Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Black was born in Plainview and had been an Amarillo resident for 41 years. She attended public school in Amarillo and graduated from Palo Duro High School. For four years, she was employed by Outreach Health Services. Survivors include a son, James Westmoreland Jr., of Amarillo; her mother, Johnnie Trotter of Amarillo; two brothers, Nathan Williams of Columbia, S.C., and Clark Trotter of Pampa; four sisters, Letha May Williams and Elizabeth D. Jones, both of Oceanside, Calif., Sharon Rena Wiliams of Amarillo and Janice Trotter of Greeley, Colo.; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 1321 Bluebell St. Canyon Ella Mae King Ella Mae King, 83, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Assembly of God in Canyon with the Rev. Paul A. Henderson, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Bowie, and the Rev. Billy Nickell, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in West Park Cemetery at Hereford by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. King was born in Pauls Valley, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Hereford. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canyon and a former member of Avenue Baptist Church of Hereford. She also was a member of the Canyon Senior Citizens Association. She married Otis L. King in 1939 at Matador. He died in 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Leoda Shaw of Amarillo and Patsy Biles of Bowie; five sons, Doyle King and Orvell King, both of Hereford, Jerry King of Amarillo, Donnie King of Canyon and Dorven King of Portales, N.M.; a sister, Dorcie Green of Ballinger; two brothers, Floyd Fowler and Curtis Fowler, both of Sunset; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mrs. Harrison was born in Wyandotte County, Mo., and had lived in Clovis since 1942. She owned and operated Mr. Frisky Drive Inn for a number of years. She also operated The Smorgasbord on Mabry Drive for many years. She was a member of 16th & Pile Church of Christ. She married John William Harrison in 1942 at Kansas City, Kan. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jonnie Loadwick of Clovis and Robbie Arnold of Lubbock, Texas; three sons, Larry Harrison of Topeka, Kan., Bucky Harrison of Washington, D.C., and Rickie Harrison of Albuquerque; three sisters, Gail Fontenot of Beaufort, S.C., Corla June Hauchin of Walker, Mo., and Dora Irene Morgan of El Dorado Springs, Mo; a brother, Hank Bauer of Walker, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Donnie Carl Morris CLOVIS, N.M. - Donnie Carl Morris, 49, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church at Texico with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in Texico Cemetery at Texico. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was born in Clovis. He graduated from Texico High School in 1967. He retired from US West in January after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Texico. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; four daughters, Dana Wright of Muleshoe, Texas, and Brenda Garner, Shellie Lasiter and Jennie Piepkorn, all of Clovis; his mother, Letha Morris of Texico; a sister, Jean Thomas of Clovis; two brothers, Floyd Morris of Plainview, Texas, and Keith Morris of Muleshoe, Texas; and four grandchildren. Pearson, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Elida Methodist Church with Dr. David McConkey and Fred Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Elida Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Pearson was born in Donley County. He worked as a rancher, farmer and cowboy and had lived near Lamesa until 1942 when he moved his family to Crossroads. A year later, they moved to the Flying M Ranch south of Elida. He later owned several trucks and worked hauling hay and cattle. He also had driven a school bus route and rural mail route. For several years he owned and operated a service station and grocery in Elida. He had been retired about 15 years. Mr. Pearson was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Elida for a number of years and served as town mayor for two terms in the 1970s. He married Velma Hilburn in 1928 at Lamesa, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janice Morgan of Lake Arthur and Peggy Jones of Portales; a sister, Claudene Wood of Delta, Colo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Donald Perry Demaree STILLWATER, Okla. - Donald Perry "Don" Demaree, 78, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Strode Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Weece and Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater. Mr. Demaree was born north of Diamond Valley in Payne County and attended Diamond Valley schools. Until moving to Clovis, N.M., in 1952, he farmed east of Stillwater and called auctions. He was a livestock auctioneer in West Texas and New Mexico for 37 years and then returned to Stillwater after his retirement in 1985. After his retirement, Mr. Demaree ran cattle and called auctions in Pawnee. He was a member of Ingalls Masonic Lodge No. 128, on the board of the Diamond Valley Community Center and a member of Sunnybrook Christian Church. He called the quilt auction for the Community Center's Fall Festival each year. He married Esta "Pat" Caldwell in 1938 at Winfield, Kan. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Paula Z. Jones of Stillwater; a brother, Rex Demaree of Stillwater; a sister, Rachel Clemons of Stillwater; and two greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, followed by burial in Highland Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Singer was born in Dimmitt and attended Amarillo College. For the past 12 years, he was employed as assistant controller by the Knoxville Hilton. Survivors include his mother, Betty Singer of Knoxville; a brother, Gary Singer of Waco, Texas; and two sisters, Nita Marra of Amarillo and Sherry Wright of Beaumont, Texas. Area Mildred Lucille Poole QUANAH - Mildred Lucille Poole, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Spangler of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Goodlett Cemetery by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Poole was born in Luther, Okla. She had lived in Hardeman County since 1948. She was a homemaker and retired supervisor for DeLong's Sportswear. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She married Joe Poole in 1947 at Guthrie, Okla. