Weldon Rives and the Rev. David Purl officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery at Borger. Ms. Shrader was born in Borger and had lived in Amarillo for 35 years. She was an administrative clerk for Hinkle, Cox, Eaton, Coffield and Hensley Law Firm. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Greg Shrader of Fort Worth; her mother, Helen Barbee of Borger; a brother, Gale Barbee of Fort Worth; and a grandchild. The family requests memorials be to St. Andrew United Methodist Church or Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Quator Ashley Quator Ashley, 75, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 24, 1997. Jessie Cortez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ms. Ashley was born in Dubach, La. She attended public school and moved to Amarillo more than 46 years ago. She worked in private homes. Survivors include a brother, Earnest Ashley of Amarillo. The family will be at 1932 N.W. 18th Ave. Marco A. Rush Marco A. Rush, 65, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. There will be no services. Arrangements were by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. Rush worked in the medical field. Causey, 89, of Amarillo, died Monday, April 28, 1997. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in North Beacon Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jerry Thomas, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Causey was born in Paris, Texas, and had lived in Amarillo for 45 years. She was a homemaker and a member of North Beacon Church of the Nazarene. She married William E. Causey in 1924 at Red River County. He died in 1975. She also was preceded in death by a son, Wilburn H. Causey. Survivors include a daughter, Della Leathers of Texarkana; two sons, Sol L. Causey and Billy G. Causey, both of Amarillo; a brother, Edgar Tippit of Clarksville; a sister, Oneida Richardson of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, including Jimmy D. Causey of Commerce; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. Morris Duncan Morris Duncan, 73, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Mr. Duncan was born in Eastland County. He moved to Amarillo in 1952 from Lubbock. He married Kay Harvey in 1958 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deree Duke and Leia Wasson, both of Amarillo; a sister, Glenn Jacob of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Dale F. Miller Dale F. Miller, 80, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Dr. Curtis Crenshaw of The Reformed Episcopal Church of the Covenant officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Miller was born in Altoona, Pa. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Marines during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze and Presidential Citation. Survivors include his wife, Lillise Miller; a son, Jeff Miller of Amarillo; two daughters, Dale Ann Masserant of Denver and Shanon Louise Smallwood of Canon City, Colo.; three sisters, Jean Villa of Belleire, Fla., Josephine Dorsey of Pueblo, Colo., and Ann May Street of Englewood, Colo.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Oklahoma Elsie Alexander ERICK, Okla. - Elsie Alexander, 95, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Sweetwater First Baptist Church at Sweetwater with Ray Smart officiating. Burial was in Mulberry Cemetery. Arrangements were by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander was born in Martha and moved with her parents to the Meridian community. She married Samuel Robert Alexander in 1918 at Sweetwater, where they were farmers. Her husband died in 1955. She also was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Dale Alexander. She lived in Wheeler, Texas, until moving to Amarillo in 1975. In 1985, she moved back to Erick. She was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Nelda Bowers of Levelland; a son, Truman Alexander of Sweetwater; a brother, Neal Stewart of College Station; three sisters, Naomi York of College Station, Elmerine Burnam of Elk City and Mozelle France of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren. New Mexico Margaret Elizabeth Edwards CLOVIS, N.M. - Margaret Elizabeth Edwards, 91, a former Bovina, Texas, resident, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bovina Cemetery at Bovina with the Rev. Gene Hawkins officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Ms. Edwards was born in Anna, Collin County, Texas. She had been a longtime resident of Clovis after moving from Bovina many years ago. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Yhvona Martin of Carson City, Nev., Bobbie Stephens of Clovis and Elizabeth Ann Wonnacott of Maracco, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Central Baptist Church building fund. Pat Peterson CLOVIS, N.M. - Pat Peterson, 61, died Saturday, April 26, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Burwash officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Peterson was born in Littlefield, Texas, and had been a resident of Clovis since 1939. She married Oscar Peterson in 1957 at Farmington. She was a volunteer for 4-H and the PTA. She also helped people with their income tax. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jo Dona Terry of Lazbuddie, Texas, and Jan Templar of Tulia, Texas; a son, James Peterson of Long Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Charles E. Vandervoort CLAYTON, N.M. - Charles E. Vandervoort, 81, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Memorial services will be announced following cremation. