Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sammy Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Fetter was born in Lima, Ohio, and moved to Amarillo in 1969 from Lima. He was a self-employed painter and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He married Joyce Strange in 1968 in Harrod, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Fetter Jr., in 1990. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tom Hilleary and Tim Hilleary, both of Amarillo and Terry Hilleary of Greenville; eight daughters, Brenda Vaughn, Brenda Watts, Tammy Esparza, Penny Bybee, Teddy Hilleary and Missy Burke, all of Amarillo, Peggy Evans of McGuffey, Ohio, and Barbara Eppler of Houston; five sisters, Evelyn Sprague of Buckland, Ohio, Pat Campbell of Lakeview, Ohio, Dean Stanley and Sue Stauffer, both of Lima and Wanetta Wheatley of St. Louis, Mo.; 35 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at 1408 S. Eastern St. and request memorials be to the American Cancer Society. William Arthur Evans William Arthur Evans, 66, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle with the Rev. Allen Norris, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Masonic rites by Palo Duro Masonic Lodge 1239. Mr. Evans was born in Amarillo where he was a lifetime resident. He served in the Air Force and worked in admissions and PBX at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, retiring after 31 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Mended Hearts, Palo Duro Masonic Lodge 1239, El Paso Scottish Rite Consistory and Khiva Temple of the Shrine. He was a lifetime member of Demolay, REACT and IOOF. Survivors include two sons, Arthur Wayne Evans of the Navy and Mark Allen Evans of Houston; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Robinson of Huntsville, Ark.; a sister, Evelyn Potter Kruse of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Effie Elizabeth Moore Effie Elizabeth Moore, 85, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Park Place Towers Chapel with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Moore was born in Catoosa, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo since 1923. She was an artist, a past president of the Amarillo Art League and the Amarillo Garden Club. She had owned and operated Effie's Arts and Crafts for 10 years and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Kenneth "Tack" Moore in 1941 at Perry, Okla. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roger Moore of Dallas and Raymond E. Crisp of Amarillo; a brother, Samuel O'Neal of Paris, Texas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be in her name to Park Central Benevolent Fund, 1300 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101. New Mexico Martha Mozelle Durham AZTEC, N.M. - Martha Mozelle Durham, 88, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at Four Corners Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Lockney Cemetery at Lockney, Texas, with the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lockney, officiating. Arrangements are by MooreRose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mrs. Durham was born in Dalton, Ga., and had lived in New Mexico for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Durham Sr., in 1972; by two sons, L.H. Durham and T.C. Durham; and a daughter, Camillo Jo Durham. Survivors include five sons, Bill Durham of Stratford, Texas, Tom Durham of Big Cabin, Okla., Cecil Durham Jr., John Durham and Ken Durham, all of Aztec; three daughters, Patricia Knepp of Cedar Hill and Alice Worley and Irene Springfield, both of Rusk, Texas; two sisters, Elsie Peckham and Ellen Anderson, both of Amarillo; 36 grandchildren; 40 greatgrandchildren; and many great-greatgrandchildren. Area Nellie Johnson Fincher MORTON - Nellie Johnson Fincher, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Fincher was born in Vernon and moved to Morton in 1940 from Slaton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Morton Senior Citizens. She had been employed in Morton schools cafeteria. She married Elmer Ray Fincher in 1929 at Slaton. He died in 1983. Survivors include three daughters, Marvie Ann Deaver of Lubbock, Nelda Faye Bergland of Mesquite and Bernice Nesbitt of Levelland; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Morton Senior Citizens Association. Eva Kay Tole QUANAH - Eva Kay Tole, 57, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Wichita Falls. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with David Terrell, Lyndal Werner and Jack Diltz officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mrs. Tole was born in Quanah where she was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Quanah High School and Altus School of Beauty. She had been a beautician for 35 years and was the owner of Channel 2 News for 12 years. She was active in the Quanah Riding Club, RV Sams Club and the annual Thompson-Sawyer Public Library Telathon. She was a Church of Christ member. Survivors include two sons, Nathan Tole of Duncan, Okla., and Jamie Tole of Vernon; her mother, Marie Wallace of Quanah; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or the Church of Christ. O.A. Oldham DIMMITT - O.A. "Shorty" Oldham, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Rhodes, pastor of First Baptist Church, and Shawn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Oldham was born in Hopkins County. He married Jean Campbell in 1945 in Clovis, N.M. They moved to Dimmitt in 1950 from Lubbock. