Grady William T. "Bill" Grady, 52, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Herman Castro of Day Spring Ministries officiating. Mr. Grady was born in Atlanta. He had worked as an accountant for VNS Industrial Supply for 13 years. He was a past president of the Parent Teachers Association. Survivors include two sons, E.W. Grady and Aaron Grady, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Amber Reynolds of Amarillo; a sister, DeeRisa Ables of San Diego, Calif.; and his mother, Sara Andrade of San Diego. Dorothy Gaulden Dorothy Gaulden, 70, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 31, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Gaulden was born in Clarendon and had lived in Amarillo for 50 years. For 20 years, she was a co-owner of Golden Light Cafe. After retirement she worked at St. Anthony's Coffee Shop. She was a member of Sanborn Baptist Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Gaulden was preceded in death by her companion, Joe Crawford, in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Joanna Stewart of Port Orchard, Wash., and Karen Miller of Amarillo; four stepdaughters, Karen Steward, Paula Henry, Valerie Tubbs and Dana Jackson, all of Amarillo; two stepsons, Steve Crawford and David Crawford, both of Amarillo; a sister, Johnnie Imogene Burris of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; ten stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. "Pappy" Hendrick, 91, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field of Southeast Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Hendrick was born in Knox City and grew up in Greer and Harmon County, Okla. During World War II he served as a military policeman. He retired from Thomas Carthage Co., where for many years he delivered freight to Silverton, Quitaque and Turkey. He was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Gregory Hendrick of Amarillo; a daughter, Sue LaBarr of Jenks, Okla.; a stepson, Don Smith of Sherman; a sister, Sarah Morrison of Amarillo; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Reymundo G. Mendoza Reymundo G. Mendoza, 77, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 31, 1998. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Rd. Chapel, 1505 Martin Rd., with Deacon Hector Gallegos of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church by the Rev. Harold L. Waldow, chaplain at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Mendoza was born in Pilares, Mexico. He lived in Hereford for several years before moving to Amarillo in 1980. For 15 years he worked for Gilvin-Terrill Construction Co., retiring in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married Agripina Martinez in Pilares in 1939. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Jose Nieves Mendoza of Hereford, Marcelo Mendoza of Hobbs, N.M., Jesus Mendoza, Lupe Mendoza, Armando Mendoza and Elias Mendoza, all of Amarillo; eight daughters, Olivia Aguirrie, Victoria Rocha, Cecilia DelaCerda, Dora Renteria, Minnie Salinas, Amparo Aranda, Stella Alarcon and Angie Moreno, all of Amarillo; four brothers, Manuel Mendoza of Hereford, Fidel Mendoza, Angel Mendoza and Domingo Mendoza, all of Fresno, Calif.; two sisters, Maria Montez and Aurelia Alvarez, both of Morton; 63 grandchildren; and 97 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1411 N. Grant. Rena Cox Rena Cox, 80, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Carey Skinner, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Cox was born in Athens, Ark. She moved to Amarillo in 1942. For 25 years, she worked as a beautician. She taught Sunday School at South Lawn Baptist Church for several years and was a longtime active member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Carl W. Cox in 1946 at Amarillo. He died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Janis Turley of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Bob Seals of Athens; a sister, Pauline Lipsey of Athens; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. The family will be at 3532 Goodfellow. They request memorials be to Trinity Baptist Church. Jerry Ronald Hobson Jerry Ronald Hobson, 54, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Amarillo South Church of Christ with Brad Small, minister, and Tim McMath, pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Hobson was born in El Dorado, Ark. He attended the University of New Mexico, Wayland Baptist University and West Texas State University, receiving bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering. In 1974 Mr. Hobson moved from Albuquerque, N.M., to Amarillo. He was employed by Pantex as an engineer for more than 24 years. He was a member of Amarillo South Church of Christ. He married Sue Pope in 1996 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Hobson of New York City; a daughter, Michelle Hobson of Amarillo; a stepson, Tim McMath of Canyon; two stepdaughters, Glenda Moore and Melody Ranspot, both of Amarillo; a brother, Jimmy Parker of Elko, Nev.; and six stepgrandchildren. Lewis Holiman Lewis Holiman, 58, of Amarillo, formerly of Midland and Dallas, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Wellington with the Rev. Brian Adams, pastor, and Darin Winger, son-in-law, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Holiman was born at San Angelo. He graduated from Midland High School in 1958, receiving a bachelor's degree in advertising, art and commercial design from Texas Tech University in 1963. He belonged to Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mr. Holiman was an artist and an architectural delineator. He lived in Dallas for 25 years before moving to Amarillo six months ago. He married Patti Hughs in 1962 at Wellington. