Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with Dan Powers, pastor of Northside Assembly of God Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Weber was born in Carmen, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo since 1983, moving from Stinnett. She had worked as a legal secretary and as a cook. She was a charter member of Golden Spread Grandmothers Club of Stinnett and a member of Northside Assembly of God Church. She married Elmer L. Weber in 1942 in Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1977. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Weber of Borger, Dale Weber of Amarillo and Mike Weber of Stinnett; three daughters, Nancy Weber-Hill of Odessa and Patty Sursa and Cindy Goforth, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Ama Russell of Enid, Okla., and Velma Turner of Altamont, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center or the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Billie Bain Billie Bain, 71, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle with the Rev. Raymond Bowlin, pastor of Bushland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Bain was born in Clarendon. She lived in Dumas from 1953 until moving to Amarillo in 1966. She was employed by Eva's Fashions and was a homemaker. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Clarendon and Bushland Baptist Church. She married Keith Bain in 1953 at Hedley. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Connie White of Amarillo; a sister, Thelma Hill of Clarendon; and four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106. Flora Elizabeth Leland Flora Elizabeth (Lisl) Leland, 92, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation will be by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Leland was born in New Richmond, Wis., and spent her early years there and in Minneapolis. She married Wilfred C. "Bill" Leland and they moved to Reston, Va., and then to Santa Barbara, Calif. She moved to Amarillo in 1994. She was a concert pianist and had taught piano for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986. Survivors include a son, Karl Jacobs of Maui, Hawaii; and a brother, W.A. "Bill" Sherman of Amarillo. The body will not be available for viewing. Clara Irene Heald Clara Irene Heald, 93, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel in Anson with the Rev. Lee Welch, pastor of First Baptist Church in Anson, officiating. Burial will be in Anson Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, and Lawrence Funeral Home. Mrs. Heald was born in Doniphan, Mo., and had lived in Amarillo for the past three years. She was employed in women's clothing at Blackburn Brothers in Amarillo and by Slack's Clothing Store in Denver before retiring in Anson in 1966. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Anson. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Fred L. Ponder in 1964, Calvin Manley in 1984 and A.G. Heald in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Roush of Amarillo; a brother, Cliff Hayes of Columbus, Mich.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Alene Stanford Alene Stanford, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. Stanford was born in Danville, Ark., and had lived in Amarillo for 75 years. She was a homemaker and member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She married Jack Stanford in 1936 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jackie Conner and Vicki Lammert, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Mary Lou Cates and Doris Padgett, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Jerry Covey and Charles Covey, both of Amarillo, and Robert Covey of Bedford; a grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. Laurance Alexander Trulove Laurance Alexander Trulove, 79, of Amarillo, died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Bishop George H. Quarterman officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Dr. Trulove was born and raised in Amarillo where he was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He is survived by a sister, Ora Trulove Sorenti of Farmington, N.M., and a niece, Ann Trulove of Farmington. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to WTA&MU Scholarship Fund in Canyon; or the local humane society. Canyon Thelma Mae Pond Thelma Mae Pond, 91, of Canyon, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Kelton Cemetery in Kelton. Mrs. Pond was born in Granite, Okla., and moved to Kelton at an early age. She graduated from Kelton High School and lived in Wheeler after her marriage. Mrs. Pond moved from Wheeler to Canyon in 1956 and later moved to Odell. She returned to Canyon for 20 years then moved to Amarillo in 1990 where she lived at the Bivens Retirement Center. She was a longtime member of the Kelton Baptist Church and later was a member of First Christian Church of Canyon. She married Aubrey B. Pond in 1927 at Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by a daughter, Beulah Bell Pond, in 1949. Survivors include two sons, Jim Pond and Doyle E. Pond; two daughters, Audrey Seitz and Maxine Galliart; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Oklahoma Clarence Edward Hogue GUYMON, Okla. - Clarence Edward Hogue, 68, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. James Wiggin of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church officiating. Arrangements were by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Hogue was born in Viola, Ark., and was raised in the Hardesty area. He worked for Eggers and Sons