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1973. Survivors include two sons, Eugene Oldham of Plano and Kenneth Oldham of Belton; two daughters, Doricell Davis of Dimmitt and Gay Hamlett of Deep River, Conn.; three brothers, R.Y. Oldham of Lubbock, T.D. Oldham of Shallowater and Joe Oldham of Lamesa; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery with Steve Hawkins officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Murphy had been a resident of Borger since 1940. She was a member of First Christian Church and Rebekah Lodge 286. She received the Paper Patent of the State of Texas Outstanding Rebekah. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Prince, in 1948 and her second husband, Arthur E. Murphy, in 1983. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Goble Prince in 1981 and Hiram Prince in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Delma Prince of Independence, Kan., and Noolen Prince of Tyler; a daughter, Patsy Webb of Amarillo; a sister, Opal Hadaway of Plano; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Duncan Edward Guthrie Johnson BORGER - Duncan Edward Guthrie Johnson, infant son of Kendall and Lisa Johnson of Borger, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Cemetery with Richard Kasko, minister of Fritch Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Keillan Johnson of Borger; grandparents, Karen Stephenson of Borger, Kent and Vicki Stephenson of Borger and Bobby and Thoral Johnson, also of Borger; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Whitfield and Louise Ausbrooks, all of Borger and Frank and Violet Guthrie of Canadian. Leon A. Barham TULIA - Leon A. Barham, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in 6th & Gaines Church of Christ with Clark Johnson, Dennis Conway and Delos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Barham was born in Mount Pleasant. He joined the Army in 1942 and toured Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He was discharged in 1945. He married U.Z. Cowan in 1941 at Memphis, Texas. They lived in Quitaque until moving to Tulia in 1957. He worked for Mid-Plains Rural Telephone Cooperative in Tulia for 29 years, retiring in 1986 as plant superintendent. He was a longtime member and an elder of 6th & Gaines Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Barham of Plainview; a sister, Lily Funderburk of Fort Stockton; three brothers, Orville Barham of Midlothian, James Barham of Weatherford and William Barham of Sandia; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. V.G. Zachary Sr. PLAINVIEW - V.G. Zachary Sr., 80, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Kenneth Avarritt of Benton, Ark., officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mr. Zachary was born in Franklin County and had lived in Springdale, Ark., from 1933 to 1964 when he moved to Post. He moved to Lubbock in 1970 and to Plainview in September. He was a building contractor and worked out of Bowman Lumber Co., until retiring about a month ago. He was a member of West End Church of Christ at Lubbock. He married Dorothy Irene Thompson in 1937 at Cassville, Mo. Survivors include his wife; a son, V.G. "Sonny" Zachary Jr. of Heath; a daughter, Rita Mosley of Plainview; five sisters, Valera Wallis and Margie King, both of Bartlett, Tenn., and Isabell Meeker, Shirley Vaughn and Leanel Shockley, all of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, Albert Zachary of Springdale, Ark.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Francisco Gonzales Martinez FLOYDADA - Francisco Gonzales Martinez, 71, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Lubbock. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church by the Rev. John Ohlig. Burial will be in the Floydada Cemetery. Mr. Martinez was born in La Costa and moved to Floydada in 1958 from LaPryor. He retired from the city of Floydada as well as from farming and roofing. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Sostenes Velasquez PLAINVIEW - Sostenes Velasquez, 68, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Lockney. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church by the Rev. John Ohlig. Burial will be in the Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Velasquez was born in Cotulla, La Salle County. He attended Cotulla schools. He moved to Floydada in 1983 from Cotulla. He was a retired farm laborer and had worked for the city of Cotulla for many years. He attended St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada. Survivors include four sons, Ricky Velasquez, Sostenes Velasquez Jr., Julio Velasquez and Mauricio Velasquez; two daughters, Martina Velasquez and Loraina Velasquez; a stepdaughter, Christina Velasquez; a sister, San Juana Ibarra of Floydada; and six grandchildren.
