Viewing will be from 8 a.m to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Directors in Shamrock. No services are scheduled. Cremation will be by Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo. Arrangements were by Wright Funeral Directors in Shamrock. Mr. Wooldridge had lived in the McLean area for many years. He married Colleen Kroh in 1994 at Bull Head City, Ariz. He served in the Army. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Wooldridge Jr. of Amarillo, Scott Wooldridge of Rome, Ga., and James Wooldridge of Roswell, N.M.; a stepson, Ranger Travis Payne of McLean; three daughters, Amanda Reyes and Mariah Wooldridge, both of McLean, and Jennifer Wooldridge of Rolla, Mo.; a grandmother, Lorene Arbuckle of McLean; and three grandchildren. Sondrea Carmen Messing TULIA - Sondrea Carmen Messing, 79, died Wednesday, March 29, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Silverton Cemetery with Trey Morgan of Central Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Messing was raised in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1933. She worked at a radio station before marrying Edward Robert Messing in 1939. He died in 1988. She lived in Port Washington, N.Y., and owned and operated a commercial printing company. After retiring in 1980, she moved to Austin, then to King City, Ore., in 1985. She moved to Beaverton, Ore., in 1988. She was a member of Cedar Mill Baptist Church in Beaverton. Survivors include a son, Dean Messing of Beaverton; her mother, Anne Lee Finch of Dimmitt; two brothers, David Finch of Tulia and Charles Finch of Seminole; and three grandchildren. Mack Noland HEREFORD - Mack Noland, 86, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Hereford, with Mike Sabo, minister of music, officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be by Hereford Masonic Lodge 829 AF&AM Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery at Hereford. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home. Mr. Noland was born in Floydada and had lived in Hereford most of his life. He was a farmer. He married Emma Plunk in 1939 at Clovis. He was a member of the Hereford Masonic Lodge 829 AF&AM, a member of the Lubbock Scottish Rite and a member of the Khiva Shrine Temple. He also was active with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hereford. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janey Allmon of Hereford; three sons, Joe Don Noland and Jay Noland, both of Hereford, and Bill Noland of McAlister, N.M.; a sister, Eva Lookingbill of Summerfield; three brothers, J.B. Noland of Summerfield, Jim Noland of Amarillo, and Otho Noland of Hereford; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at First Baptist Church of Hereford from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today . Woodrow M. Downey BORGER - Woodrow "Woody" M. Downey, 80, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel at Borger, with the Rev. David Jones, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Downey was born in Dewey, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since moving from Drumright, Okla., in 1972. He retired from Arco Oil and Gas in 1981 as a gangpusher. During World War II, he served in the Army with the First Cavalry Division's 8th Cavalry Regiment in the Pacific Theater where he received two Purple Hearts. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, John Downey of Houston, and Jim Downey of Pampa; a daughter, Janice Stanford of Fritch; two sisters, Virginia Starkey and Lillian Foster, both of McPherson, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Waymon Featherston TULIA - Waymon Featherston, 85, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ, with the Rev. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Featherston was born in Everton, Ark. He attended and taught schools in Western Grove, Ark. He moved to Springfield, Mo., in 1931 and graduated from Braums Business College in 1933. He moved to Amarillo in 1934 and worked for International Harvester Implement Co. as district manager until 1942. During World War II, he served in the Army. He moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1946 and operated Auto Finance Co., then moved to Tulia in 1948 where he was an independent International Harvester dealer and a real estate broker for 20 years. He was a member of the Tulia Lions Club and a member of Central Church of Christ. He also was past president of the Tulia school board. Mr. Featherston married Verna Culpepper in 1941 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Featherston of Dallas; a sister, Lois Cook of Harrison, Ark.; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Featherston and Charles Featherston, and a sister, Dale Eiberg. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch or High Plains Children's Home. Herman O. Tritsch LUBBOCK - Herman O. Tritsch, , died Wednesday, March 26, 1997. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in W.W. Rix Chapel, 1901 Broadway, with the Rev. Norman Gipson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bovina Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Tritsch was born in Clovis, N.M., and was a graduate of Bovina High School and Draughon's Business College. He was the office manager for Viking Motor Freight Lines for 40 years. He was an Army veteran and an avid antique collector. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his mother, Laura Tritsch of Bovina; a brother, Virgil G. Tritsch of Bovina; and a sister, Mildred E. Kaufman of Fontana, Calif. Worren Odell Holley FRIONA - Worren Odell Holley, 81, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sixth Street Church of Christ, with D.L. Harguess, minister, officiating. Mr. Holley was born in Hollis, Okla. He married Etoile Combs in 1938 at Memphis. He was a driver for Greyhound Lines for 40 years and received an award for 4 million miles of safe driving from the National Safety Council. Prior to working for the bus company, he was a farmer and also a brakeman for Santa Fe Railway. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He provided many hours of volunteer service for Prairie Acres Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Holley. