 1970. He lived in Guymon, Okla., before moving to Dimmitt in 1980. He married Opal Bordofske in 1934 at Altus, Okla. Mr. Nelson was a member of 4th and Bedford Street Church of Christ. He was a past member and president of the Abernathy school board and a past elder and Sunday school teacher at the Church of Christ in Abernathy. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Kent, in 1979. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dan Nelson and Corky Nelson, both of Dimmitt, and Jim Nelson of Lubbock; a daughter, Earlene Myatt of Dimmitt; a brother, Earl Nelson of Quanah; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Children's Home of Lubbock. Ola Fanning EARTH - Ola Fanning, 97, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Earth United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Fanning had lived in Earth for 62 years, moving from Hereford. She was a homemaker and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She married Ruel Fanning in 1919 at Floydada. He died in 1983. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Fanning and O.A. Fanning. Survivors include a son, T.L.
