A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Francis A. Smyer, pastor. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Crain was born in Battle Creek, Mich. She had been a resident of Amarillo for 49 years. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Harrison Implement Co. from 1952 to 1985. She was a Girl Scout troop leader for five years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She married Charles Ashley Crain in 1946 at Battle Creek. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diantha Steinhilper of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Ortega, 97, of Grand Prairie, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Iglesia Christiana Evangelica with Orlando Vigil officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Ortega was born in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico. She moved to Amarillo in 1922 from Bovina. She was a homemaker and a member of the Disciples of Christ. She married Jose Hijinio Ortega in 1916 at Chihuahua. She was preceded in death by her husband. She also was preceded in death by Ceverina Baca in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Fidel Ortega of Amarillo and Augustine Ortega of San Antonio; three daughters, Francis Sions of Borger, Mary Ortega of Archer City and Juanita Ybarra; a brother, Francisco Madrid of Chihuahua; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1002 Sunrise. Robert B. Brown Robert B. "Bob" Brown, 64, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Brown was born in Waverly, Ohio. He moved to Amarillo in 1958 from Dumas. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. He married Artell Albers in 1957 at Dumas. Mr. Brown was a sheet metal worker for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 49. He worked with maintenance at Motel 6. Survivors include his wife; three sons, David A. Brown and Aric Brown, both of Amarillo, and Robert E. Brown of Atlanta; a daughter, Teresa Bellatty of Canadian; his parents, David A. Brown and Lexie Brown of Waverly; three brothers, Don Brown, Tom Brown and Larry Brown, all of Waverly; two sisters, Zeda Shiveley of Saint Marys, Ohio, and Bertie Walker of Waverly; and six grandchildren. The family will be at 2901 Dunaway St. Letha O. Brown Letha O. Brown, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Tony Morrow officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Brown was born in Groom and had been a longtime Amarillo resident. She was a graduate of Canyon High School. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Herbert R. Brown in 1932 at Claude. He died in 1971. Survivors include three daughters, LaNelle Brown and LaDean Halinski, both of Amarillo, and Elvatine Pacheco of Fort Worth; two sisters, Melva Miller of Spokane, Wash., and M.E. Area Peggy Jean Kennedy CLAUDE - Peggy Jean Kennedy, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Claude with the Rev. Charles Davenport of First Baptist Church of Tulia officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, in Amarillo. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Denver and had been a resident of Claude for 33 years. She was a control clerk for Levi Strauss. She also worked for ValAgra as an inventory control clerk and for Hub Clothiers. She was a homemaker and a member of the 55 Plus Club and First Baptist Church of Claude. She served as an election clerk for Armstrong County for several years. She married John Kennedy in 1946 at Amarillo. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Mack Kennedy in 1952 and Johnny Lee Kennedy in 1989. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Getty Gordan of Claude; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 505 Alamo in Claude. They request memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Bill Eugene Roye PAMPA - Bill Eugene Roye, 65, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ with Don Stone, minister of the White Deer Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Roye was born in Villegreen, Colo. He graduated from Idalou High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving from 1952 to 1956. He also served in the Navy Reserves until 1960. He married Mary Louise Scarbrough in 1955 at Muleshoe. Mr. Roye farmed in the Muleshoe and Kress area for 12 years before moving to Pampa in 1968. He was employed at Cabot Corp. and IRI International Corp. before retiring in 1994. He attended Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Roxanne Jennings and Shonda Meadows, both of Pampa; two sons, Paul Roye and Mark Roye, both of Pampa; two brothers, Frank Roye of Idalou and Charles Roye of Lubbock; a sister, Marilyn Coil of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and nine grandchildren. Harley Nichole Burnett TEXLINE - Harley Nichole Burnett, infant daughter of Billy Ray Burnett and Alisha Stewart, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Texline Cemetery with Ron Ethridge of the Clayton Gospel Center in Clayton, N.M., officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. of Dalhart. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Alexandria Stewart of Texline; a brother, Tanner Burnett of Pampa; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dwaine Stewart, and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Burnett, all of Texline; and great-grandparents, Dan and Rose Marquez of Clayton. Louise King MULESHOE - Louise King, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Brown of the church and the Rev. George Malis of Richland Hills Baptist Church in Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. King was born in Lindsey, Okla. She had lived in Muleshoe since 1938, moving from Lindsey. She was a rural mail carrier and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married J.R. King in 1946 at Muleshoe. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Jimmy King of Idalou, Kenneth King of Muleshoe, Gary King of Springfield, Mo., and Ricky King of Plainview; two sisters, Wanda Jones of Plainview and Margaret Stevens of Muleshoe; two brothers, Bud Gilliland of Moriarty, N.M., and Eddie Gilliland of Roswell, N.M.; and four grandchildren. James O. Pfaff BORGER - James O. "Short" Pfaff, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of Borger, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Graveside rites will be by Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge. Mr. Pfaff was born in Sallisaw, Okla. and had been a Borger area resident for 48 years. He retired as a welder. He was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church in Borger. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355 and a member of the El Paso Scottish Rite. Mr. Pfaff was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia "Jo" Pfaff, in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Rita Anderson of Amarillo; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. It is requested that Masonic lodge members meet at the lodge at 1 p.m.
