Lonnie Dewayne Hooley Tina Marie Hooley The Rev. Lonnie Dewayne Hooley, 32, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 30, 1998. His wife, Tina Marie Hooley, 28, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. Joint services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Pentecostal Church of God in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. The Rev. Hooley was born in Fort Smith and graduated from Northside High School in Fort Smith. He was pastor of Messenger Worship Center Pentecostal Church of God in Amarillo. Mrs. Hooley was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Messenger Worship Center Pentecostal Church of God in Amarillo. The Rev. Hooley's survivors include a daughter, Melissa Marie Hooley of the home; his mother, Bonnie Hooley of Joplin, Mo.; and a sister, Melody Jean Bebee of Joplin. Mrs. Hooley's survivors include a daughter, Melissa Marie Hooley of the home; her parents, William J. Robinett and Linda Hurst, both of Hoxie, Ark.; seven sisters, Lisa Hankins of Jonesboro, Ark., Sheila Hurst of Clover, S.C., Rhonda Thompson of Honolulu, and Melody Hurst, Natalie Hurst, Jennifer Hurst and Amanda Robinett, all of Hoxie; and two brothers, Greg Coats of Hoxie and Chris Coats of Jonesboro. Box 850, Joplin, Mo., 64802. Dr. Konrad Ratnarajah Dr. Konrad Ratnarajah, 73, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 30, 1998. Services will be at noon Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Dr. Ratnarajah was born in Mullaitivu, Sri Lanka. He had lived in Amarillo for three years. He was a neurosurgeon with Texas Tech University. He studied medicine in London and was a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Behavior Medicine. Dr. Ratnarajah married Rita Deneice Dillon in 1975 at Point Pleasant, N.J. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Rikki Ratnarajah of Austin, Darren Hottendorf of Beaumont, Carl Hottendorf of Houston, Kirk Hottendorf of San Diego and Otto Hottendorf of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Randi Ratnarajah of Amarillo, Visa Ratnarajah of Beaumont and Nicole Hottendorf of Birmingham, Ala.; eight brothers; three sisters; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 9520 Tascosa Road. Thelma Bowen Johnson Thelma Bowen Johnson, 75, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 30, 1998. Private services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Johnson was born in New Orleans and had lived in Amarillo since 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. She married Thomas J. Johnson in 1941 at New Orleans. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tommy Johnson of Sugarland and Terry N. Johnson of Fort Worth; a brother, E.J. Bowen Jr. of Chalmette, La.; a sister, Ruth Canton of Arabi, La.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. James Paul Brown James Paul Brown, 81, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Chris Kutin, chaplain at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in McCurtain, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1924. He served with the Navy during World War II. He worked as a machinist for Santa Fe Railway for many years. After retiring from the railroad, he worked as a building engineer at Amarillo National Bank. Mr. Brown was a member of the Amarillo Police Department Auxiliary. He was an active league bowler at Western Bowl for many years. He was Baptist. He married Verle Tye in 1937 at Amarillo. She died in 1990. He married Juanita Harmon in 1990 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Frank Brown of Las Vegas; a daughter, Kitty Louise Rosas of Amarillo; a stepson, Clifton Ray Tucker of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Anita Ann Tucker Poole of Oklahoma City and Mary Elizabeth Tucker Stovall of Flower Bluff; a sister, Hazel Taylor of Fort Morgan, Colo.; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Jordan was born in Amarillo. He owned Bloomers For You in Irving for seven years. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and the Texas State Floral Association. He was a certified data processor and a member of the Data Processing Management Association. Survivors include two sons, Fred R. Jordan of Irving and Gene J. Jordan of Crowley; a sister, Margarite Raleigh of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads in Phoenix. Arrangements are by Arizona Aftercare. Mr. Armstrong was born in Amarillo. He was a sales representative. Survivors include his wife, Sandi Armstrong; a daughter, Nikki Mirdadian; three stepdaughters, Tammy Richie, Carrie Rhodes and Katie Rhodes; a stepson, Michael Rhodes; three sisters, Donna Ballew, Denise Warren and Debbie Wynne; a brother, David Armstrong; and four grandchildren. Marie Toombs MAPLE - Marie Toombs, 75, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Threeway Baptist Church at Maple with the Rev. James Sinclair of the church and the Rev. Mrs. Toombs was born in Mangum, Okla. She had lived in Maple since 1933, moving from Davidson, Okla. She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Maple for 30 years. She was a member of Threeway Baptist Church in Maple and the Order of the Eastern Star in Morton. She married Harold Toombs in 1945 at Maple. Survivors include two sons, Gary Mack Toombs of Muleshoe and Monte Maurice Toombs of Hewett; a daughter, Janice Seals of Terrell; a sister, Thursie Reid of Muleshoe; a brother, Dondal Basham of Avenger; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Area Otis L. Barnett PLAINVIEW - Otis L. Barnett, 89, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Barnett was born in Ellis County. He graduated from Waxahachie High School at Waxahachie in 1927. He then attended Brantley-Draughon Business College in Fort Worth for two years. He served with the Civil Air Patrol during World War II. Mr. Barnett had worked for Mart Ebeling Co. in Dallas for 31 years. After retiring, he moved to Midlothian. He moved to Plainview in 1994. He was a member of the Texas Police Association and First Methodist Church in Midlothian. He married Pauline Whitley in 1959 at Dallas. She died in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Quata Hughes of Plainview and Ouida Smith of Dallas; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Alberto Mata HEREFORD - Alberto Mata, 52, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in San Jose Church with Deacon Jessie Guerrero officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mr. Mata had lived in Hereford since 1962. He attended San Jose Church. Survivors include his wife, Evangeline Mata; a daughter, Melissa Mata of Clovis, N.M.; five sons, Tony Aranda and Juan Mata, both of Hereford, Danny Mata of Corpus Christi, and Gabriel Mata and Rudy Villarreal, both of Amarillo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alberto Mata Sr.; and seven grandchildren. Norma Lee McMullan PAMPA - Norma Lee McMullan, 74, a former Pampa resident, died Friday, March 27, 1998, in San Antonio. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. John Glover, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. McMullan was born in Breckenridge. After attending Woodrow Wilson Elementary and Pampa Junior High School, she moved with her parents to Arkansas. She returned to Pampa after her marriage and lived there from 1950-1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had held numerous offices in the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. McMullan was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Mason McMullan Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Martha Singleton of San Antonio, Holly Whatley of Cedar Park and Amy Bowman of Leander; and four grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Jim Alexander, 1900 N. Fir, in Pampa. Jack Barnhill TURKEY - Jack Barnhill, 73, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Dreamland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Barnhill was born in Turkey. He was a rancher and a Texaco consignee. He was a Mason and a 50-year Shriner. He married Mary Jo Russell in 1942 at Hollis, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jacqualyn Ham of Quitaque and Beverly Mars of Matador; a son, Russell Barnhill of Bellville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Charles Baxter DALHART - Charles Baxter, 89, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Davis, pastor of the Peoples Church, and Dr. Steve McMeans, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Baxter was born in Stamford. He married Carrie McDaniel in 1934 at Happy. She died in 1991. Mr. Baxter worked, owned and managed grain elevators in Plainview and Lockney for 26 years. He was a past director of both the Texas Grain Feed Dealers Association and the Panhandle Grain and Feed Dealers Association. He ranched in the Texas, Colorado and New Mexico areas and was a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association and the Colorado Cattlemen's Association. He served as vice president and director of the Plainview Stock Show and was a member of the XIT Range Riders for several years. Mr. Baxter had served on the city council in Lockney and the chamber of commerce in Plainview. He was a past director of Ute Park's Summer Homes and the Senior Citizens Center. He moved to Dalhart in 1960, when he retired. He continued to ranch and raise Appaloosa horses. Mr. Baxter had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1920. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Hatch of Dalhart; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 606 Oak.