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Vandervoort was born in Clayton and had been a lifetime resident of Clayton. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1935. He married Kathryn Hodges in 1935 at Clayton. He built and operated the original Hi Ho in Clayton in 1957. He sold it in 1960. He then built and operated Grand Motors, which was a garage, wrecker service, junk yard and body shop, from 1961 until 1980. Mr. Vandervoort also was a used car dealer and a past member of the Clayton Lions Club. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Vandervoort Jr., in 1937. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nana Lou Pense of Clayton; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. Jessie Freeman PORTALES, N.M. - Jessie Freeman, 90, of Amarillo, a former Portales resident, died Monday, April 28, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Portales Cemetery with Kenneth Broad officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Freeman was born in Durant, Okla., and raised in Oklahoma. She married James E. "Blondie'' Freeman in 1921 at Clinton, Okla. They moved to Elida in 1931 and to Portales in the mid1930s. They made their home in Portales for several years. They then moved to various places in New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma before finally settling in Amarillo. While in Amarillo, Mrs. Freeman worked in photographic studios doing paintings. She lived in Amarillo for nearly 30 years and worked most of that time as a medical records clerk at the Pavilion. She was a member of Central Christian Church. In 1980, Mrs. Freeman returned to Portales. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. Her husband died in 1966. Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Billie Jo and Everett Wheeler of Carlsbad, Bob and Doniece Morgan of Clovis, Phyllis and Jim Vardeman of Portales, and Gayle and Bob Stone of Albuquerque. The family requests memorials be to Central Christian Church. Area Audrey Cummings GROOM - Audrey Cummings, 80, died Tuesday, April 22, 1997. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Panhandle Cemetery at Panhandle. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, in Amarillo. Mrs. Cummings was born in Prentiss County, Miss. She moved to Groom in 1962 from Pantex Village. She married Aaron Cummings in 1934 at Dell, Ark. She worked at Groom Memorial Hospital, Lucky 13 and Golden Spread Grill. She also owned and operated A&A Upholstery and Fix It Shop with her husband until 1977. She was a member of Groom Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Rosa Riggs of Amarillo, Anita Baker of Abilene and Helen Bentley of McKinney; a son, James Cummings of Groom; three sisters, Eula Choate of Panhandle, Corean Thomas of Amarillo and Allie Holder of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Ina Arleta Stanford HEREFORD - Ina Arleta Stanford, 79, died Saturday, April 26, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Gilliland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel with the Rev. H.S. Bartlett, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Stanford was born in Altus, Okla. She moved to Deaf Smith County from Brainerd, Minn., in 1996. She was a nurse's aide in a nursing home and a Church of Christ member. Her husband, Samuel Stanford, preceded her in death in 1966. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Willie Elizabeth Knight, in 1994. Survivors include a son, Jim Stanford of Brainerd; two brothers, Clint Lundry of Hereford and C.E. "Bill'' Lundry of Wichita, Kan.; two half brothers, Leroy Burges of Hereford and C.V. Burges Jr. of Rockport; a half sister, Dora Lee Baird of Anchorage; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at Whitesboro. Mrs. Fields was born in Lamar County and became a resident of Carson County in the early 1940s. She moved to Pampa in 1975. She married George W. "Russ'' Fields in 1935 at Paris, Texas. He died in 1988. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Theresa Wimsett and Pat Flynn, both of Gordonville, and Jean Dona and Angie Degner, both of Pampa; two brothers, J.C. Chennault of Pampa and Desso Chennault of Paris; two sisters, Onita Floyd and Nan Garmon, both of Pampa; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. After the services in Pampa, the body will be moved to Whitesboro and will be available for viewing at Huff Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning until services. Ralph Hall HARTLEY - Ralph Hall, 79, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hartley Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Gene Amerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hartley Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mr. Hall was born in Ames, Iowa, and had been a Hartley County resident since 1960. He was a farmer and a former longtime member of Hartley First United Methodist Church. He married Bertie Reames in 1948 at Dalhart. He served in the Army during World War II in Italy and North Africa. He also served with the 804th Battalion of Tank Destroyers. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Eva Ward of Dumas; two sons, Loyd Hall of Hartley and Lee Hall of Dumas; four brothers, Fred Hall of Portales, N.M., Raymond Hall of Hartley, Floyd Hall of Artesia, N.M., and Earl Hall of Rhonert Park, Calif.; three sisters, Helen Akers of Matagorda Bay, Bertha Harris of Dalhart and Edith Richardson of Tulare, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today in Muffley Funeral Home Chapel at Clovis, N.M. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in San Jose Catholic Church at Texico, N.M., by the Rev. Daniel M. Balizan. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace at Farwell. Mr. Silva was born in Panuco de Coronado Durango, Mexico. He moved to Texico in 1993. He was a laborer in the ranching industry. He was of the Catholic faith. He married Maria Rayes Lucero in 1940 at Cuesta de Palmitos, Mexico. She died in 1982. Survivors include six daughters, Martimiana Silva and Francisca Silva, both of Mexico, Matilde Gonzales of Chicago, Cecilia Quezanda and Gloria Silva, both of Farwell, and Gloria Alonzo of Texico; three sons, Urbano Silva and Domingo Silva, both of Hemphill, and Jose Silva of Phoenix; a brother, Jose Silva of Mexico; 39 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Lucille Marie Crawford SPEARMAN - Lucille Marie Crawford, 88, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Joe Weaks and Arnis Pape officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Crawford was born in Brinkman, Okla. She moved to Spearman from Mobeetie in 1926. She married Ott Crawford in 1927 at Spearman. He died in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Spearman. Survivors include a son, John Crawford of Spearman; a daughter, Floydean Gatlin of Spearman; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. McWilliams was born in Borger and had been a lifetime Borger resident. She graduated from Borger High School in 1981. She was a former reserve deputy for the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Department and had worked for the district attorney's office for 16 years. She was an adult probation officer with the district court. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Women's Bowling League. She was the secretary/treasurer for the Borger Little League and served on the advisory board for OEA at Borger High School. Mrs. McWilliams married Kendell McWilliams in 1982 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Keith McWilliams and Seth McWilliams, both of the home; her parents, Neil and Virginia Ferguson of Borger; three brothers, Bruce Ferguson of Amarillo, Tommy Ferguson of San Antonio and Roy Ferguson of Borger; and grandparents, H.H. and Grace Barrett, and Ozie Ferguson, all of Borger. Colton Michael Holt BORGER - Colton Michael Holt, 6month-old son of David and Teraya Holt, died Saturday, April 26, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Virgil Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Babyland Garden at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Colton was born in Pampa. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Casey Holt and Caleb Holt, both of the home; grandparents, Marion and Mary Holt of Kellogg, Idaho, and Case and Jeanie Duggan of Borger; and greatgrandmothers, Francis Holt of Grass Valley, Calif., and Joyce Wolf of Borger. Ralph C. Bowington MULESHOE - Ralph C. Bowington, 92, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Cremation services are by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Bowington was born in Texhoma, Okla. He had lived in Muleshoe since 1983, moving from Jal, N.M. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for El Paso Natural Gas Co. He married Thelma Dell Massey in 1931 at Carlsbad, N.M. She died in 1991. Survivors include five daughters, Ann Weeks of Bullard, Jolene Swanner and Beverly Myatt, both of Lubbock, Bernice Best of Austin and Shirley Wessenberg of Sherman Oak, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren. Edwina R. Dalton PAMPA - Edwina R. Dalton, 71, died Sunday, April 27, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, in Amarillo, with J. Alan Ford of Southwest Baptist Church officiating. Cremation is by Rector Funeral Home. Mrs. Dalton was born in Mobeetie and moved to Pampa more than 22 years ago. She married R.D. Dalton in 1946 at Portales, N.M. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Greenhouse, in 1993. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathleen Weddle of Electra and Annette Lyle of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Robert D. Howard LAKETON - Robert D. "Bobby'' Howard, 53, a former Pampa resident, died Monday, April 28, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with Elmer McLaughlin, pastor of the Laketon Church of Christ, and John Stokes officiating. Burial will be in the Mobeetie Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Howard was born in Wheeler and was a lifelong resident of Gray County. He attended Pampa High School. He married Marolyn Trout in 1963 at Mobeetie. He had been an area rancher and cowboy for the past 30 years. He was a member of Laketon Church of Christ and the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys. He was director of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Association for 20 years and also was active in high school rodeos and 4-H. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Holman of Miami and Shelley Howard of Canyon; a son, Scott Howard of Laketon; his father, Ernest Howard of Pampa; two brothers, Les Howard of Pampa and Fred Howard of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