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Worren Holley of Amarillo, and Stan Holley of Rocklin, Calif.; a daughter, Madelaine Barton of Amarillo; a brother, Duane Holley of Odessa; a sister, Evadena Foster of Channing; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. New Mexico Carvel C. Sims LOGAN, N.M. - Carvel C. "Corky" Sims, 81, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. MST today in First Baptist Church at Logan, with the Rev. Dan Pearce, minister of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Fred Boatman, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home in Tucumcari, N.M. Mr. Sims was born in Vineyard and had moved to Logan from California in 1964. He was a carpenter until he retired in 1994. Mr. Sims was active in First Baptist Church and Logan Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Marie; a daughter, Gay Sims of Tulia; a son, Steve Sims of Artesia, N.M.; two sisters, Bessie Shippard of Bridgeport, and Oleta Carver of Fort Worth; a brother, Theodore Sims of Jacksboro; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Leslie Lynn Oldham TUCUMCARI - Leslie Lynn Oldham, 47, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall in Tucumcari, with the Rev. Brian Branum, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle in Amarillo. Mr. Oldham was born in Tucumcari and had been in Amarillo a short time. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1970. He served in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1973 and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tucumcari. Survivors include his parents, Luke and Ada Oldham of Tucumcari; a daughter, Amber Lynn Oldham of Wichita Falls, Texas; three brothers, Wesley Oldham of Kearny, Ariz., John Price and Tom Oldham, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Jacklynn O'Connell of Roanole, Sharon Ford of Odessa, and Judy Kay McDonald of Springfield, Mo. He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church and a member of Senior Citizens in Portales. After his retirement, he was active in the Foster Grandparents Program with special-education children enrolled at Portales High School. Survivors include his wife, Juaneta Tivis Wall; a son, Mike Wall of Clovis; a daughter, Lyn Moshier of Hobbs; a brother, Tom Wall of Roswell; two sisters, Johnnie Ruth Ray of Burleson, Texas, and Arline Sinor of San Antonio; and four grandchildren. He worked for HBH Construction on the Pipeline. He was an Ace Flight Pilot in the Navy during World War II and received a Navy Cross and a Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Thompson, in 1984. Survivors include a son, David Thompson of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Sandra Moody of Lockney; and his mother, Edna Thompson of Lockney. Clarice Hooten Perkins Clarice Hooten Perkins, 88, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Southwest Church of Christ with associate minister Brent Adams officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Perkins was born in Klondike and moved to Amarillo from Lubbock. She married L.K. Perkins in 1924 at Klondike. She was a homemaker and a member of Southwest Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Claribel Sims of Midland, Madie Williams of Clarendon, Fay Jones of Amarillo and Deborah Payne of Corsicana; three sons, Jimmie Perkins and L.V. Perkins, both of Amarillo, and Johnny Perkins of Ozona; a sister, Lora Henry of Mesquite; a brother, Kenneth Hooten of Klondike; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Rutherford was born in Amarillo and had been a lifelong resident. He married Janice Fitzgerald in 1961 at Tulia. He was an iron worker at Amarillo Iron Works for 18 years, retiring in 1990. From 1991 until February, he and his wife owned and operated Gary's Lock and Key. He was a ham radio operator in the civil defense. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1361 and enjoyed boating and fishing. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Garret Damon Rutherford of Amarillo, and Gary Dean Rutherford II of Fort Worth; two daughters, Vadene Birge of Dallas and Leslie Grinie of Amarillo; a brother, Randall Paul Rutherford of Dallas; a sister, Paulyne Taylor of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bell Avenue Chapel of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Robert Field of Southeast Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Tyler was born in Childress County. She married Clyde King in 1934 at Childress County. He preceded her in death. She married Alvie Tyler in 1953 at Childress County. He died in 1964. She moved to Amarillo in 1967 and graduated from Amarillo College School of Nursing in 1970. She worked for High Plains Baptist Hospital as an LVN from 1971 to her retirement in 1981. She was a Pentecostal. Survivors include: three daughters, Jean Raush and Judy Weatherly of Amarillo, and Joan Pylant of Canyon; a son, Jack King of Amarillo; a brother, Dave Ricks of Childress; a sister, Rose Simmons of Midland; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Robertson was born in Nashville, Tenn., and had been an Amarillo resident for 67 years. He received a Purple Heart while serving in the Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Betty Martin in 1945 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Warren Barton Robertson of Katy; and a stepmother, Jewell Robertson of Amarillo. The family will be at 3409 Bowie St. Naomi D. Williams Naomi Dorcas Williams, 90, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 27, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery, with Dr. David Evans of Trinity Baptist Church, and the Rev. Richard Holloway, minister of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Williams was born in Dallas County and moved to Goodnight in 1912 where she graduated from high school. She moved to Hereford where she and her husband ranched and ran a small general store. She lived in County Line (Abernathy) from 1930 to 1951 when she moved to Amarillo. She was a member of the Women of the Mooses Lodge since 1951 and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, D.O. Williams, who died in 1957, and a daughter, Bobbie Goolsby, who died in 1973. Survivors include two daughters, Ella M. Seaton of San Diego, and Judy A. Daniel of Amarillo; two sons, Billy Jack Williams of Hereford, and Gary Don Williams of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice or a favorite charity.