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Sharon Carroll, Delores Smith and Janet Spangler, all of Quanah, and JoAnn McCoy of Caldwell; a brother, Charles Lowry of Guthrie; four sisters, Nellie Bumgarner and Mary Butler, both of Wellston, Okla., Alice Harrold of Elgin, Okla., and Ina Townsley of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity. William Conwell Mooney FLOYDADA - William Conwell Mooney, 81, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Floydada Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Mooney was born in Oglesby. With his family, he moved to Floydada in 1923 where he played football and graduated from Floydada High School. He then attended Eastern New Mexico State University where he also played football. He graduated from New Mexico State University. In 1943, he moved from Roy, N.M., to Springer, N.M. He served in the Army 13th Airborne Division during World War II. He was an agriculture teacher who taught in Des Moines, N.M., and Roy. He retired from Springer ISD where he taught agriculture and driver education. He was a Methodist. He is survived by his cousin, Jo Beth Walker of Lubbock. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Shelby Cheyenne Farmer PLAINVIEW - Shelby Cheyenne Farmer, infant daughter of Tina and Benjamin Farmer, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Plainview Memorial Park Babyland with the Rev. Elbert Fadallan, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Miss Farmer was born Aug. 26 in Plainview. Survivors include her parents; her grandparents, Dennis and Paula Butler of Plainview, Rex and Becky McLaurin of Petersburg, Jerry Farmer of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Rex D. Bird of Blue Bell, Utah; and her great-grandparents, Lela Rook and Mary McLaurin, both of Plainview, Edwin and Pat Duncan of Vernal, Utah, Daniel and Roleen Bird of Blue Bell and Max and Elizabeth Householder of Scottsdale. Marjorie A. Winters CLARENDON - Marjorie A. Winters, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Citizens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. Mrs. Winters was a Texas native who had been a Clarendon resident for 57 years. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of First Christian Church. She married Daniel Orbrey "Red" Winters in 1940 at Brunswick, Ga. He preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Larry Lane Boedeker PLAINVIEW - Larry Lane Boedeker, 54, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Plainview with James A. Mock Sr. officiating. Burial will be in a Plainview cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Boedeker was born in Plainview. He attended Providence schools and graduated from Lockney High School and Texas Tech University. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and St. Mark's Episcopal Church where he was a former vestry member and senior warden. From 1968 until 1974, Mr. Boedeker was employed as a federal bank examiner and then was a farmer in the Providence community from 1975 until 1998. During the past year, he was a lead-base paint inspector. He was an organ donor. He married Pat Thompson in 1968 at Plainview. Survivors include his wife; his son, Kryl Boedeker of Lubbock; his daughter, Shannon Outen of Arlington; a sister, Foncine Carthel of Plainview; and two brothers, Cecil Boedeker of Lockney and Merlin Boedeker of Bedford. June Ann Malone PLAINVIEW - June Ann Malone, 57, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Neil Unwin, pastor, and James Jones of Plainview officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Malone was born in Lilbourn, Mo., and moved to Kress in 1950 where she attended school. After her marriage, she lived in Plainview where she was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God Church. She married Thomas Carroll Malone in 1960 in Plainview. He died in 1986. She is survived by her parents, Paul and Jearl Hodges of Plainview; a sister, Tammy Schank of Plainview; and a niece. Earl Wilbur DALHART - Earl Wilbur, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Reese of Canyon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Wilbur was born in Canadian where he attended public schools. He attended Hardin Simmons University, West Texas State College, University of Southern California and the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was an aerial navigation instructor at Carlstrom Field in Arcadia, Fla., for the 43rd Army Air Corps Training Detachment. In 1945, after his honorable discharge, Mr. Wilbur moved to Miami where he was employed by Pan American Airways. He rejoined his father in the banking business in Canadian in 1946. In 1955, he moved to Dalhart where he became president, director and general manager of First National Bank. During his banking career, Mr. Wilbur was head of banks in Higgins, Dalhart, Clayton, N.M., Hereford and Canadian. He served as director of Dalhart Federal Savings and Loan Association since 1956 and retired from banking in 1991. He served as treasurer of the Wilcon Gas Co. Since 1955, Mr. Wilbur was a member of Dalhart Rotary Club where he served as president and director. He was president of the United Fund, treasurer of Salvation Army, past president of the Dalhart County Club, past director of the XIT Rodeo & Reunion Association and was director of the Panhandle Heritage Foundation. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the First Baptist Church. He married Dorothy Dickinson in 1942 at Los Angeles. She died 1986. Survivors include a son, Robert Wilbur of Dalhart; a daughter, Dee Dee Crosgrove of Canadian; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a special friend, Verda Harper. Gilford Nolan DALHART - Gilford Nolan, 71, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mel Mathews, pastor of Seventh-day Adventist Church of Dalhart, and Ben Clements, grandson, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Nolan was born in Fairbanks, La., and was raised in Shamrock where he graduated from high school. He later attended Texas Tech University. He was a veteran of the Navy. In 1959, Mr. Nolan moved to Dalhart when he became the manager of Gooch Feed Yards. He was partner and manager of Texline Commercial Cattle Feeding Co. In the past few years, he was a rancher in Tucumcari, N.M. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Baptist church. He married Aline Wharton Garner in 1979 at Tucumcari. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melinda Clements of Odessa and LaVonda Miller of Somerset; two stepdaughters, Kayline Garner of Amarillo and Fayrine Benavidez of Tucumcari; his mother, Myrtle Nolan of Farmerville, La.; a sister, Oma Lee Brillhart of Farmerville; a brother, George "Tex" Nolan of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Maurine Harlan Nolan. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite Charity.
