Arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Ms. Smith was born in Turkey, Texas, and moved to Amarillo in 1972. She was a nurse's aide. It is requested memorials be to Amarillo Nursing Center, 4033 W. 51st Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79109. Lowell Dunlap Lowell "L.A." Dunlap, 60, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 28, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James M. Mims, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mr. Dunlap was born in Bonham, where he attended school. He was an Army veteran and retired from Pantex. Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Clay Dunlap and Lowell Dunlap Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Britany Dunlap, of Amarillo, Mary Johnson of Atlanta and Cassandra Dunlap of Sacramento, Calif.; four sisters, Charlene Shaw, Cora Lee Dunlap and Velma Dunlap, all of Bonham, and JoAnn Morrison of Waco; eight brothers, Gregory Dunlap and Joe Dunlap, both of Amarillo, Gregg Dunlap, Lenwood Dunlap and Thad Dunlap, all of Dallas, Saul Dunlap Sr. of Bonham, Cameron Dunlap of Tyler and Arlie Dunlap of Sherman; and eight grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Breeding was born in Hayden, N.M., and had lived in Amarillo since 1957. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Ernest Breeding in 1958 at Las Vegas, N.M. Bentley, 89, of Amarillo and a former resident of White Deer, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. Burial will be in White Deer Cemetery with graveside rites by the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Bentley was born in Swink, Okla., and moved to White Deer in the 1920s. He retired in 1974 after more than 37 years as plant superintendent for Dorchester Gas Producing Company. He moved to Amarillo in 1974 where he was a member of Tascosa County Club. Mr. Bentley was a Baptist. He was past president and zone chairman of the White Deer Lions Club and past president of the White Deer School Board. He was a member and past worshipful master of the White Deer Masonic Lodge No. 1188 AF&AM. He married Ethel Simmons in 1932. She died in 1996. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Imke. Survivors include a son, David Bentley of Lubbock; two daughters, Linda Peirce and Beverly Bentley, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Frank Douglas Grubb Frank Douglas Grubb, 68, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Grubb was born in Tulia and had lived in Amarillo for 24 years. He had been employed as a water well driller. Survivors include his wife, Irene Lynch; two daughters, Mikus Grubb of Galveston and Pat Grubb of Plainview; two sons, Damon Grubb of Galveston and Shane Grubb of Tulia; a brother, Glyn Grubb of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren. Oklahoma Alice Ann Christine Shockley BEAVER, Okla. - Alice Ann Christine Shockley, 88, died Friday, May 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Beaver United Methodist Church with Charles Watson officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mrs. Shockley was born in Shickley, Neb. She attended school in Kansas. She married Fredrick Shockley in 1929 at Lindsborg, Kan. They later divorced. Survivors include three daughters, Rosemarie Berry of Laverne, Avis Kerns of Balke and Roberta Edwards of Cedar Hill, Texas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Elsewhere David L. Immel FORT WORTH - David L. Immel, 49, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Cremation was by Guardian Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Memorial services will be on July 18 in Amarillo. Mr. Immel was born in Higgins. He graduated from Stinnett High School in 1966. At the time of his death, he was retired from his own company, Tire Brokers. He had lived in San Angelo, Snyder and Abilene before settling in Fort Worth in 1992. Survivors include a son, Lance Immel of Phoenix; a daughter, Lynde Bennett of Houston; his mother and stepfather, Lyn and Harold Green of Phoenix; his stepmother, Marie Immel of Fort Smith, Ark.; a brother, Rick Green of Laurel, Miss.; a sister, Lavetta Beshears of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren. Nettie D. Hyatt LUBBOCK - Nettie D. Hyatt, 99, died Friday, May 29, 1998, in Fort Worth. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Dickens with the Rev. Tom Lakey and the Rev. B.A. Hyatt officiating. Burial will be at Dickens Cemetery in Dickens by Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock. Mrs. Hyatt was born in Buffalo Gap. She moved to Lubbock in 1971 from Dickens. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Lubbock. Survivors include two daughters, Ethel Hammon of Fort Worth and Ella Fisher of Los Gatos, Calif.; two sons, B.A. Hyatt of Lubbock and Jess Hyatt of Andrews; nine grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Assembly of God Church in Lubbock. New Mexico Arthur Aragon PORTALES, N.M. - Arthur Aragon, 26, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. Rosary will be at 7 p.m Wednesday in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Helen Catholic Church with the Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mr. Aragon was born and raised in Portales where he attended school. He had been employed as a cook by El Rancho Restaurant, Cattle Baron and Whispering Pines in Ruidoso. At the time of his death, he was employed by Goober McCools. He attended Eastern New Mexico University and was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Aragon; a son, Angelo Aragon; his mother and stepfather, Mabel Sotelo and Juan Romero; a brother, Johnny Barros; two sisters, Renee Barros and Savannah Barros; his grandmother, Margaret Torres; and the mother of his children, Vicki Duran. All are of Portales. Area Silverio Noriega KRESS - Silverio Noriega, 75, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. John Salazar officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Noriega was born in San Antonio and grew up in Maxwell, where he attended school. He married Margarita Rodriquez in 1944 at Martindale. After his marriage, he farmed in San Marcos. He moved to Kress in 1959 and continued farming. Mr. Noriega was employed by the Kress Independent School District from 1981 until 1983, when he returned to farming. He retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was a Cursillista. