Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Daniel was born in Floydada. He graduated from Floydada High School and from Texas Tech University in 1978. He began working as a customer service representative for Oscar Mayer-Kraft Foods in 1978. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church and the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Mr. Daniel married Sherry Wilson in 1987 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Christin Thompson of the home; his parents, Don and Gayle Daniel of Floydada; a brother, Marty Daniel of San Angelo; and a sister, Zahn Turner of Floydada. The family suggests memorials be to South Georgia Baptist Church. Trella Corbet Trella Corbet, 96, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 28, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Vining Community Church at Jet, Okla., with the Rev. J.L. Tatham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Jet. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Corbet was born in Honeyville, Ind., and had been a resident of Amarillo for 16 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Vining Community Church. She married Harold Corbet in 1925 at Anthony, Kan. He died in 1969. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Corbet, in 1969. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Turner of Amarillo; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Nescatunga Volunteer Fire Department. Veda Brazell Veda Brazell, 59, of 209 S. Mississippi St., died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at 209 S. Virl Gene Waldrop Virl Gene Waldrop, 69, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Strickland officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Waldrop was born in Tecumseh, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1994 from Denver. She married R.C. "Drip'' Waldrop in 1947 at Amarillo. He died in 1994. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodella Susan Waldrop, in 1964. Mrs. Waldrop was a member of Second Baptist Church. Brian Charles Limoges Brian Charles Limoges, 24, of Glendale, Ariz., a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, July 27, 1997, in Phoenix. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church by the Rev. Bert Horvath of the church. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Limoges was born in New Milford, Conn. He lived in Amarillo for several years and graduated from Palo High School in 1990. He attended the seminary in Santa Fe, N.M., for two years. He joined the Air Force and served at Griffith Air Base in Rome, N.Y., and at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, where he was discharged in 1996. Mr. Limoges was a loan processor and a former member of St. Laurence Cathedral. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Fran and Nora Limoges of Amarillo; a sister, Paula Guerrero of Amarillo; a stepbrother, Michael Trask of Amarillo; two stepsisters, Kelly Massey of Lubbock and Jana Trask of Amarillo; and grandparents, Margaret Limoges of Ogdensburg, N.Y., and Lacinda LaRue of Lakeland, Fla. Oklahoma Mary Frances Carter HOOKER, Okla. - Mary Frances Carter, 63, died Monday, July 28, 1997, in Liberal, Kan. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter was born in Springfield, Mo. She was a medical librarian at Memorial Hospital of Texas County from 1969 to 1989. She married Jack L. Carter in 1973 at Guymon. They made their home in Hooker. Mr. Carter died in 1993. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Juhree Koehn. Mrs. Carter was a member of Hooker United Methodist Church and was involved in many Bible studies. Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Hunter of Naperville, Ill., Donna Scott of San Antonio, Texas, and Bizz Haddock of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Bob Anderson of Gallup, N.M.; two sisters, Betty Stevens of Wellston, Mich., and Virginia Cook of Sparta, Mich.; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hackney-Gish Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hobart Rose Cemetery. Mr. Knight was born in Saddle Mountain. He attended school at Cooperton. He lived in the Hobart area until moving to Oklahoma City in 1992. He worked in home construction and roofing. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Knight of Blair; a brother, Eddie Knight of Amarillo; four sisters, Happy Barnes and Peggy Welch, both of Hobart, Arvilla Halford of Amarillo and Ethel Holt of Granite; and two grandsons. Joe Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Whitesboro by Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Mr. Stephens was born in Olustee, Okla. He moved to Wichita Falls from Whitesboro. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after more than 30 years as a lineman and installer. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, James R. Stephens of Van Buren, Ark.; a daughter, Pamela Martin of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Joseph Cozell Stephens of Gordonville and Kenneth R. Stephens of Richardson; two sisters, Louise Farr of Waco and Beatrice Staton of Hollis, Okla.; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Albert M. Michaels CHILLICOTHE - Albert M. Michaels, 80, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Manard Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Michaels was born in Le Contes Mills, Pa. He moved to Chillicothe in 1977 from Poway, Calif. He served in the Navy for 30 years. He married Helen E. Ruby in 1938 at Emeigh, Pa. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Edwin L. Michaels of Prewitt, N.M., and David A. Michaels of Alexandria, La.; two daughters, Diana J. Francis of Amarillo and Mary M. "Sue'' Grantham of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. New Mexico Dan W. Priddy TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Dan W. Priddy, 73, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Mikow, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Priddy was born in Achille, Okla., and had been a Tucumcari resident since he was 5 years old. He attended Tucumcari schools and graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1942. He had been in the automobile business all of his adult life and for 25 years was the owner and manager of Southwest Motor Co. He was a member of the New Mexico Automobile Dealers Association and was a director for his district. He was a member of the New Mexico Amigo Organization and the board of First National Bank in Tucumcari. He also was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Jo Priddy; a son, Brian Priddy of Tucumcari; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from this afternoon until 1 p.m. Friday. Area Eugene Sullivan DALHART - Eugene "Sully'' Sullivan, 74, died Monday, July 28, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Central United Methodist Church with James Edwards, minister of Lakeview United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Sullivan was born and raised in Queens, N.Y. After graduating from high school in Queens, he played for a New York Giants baseball farm team. He was injured while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He attended Northwestern State University in Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in education. He began teaching in Nevada and later taught in Cherokee, Okla. Mr. Sullivan married Elsie Hyer in 1948 at Alva, Okla. They moved to Dalhart in 1958. He taught school in Dalhart and was principal at Kella Hill and Dalhart High School before retiring in 1978. After he retired, he spent his winters in Florida and taught school there. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include his wife; a son, Patrick Sullivan of Austin; a daughter, Kathryn Robertson of Brandon, Miss.; and a brother, Phil Sullivan of West Palm Beach, Fla. The family suggests memorials be to the Senior Citizens Center. Bessie Loraine Kennedy PAMPA - Bessie Loraine Kennedy, 80, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel at Denton with the Rev. Dorrance Manning, pastor of Lynn Avenue Pentecostal Holiness Church in Oklahoma City, officiating. Mrs. Kennedy was born and raised in Denton County. She married the Rev. Ben Mitchell Kennedy in 1931 at Love County, Okla. He died in 1989. She moved to Pampa three years ago from Crowell. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Roxie Martin, on July 22. Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Morgan of Crowell, Georgia VonKanel and Annie Jean Conner, both of Pampa, and Venita Kennemer of Visalia, Calif.; three sons, Mitchell Kennedy of Fort Worth, Phanis Kennedy of Pampa and Doyle Kennedy of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Beatrice Weaver of Aubrey; 29 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mike Bell BORGER - Mike Bell, 43, of Plainview, formerly of Borger, died Monday, July 28, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Church of Christ of Borger with Richard Kasko, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Bell was born in Borger and had lived the past 11 years in Plainview. He was an independent truck driver and a member of the Church of Christ. He served with the Navy in Vietnam from 1972 to 1974. Survivors include his wife, Paula Bell; two daughters, Natalie Bell of Haltom City and Karen Bell of Amarillo; his mother, Doris Bell of Borger; a brother, Gary Bell of Tyler; grandfather, William P. Bell of Plainview; and a grandson. The family will be at 108 Davenport and 680 Evergreen in Borger. R.L. Briggs TULIA - R.L. Briggs, 80, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Briggs was born in Lampasas and moved to Swisher County in 1926. He attended the country Childress community school and Happy High School. He farmed in partnership with his two brothers. He served in World War II with the Army Engineer Corps. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Fredda Miller of Tulia. Don Howard HOWARDWICK - Don Howard, 54, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories in Clarendon with the Rev. Les Hall, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Panhandle, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Happy Cemetery at Happy. Mr. Howard was born in Gainesville and attended schools in Dimmitt and Springlake-Earth. He farmed in Deaf Smith County for many years. He was active in the Hereford Young Farmers and was a past president of the Deaf Smith County Farm Bureau. He married Connie Lyn Magness in 1981 at Las Vegas, N.M. He was a resident of Turkey for three years. He was an active member of the Turkey Lions Club before moving to Howardwick in 1996. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Turkey. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene Howard of Amarillo; a son, Dean Howard of Fort Worth; his mother, Freida Howard of Nocona; a sister, Nancy Hollingsworth of Hereford; and nine grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Happy Cemetery Association. Gary Hanks MULESHOE - Gary Hanks, 41, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Private graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Muleshoe Cemetery with Wes Grau of Grady, N.M., officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Hanks was born in Muleshoe and had lived all of his life in the Muleshoe community. He was a graduate of Muleshoe High School. He was employed in construction. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Charlie Hanks of Muleshoe; brothers, Dicky Hanks, Bret Hanks and Wes Hanks, all of Muleshoe; and grandmother, Ruby Willman. Ruth Fowler MEMPHIS - Ruth Fowler, 94, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with Tom Posey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mrs. Fowler was born in Sulphur, Murry County, Okla. She moved to Memphis from Petersburg in 1946. She married John Fowler in 1926 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1989. Mrs. Fowler was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Women. She also was active with Fowler's Rexall Drug Store. Survivors include two sons, Dick Fowler and Bob Fowler, both of Memphis; a brother, Carl Garrett of Winnemucca, Nev.; two sisters, Pauline Roberts of Sweetwater, Okla., and Juanita Godwin of Fullerton, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Methodist church or a favorite charity. Don Ray Mann PERRYTON - Don Ray Mann, 62, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Booker with the Rev. Slim Graham officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery at Booker by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Mann was born in Shattuck, Okla. He was raised in several places before settling in Follett. He married Pat Price in 1953 at Canadian. They made their home in various places while he worked for the Santa Fe Railway. In 1963, they made their home in Booker, where they owned and operated Don's Welding and The Triple M Motel. They moved to Perryton in 1991 and owned and operated the Great Plains Motel there. Mr. Mann was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Masonic Lodge No. 855 and the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a member of the Wheel-A-Go Cycle Club. Survivors include his wife; a son, Alan Ray Mann of Booker; a brother, Lee Roy Mann of Gage, Okla.; and a sister, Alberta Baird of Shattuck. The family requests memorials be to the Shriners. Faye Timmons CHILDRESS - Faye Timmons, 87, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Childress Church of Christ with Doyle Well of Los Angeles and Bill Mayes of Childress officiating. Burial will be in Northfield Cemetery at Northfield by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Timmons was born in Northfield and lived in Northfield until moving to Childress 11 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Childress Church of Christ. She had been a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Timmons, and three sons, Reese in 1982, Eddie in 1992 and Don in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Margie Cook of Childress and Marie Cruse of Turkey; a son, Wayne Timmons of Holly, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