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tanya Dee Winger of Roanoke and Stacy Lea McCauley of Bedford; his parents, Odis and Viola Holiman of Midkiff; a sister, Marie Early of San Angelo; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Health System/Hospice of Amarillo. New Mexico Teresa Velasco Correon LOGAN, N.M. - Teresa Velasco Correon, 72, died Thursday, July 9, 1998. Memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in San Antonio Catholic Church in Logan. Interment will be in Logan Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Survivors include a son, Lee Gallegos; a daughter, Natalie Gallegos Alvardo; and three grandchildren. Elsewhere Warren Cribbs VERNON - Warren Cribbs, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Strange and the Rev. Ron Fox officiating. Interment will be in Childress Cemetery. Mr. Cribbs was born in Chillicothe, where he graduated from high school. He lived most of his life in Wilbarger and Hardeman counties. In the early 1950s he served in the Navy as a diesel mechanic. He retired as a miller from Vernon Celanese Plant. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He married Patsy Deen Davis in 1954 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; a son, Warren Cribbs of Childress; two daughters, Sherry Torres of Oklaunion and Katra Blacksher of Vernon; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will be at Number 223, Augusta Apartments. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Area Louise Fisher MEMPHIS - Louise Fisher, 75, died July 1, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Gowan officiating. Arrangements were by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Fisher was born in Memphis. She and her husband owned and operated grocery businesses in Pampa and in Oklahoma City for 18 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Memphis. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Fisher, in 1992. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Una Gowdy of Spokane, Wash., and a number of nieces and nephews. Dora Lucile Paschel VEGA - Dora Lucile Paschel, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Bart Horvath, parochial vicar. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Paschel was born in Brentwood, Ark., and had lived in Vega for 17 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and of the Altar Society. She married George Paschel in 1932 at Lenexa, Kan. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jill Paschel, in 1984, and by a daughter, Joan Harwell, in 1987. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Larry Paschel and Michael Paschel, both of Hereford; two brothers, Melvin White of Sparks, Nev., and Edwin White of Bloomington, Minn.; three sisters, Marie Danel of Chico, Calif., and Dot Irvine and Patsy Mills, both of Gridley, Calif.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation will be by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Bayless was born in Springfield, Mo. In 1938 he came to Pampa, where he graduated from high school in 1942. During World War II he served with the Navy. He was the founder of the Pampa Sea Scout Troop in the 1950s. For many years, he was employed as a draftsman at Cabot Machinery Division. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Wanda LaVerne Covington in 1943. Survivors include a son, Gordon D. Bayless Jr. of Houston; a daughter, Wanetta Hill of Pampa; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 1936 Lea. Mrs. Brown was born in Plainview to pioneer residents. After graduating from Plainview High School in 1946, she attended Wayland Baptist University for two years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She married Earl Brown in 1948 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Peggy Wallin of Odessa; a son, Randy Brown of Plainview; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Erath County. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1920 and attended Texas Tech University for one year. A lifelong farmer, he moved to Lamb County in 1930. Mr. Miller was a Wayland Baptist University trustee. He was a board member of Olton Co-Op Gin, Lamb County ASCS and Plains Co-Op Oil Mill in Lubbock, where he also served as a past president. He was a member of First Baptist Church, serving as deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He married Bertha Dement in 1934 at Olton. Survivors include his wife; a son, Elza Lynn Miller of Lubbock; three daughters, Nova Nell Holley of Buchanan Dam, Elizabeth Ann Ball of Houston and Terri Lea Boomer of Lubbock; a brother, Joe Miller of Olton; a sister, Johnnie Caviness of Carlsbad, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Isaac Griffith Solomon DUMAS - Isaac Griffith Solomon, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Robbie Holcomb, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Lockney Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Solomon was born in Bache, Okla. He served with the Army in Europe during World War II and moved to Moore County in 1950. Mr. Solomon was a retired Church of God minister, having been a pastor in Cactus, Amarillo, Olton, Tulia and Seymour. He also had worked for Diamond Shamrock in Moore County, Cut Rate Grocery in Sunray and Green Thumb in Olton. He married Agnes Adelene Worth in 1939 at Estelline. She died in 1973. He married Frances "Irene" Worth Williams in 1973 at Sunray. She died in 1992. He also was preceded in death by four sons, Frankie Douglas Solomon, John Edward Solomon, Larry Eugene Solomon and David Lee Solomon; four daughters, Linda Doris Solomon, Jearlyn Ruth Solomon, Beverly June Solomon and Sharon Ilene Solomon; and a granddaughter, Aarika Jean Kenemore, in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Kuykendall of Dumas and Glenda Currie of Weatherford; a stepdaughter, Treva Rogers of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lavena Gunn of Amarillo and Oleta Schleiter of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