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Anita Tijerina and Betty Cantu, both of Kress and Frances Noriega of San Marcos; three sons, Guadalupe Noriega, Joe Noriega and Johnny Noriega, all of Kress; a sister, Amalia Lara of San Marcos; 24 grandchildren; and 19 greatgrandchildren. Thelma Ree Roberts WELLINGTON - Thelma Ree Roberts, 80, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Lewisville. Services were at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Wellington Memorial Garden by Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis, Okla. Mrs. Roberts was born in Wellington. She married Leon Roberts in 1940 at Wellington where she lived all her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She had worked as a sales clerk at Parson Durg, Steve Owens and Saides in Wellington stores for 45 years before retiring. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Pat Ford of Euless; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. Viola M. Butler BORGER - Viola M. Butler, 79, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, and the Rev. Jack Hutson, pastor of First Baptist Church at Vanderbilt, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Butler was born in Donley County and had been a Borger resident for 63 years. She was a former youth center director and director of parks and recreation in Borger. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and worked in the nursery for several years. She married Bill M. Butler in 1938 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; a son, J.W. Butler of Borger; a daughter, Jo Sanders of Borger; two brothers, W.B. Hutson of Fritch and Robert Hutson of Van Vleck; a sister, Frances Anderson of Borger; three grandchildren; and six greatgrandsons. The family will be at 1402 Marigold. Dovie Richards HEREFORD - Dovie Richards, 81, died Saturday, May 30, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in West Park Cemetery with her nephew, Jack Bryant, officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Richards was born in Lakeview. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1922 from Floydada. She was a homemaker. She married Walter S. Richards in 1936 at San Bernardino, Calif. He died in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Dyer of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Rubye Walker and Bessie Bridges, both of Hereford, and Bertie Britt of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Andrew Schulze Jr. GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Andrew "Corky" Schulze Jr., 63, died Friday, May 29, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Panhandle Cemetery with the Rev. John Pratt, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church of Panhandle, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Schulze was born in Panhandle and moved to Glen Burnie 31 years ago. He was a Methodist and member of Ferndale Community Club. Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Gawthrop of Glen Burnie and Louise Rapstine of Amarillo. The family will be at 605 Maple St. in Panhandle. Visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Leopoldo A. Brasher PANHANDLE - Leopoldo A. "Tony" Brasher, 62, died Monday, June 1, 1998. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. CDT today in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. MST Wednesday in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, N.M., with the Rev. Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery by Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Mr. Brasher was born and raised in Santa Rosa where he was attended school. He attended Brownings Commercial College, Frank Phillips College and West Texas State University. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean conflict and served from 1953 until 1958 including two years in Japan. A former resident of Albuquerque, N.M., he moved to Panhandle in 1962. Mr. Brasher was co-owner of Sky Line Supper Club in Albuquerque. He was with Borger Pantex Credit Union and later managed Amarillo Pantex Credit Union. He created a credit union for LeviStrauss of Amarillo and for Triple A. He owned Fat Tony's Restaurant for the past 24 years. For 36 years, he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. He married Toni Eva Zamora in 1958 at Santa Rosa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jamie Brasher of Panhandle; two sisters, Pat Corrin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Prescilla Garcia of Santa Rosa; and two grandsons. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. today at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. Mr. Lopez was born in Concho County. He married Tomosa Guebera in 1943 at Eden. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Castro of Plainview; seven sons, Ray Lopez of San Angelo, Eddie Lopez and Pablo Lopez Jr., both of Plainview, Armando Lopez of Ropesville, Arturo Lopez of Southland, Oscar Lopez of Lubbock and John Lopez of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Jimmy Cunningham MORTON - Jimmy Cunningham, 57, died Sunday, May 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, and the Rev. Hugh Jack Norwood of Hale Center officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Cunningham was born in Morton and was a lifelong resident. He was a 1958 graduate of Morton High School. He served during the Vietnam war with the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne. Mr. Cunningham was a farmer and owned Cunningham's Aero Spraying Service. He was a licensed agriculture pilot and a member of First Baptist Church. He married Belva Tanner in 1967 at Odessa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susanne Cunningham, in 1970. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Patrick "Butch" Cunningham of San Angelo; a daughter, De'Sanne Merritt of Morton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Cunningham of Morton; a sister, LaVon Davis of Levelland; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Heisler was born and raised in Hollister, Okla. She graduated from Hollister High School and moved to Wayside after her marriage. She was a homemaker and member of Wayside Methodist Church. She married Billy Wiatt Heisler in 1944 at Hollister. He died in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Lee Anderson, in 1995. Survivors include a son, Buddy Heisler of Wayside; a sister, Lois Hefner of Fredrick, Okla.; and a granddaughter.
