Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Stanton was born in Jayton and had lived in Pampa for 75 years. He worked for Continental Oil as a pumper for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Pacific with the 153rd Engineering Combat Battalion. He was a rancher and a member of First Baptist Church of Lefors. He married Ruby Kyle in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Belt of Pampa and Kay Graves of Muleshoe; a brother, Troy Stanton of Lefors; a sister, Beatrice Peak of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or Pampa Meals on Wheels. Edgar Junior Farley QUITAQUE - Edgar Junior Farley, 67, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Sizemore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be later in the week in Farmington, N.M. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Farley was born and raised in Nashville, Ark. He served in the Army in World War II and later worked in the oil field as a welder in Farmington. He moved to Quitaque in the late 1960s. He was a member of Quitaque First Baptist Church. Survivors include four sisters, Ethel Morgan Osborne of Gallup, N.M., Emma Louise Chandler of Quitaque, and Frances Louella Lingo and Shirley Ann Baugh, both of Farmington; and five brothers, Glen Dale Farley of Aztec, N.M., Eugene David Farley, Edward Odell Farley and James Lloyd Farley, all of Farmington, and Billy Mac Farley of Quitaque. Stanford C. Knox HEREFORD - Stanford C."Stan" Knox, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Central Church of Christ with Tom Bailey, minister, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Knox was born in Lockney. He moved from Floyd County to Deaf Smith County when he was an infant. He played in the Army Band during World War II. He retired in 1984 after 30 years in the retail television and music business in Hereford. He served as deacon and choir director at Central Church of Christ. He was a member of the Hereford Kiwanis Club and the Hereford Senior Citizens "Young at Heart" choir. Mr. Knox married Ruth Owen Stenger in 1942 at Alexandria, La. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathleen A. Berry of Irving; two sons, Stephen O. Knox of Los Alamos, N.M., and Bryan D. The family will be at 341 Sunset Dr. Malcolm Marshall LOCKNEY - Malcolm Marshall, 86, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Seth Ward Baptist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Leslie Welch, pastor, and the Rev. Joe P. Weldon, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church in Plainview, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Marshall was born in DeVilla and attended schools there. He joined the Army in 1944. After being discharged, he farmed in Rogers and then moved to Plainview in 1956. He farmed there until retiring and moving to Lockney in 1973. He was a member of the American Legion and First Baptist Church in Rogers. He attended Seth Ward Baptist Church. He married Lillie Mull in 1937 in DeVilla. She died in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Simpson of Horseshoe Bay and Virginia Bratton of Olivet, S.D.; three sons, Bud Marshall of Rogers, Larry Marshall of Dallas and Mark Marshall of Kingsland; three brothers, Winston Marshall of Rogers, Nelson Marshall of Temple and William Marshall of Plainview; two sisters, Gladys Pugh of Knightstown, Ind., and Edith Eielnberger of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Fred John Hoskins Jr. SPEARMAN - Fred John Hoskins Jr., 59, of Hurricane, W.Va., a former Spearman resident, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997. Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane with Lee White and Curt Brown, pastors, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Curry of First Baptist Church in Gruver officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Hoskins was born in Spearman and had lived in West Virginia for 24 years. He was a senior planning engineer for Columbia Gas Co. in Charleston, W.Va. He retired after 28 years of service. He was a member, deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Teays Valley Executive Board of the Baptist Convention and a charter member of the Hurricane Civic Chorus. Survivors include his wife, Sharlie Ann Ross Hoskins; a daughter, Sara Dowling of Galveston; a son, David Hoskins of Louisville, Ky.; four sisters, Frances Kilgore and Jo Ann Lee, both of Spearman, Winnie Hester of Texline and Sada Long of Bartlesville, Okla.; and a granddaughter. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Gray was born in Du Bois, Pa. He has been a Panhandle resident since 1949, moving from Latrobe, Pa. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Counter Intelligence Corp. He worked for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania for 20 years. He retired from Pantex in 1976 after 20 years of employment as chief of physical security. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Latrobe before moving to Panhandle. He married Lenola O'Neal in 1945 at Denver. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Bill Gray, Dan Gray, Jeff Gray, Steve Gray and Scott Gray, all of Panhandle; three brothers; two sisters; and 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Orr was born in Shamrock and had been a lifetime resident of Panhandle. She worked at First National Bank for five years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Altrusa Club. She was a Girl Scout treasurer for many years. She married Richard H. "Dick" Orr in 1935 at Wayside. He died in 1984. Mrs. Orr helped her husband operate Panhandle Hardware until 1974. Survivors include a son, Richard Orr of Panhandle; a daughter, Judy Orr of Lubbock; a brother, Clifford Stevens of Wayside; four sisters, Viola Buster of Belton, Thelma Denny of Wayside, Eunice Hankins of Lubbock and Beatrice Davis of San Antonio; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker was born in Mangum, Okla. She moved to Muleshoe in 1948 from Hereford. She was a homemaker and a member of Muleshoe Church of Christ, the Muleshoe Study Club and the Muleshoe Sewing Club. She also worked with the Girl Scouts. She married E.O. Baker in 1917 at Lockney. He died in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Mallory of Elkhart, Ind.; and two sisters, Alta James of Fulberton, Calif., and Flossie O'Neal of Fritch; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Glen Ray Duckworth Glen Ray "Ducky" Duckworth, 69, of Amarillo, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Duckworth was born in Hedley and moved to Amarillo in 1937. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at several apartments in Amarillo. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by two sons, Glen Ray Duckworth Jr. and Sammy Lee Duckworth. Survivors include two sons, Carl Gene Duckworth and Danny Roy Duckworth, both of Fort Worth; two sisters, Tula Newkirk and Freida Daniels, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Oklahoma Lydia Marie Wessler OPTIMA, Okla. - Lydia Marie Wessler, 85, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church at Guymon with Mark Wescoatt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Wessler was born in Optima. She was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran Church when she was an infant. In 1927, she renewed her baptismal vow by the Right of Confirmation at St. John's Lutheran Church at Hooker. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Guymon. She taught Sunday school for many years and served as the church librarian. She married Eric W. Wessler in 1933. He died in 1990. Survivors include a son, Paul W. Wessler of Optima. Mrs. Roy was born in Pampa, Texas. She moved to Las Vegas 10 years ago. She was a respiratory therapist in the home health care industry. She was a member of the American Lung Association and president of the Las Vegas chapter. She was a member of the National Association of Medical Equipment and Supply, the American Association of Respiratory Care and the Nevada Society of Respiratory Care. She also was active in Community Wide Education for Respiratory Education. Survivors include her husband, Joe Roy; two sons, Jared Roy and Aaron Roy, both of Las Vegas; her parents, Dennis and Doris Gonzales of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Janis Jo Tyler of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a brother, J.J. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Resthaven Funeral Home. Mr. Daffern was born in Manchester. He owned and operated Daffern Janitorial Service for 38 years. He married Melissie Harrison in 1934 at Avery. Survivors include his wife; a son, Eddie Daffern of Austin; five daughters, Elorene Trammel, Dorothy Phillips, Barbara Amyx and Brenda Greer, all of Lubbock, and Vickie Wheeler of Hereford; two half brothers, William Daffern and Virgil Daffern, both of Texarkana; two half sisters, Velma Bowels and Gertrude Carpenter, both of Keizer, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