Construction in the late 1940s. He also managed Bryan's Corner Station for many years. He was a member of the Guymon First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Eddie Ray Davis ALTUS, Okla. - Eddie Ray Davis, 44, a former panhandle area resident, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Roberson and Sonny Tims officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Hill Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Hollis and graduated from Stratford, Texas, High School then attended West Texas State University and Texas Tech University. He served in the Army in Vietnam. Mr. Davis was employed by the Kingsland, Texas, postal service, was a self-employed carpenter and an insurance agent in Muleshoe, Texas with the Farm Bureau Insurance Co. For more than 10 years, he owned and operated a lodge in Kingsland. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He married Charlotte "Charlie" Shepard in 1988 at Kingsland. Survivors include his wife of Kingsland; four children, John, Chad, Shannon and Rebecca; his mother, Mozelle Lowder of Altus; three sisters, Dale Davis Proctor, Susan Daniels and Trish Pfitzinger; two brothers, Jim Lowder and Tom Lowder; and six grandchildren. Area Leeah Howard Wheeler FRITCH - Leeah Howard Wheeler, 30, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Church of Christ in Borger with Brian Boverie and Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Garden in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Borger and had been a lifetime resident of the area. She was a homemaker and member of Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Chanie Ranee Wheeler, in January. Survivors include her husband, Mike Wheeler; her parents, Patsy and Bob Sims of Fritch; four brothers, Michael Sims of Austin, Terry Sims of Amarillo, Kelley Sims of Lubbock and Tim Hartel of Gruver; a sister, Dean Ott of Fritch; and her grandmother, Mrs. Merle Howard of Borger. Mrs. Curtsinger was employed by FDIC of Dallas. Survivors include her son, Ray Dean Andrews of San Antonio; her mother, Susie Curtsinger of Hereford; and three grandchildren. Burial will be in Estelline Cemetery. Mrs. Richerson was a homemaker and longtime Estelline resident. She was a member of Estelline Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Finis, in 1966. Survivors include four nephews, C.L. Wade of Weatherford, Bill Dee Wade of Tulsa, Okla.; Waylon Wade of Wichita, Kan., and Bill Wade of Biloxi, Miss.; and three nieces, Laquita Frost and Mona Williams, both of Fort Worth, and Norma Albritton of Grand Prairie. Ken Horn, Baptist minister of Lubbock, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller was born in Tecumseh, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guthrie and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Paducah. She married Emsley Floyd Miller in 1934 at Tecumseh. He preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include five sons, Jerry Miller of Loraine, Ronnie Miller of Silverton, Carl Miller of Lubbock, Donald Miller of Guthrie and Ronald Miller of Wolfforth; four brothers, Leslie Morrow of Amherst, C.B. Nadine Gillette Sims SHAMROCK - Nadine Gillette Sims, 88, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church in Shamrock with the Rev. John Dorn, pastor, and the Rev. Todd Dyess of Pampa officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Sims was born in Delta, Colo., and moved to Shamrock in 1938. She had been employed by Fugua's Restaurant, Berten Drug Store, Stroup Home Furnishings, U Drop Inn Cafe, Mahnken Drug and Brannon's Home Furnishings. Mrs. Sims was a charter member of the reactivated B&PW Club where she served as an officer. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star where she served at different times as Star Points and Marshall. A member of the United Methodist Church, Mrs. Sims was in the Susannah group of United Methodist Women and in the Philathea Sunday School Class. Prior to joining the Methodist church, she was active in the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Sims; a brother, F.E. "Smitty" Smith of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Twila Hanner of San Diego. Inez Sanders MORTON - Inez Sanders, 86, of Enochs, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Morton with the Rev. Donnie Howell and the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Sanders was born in Hanna, Okla., and moved to Enochs in 1941 from Roaring Springs. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Enochs. She married Guy J. Sanders in 1930 at Turkey. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and two daughters, Cherry Thomas in 1983, and Frankie Chino in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Beasley of Enochs; two sisters, Ethel Feagin of Lubbock and Gladys Phillips of Morton; two brothers, Jess Hardin of Gulfport, Miss., and Oscar Hardin of Waco; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Muleshoe with the Rev. Alfonso San Juan officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery. Mrs. Porras was born in Edna. She moved to Big Spring from Muleshoe in 1995. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She married Joe Porras who preceded her in death in 1982. Survivors include two sons, Joe Porras of Big Spring and Armando Porras of Plainview; four daughters, Angelita Gonzales of Tulare, Calif., Beatrice Ramero of Houston, Lupe Porras of Snyder and Rosie Rodriquez of Odessa; two sisters, Julia Martinez of Westlaco and Maggie Montes of Santa Rosa; 32 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
