Shannon Gresham, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Detwiler was born in Cottle County and had been a lifelong Cottle County resident. He was a mechanic and had worked for Ford Motor Co., Anderson Motor Co., Prater Equipment and Big Green Farm Supply. He also farmed and ranched in Cottle County. He was a member of the Paducah Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Detwiler married his wife, Mae, in 1973 at Paducah. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tim Detwiler of Bonham, Robin Detwiler of Plainview and Randy Detwiler of Paducah; three daughters, Syble Wofford of Paducah, Betty McKeehan of Lewisville and Janet Mullin of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Thelma Martin of Paducah; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Carl E. Royer DIMMITT - Carl E. Royer, 63, died Sunday, March 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Randy Gressett, youth minister at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home. Mr. Royer was born in St. Ignatius, Mont. He moved to Dimmitt in 1965. He had been employed by Hyman Farm Service for the past 16 years. There are no known survivors. Ralph Q. Weber BORGER - Ralph Q. Weber, 74, died Monday, March 2, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor, and Andy Dietz, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Weber was born in Bixby, Okla. He had been a Borger resident since 1951, moving from Dewey, Okla. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. He married Fern L. Thomas in 1951 at Dewey. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Strovas of Amarillo and Sharon McMath of Borger; and five grandchildren. Oneida Hayhurst King PLAINVIEW - Oneida Hayhurst King, 72, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Garland Street Church of Christ with Karl King, pastor, and David King, elder at North Oaks Church of Christ in Los Angeles, officiating. Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ in Azle. Burial will be in Azle Land Cemetery in Azle by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. King was born in Gunter. She was a dorm supervisor at Oklahoma Christian University until 1988, when she moved to Plainview. She taught The Three Bears Preschool Class and the Bible and Quiz Class at Garland Street Church of Christ. She married Merle King in 1945 at Mason. He died in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Burnam of Raton, N.M.; three sons, Karl Wayne King of Plainview, Warren King of Bartlesville, Okla., and David King of Los Angeles; two sisters, Fidelia Carter of Conway, Ark., and Wayma Pyle of Harlingen; two brothers, Verner Wayne Hayhurst of Spearsville and Welborn Hayhurst of New Zealand; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Windell Taylor, chaplain at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with military rites by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 26. Mr. Andrews was born in McDonough County, Ill., and had been an Amarillo resident for the past 23 years. He was an Army veteran, serving in Europe during World War II. Mr. Andrews was a farmer in Illinois from 1946 until 1958. He then was employed by Mason and Hanger, Silas-Mason at IAAP in Burlington, Iowa, from 1958 until 1974. He transferred to the Pantex Plant in 1974 and worked there until retiring in 1986. He married Pauline Nathalia Cook in 1942 at Kahoka, Mo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Denise Siens of Carlisle, Iowa, and Kelly Diane Selby of Amarillo; two sons, Thomas Eugene Andrews of Milton, Fla., and Tony Edward Andrews of Amarillo; a sister, Louise Pearson of Oroville, Calif.; two brothers, J. Betty Louise Helms Betty Louise Helms, 55, of Wildorado, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998. She was the owner of Amarillo Montessori Day School for more than 19 years. She was a member of National Center for Montessori Education and Central Church of Christ. She married Jim Helms in 1958 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Dr. Hollis Helms of San Antonio; three daughters, Glenda Scott and B.J. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1947. At that time, he went into business with his dad, Joe F. McBrayer, and brothers, Jody McBrayer and Darrell McBrayer. He married Nella Jo Hill in 1947 at Shamrock. Mr. McBrayer was Baptist. Survivors include a son, Donald Joe McBrayer of Amarillo; a daughter, Lynna Jane Paris of Perry, Fla.; a brother, Jody McBrayer of Amarillo; a sister, Iris Pritchett of Tyler; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Cockrell was born in Campbellton and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1969. He was a career military man, serving 27 years in the Air Force. He had served during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel. Mr. Cockrell married Eunice Thigpen in 1942. He worked as a plant foreman for Helium Operations from 1951 until retiring in 1974. He was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees, the Disabled American Veterans and Paramount Baptist Church. Mr. Carpenter married Doris Walters in 1945 at Mangum, Okla. She moved to Logan in 1954 from Rom Porter. She was a member of Logan First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired postal clerk. Oklahoma Reta Potter Venable FORGAN, Okla. - Reta Potter Venable, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forgan First Baptist Church with Bill Sherrill officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mrs. Venable was born in Flores and raised in Beaver County. She moved to Thousand Oaks four years ago from Silver City. She retired from JC Penney. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Odd Fellows, the Rebekah Lodge, Business and Professional Women's Club and the Home and Garden Club. She also was a member of First Baptist Church and the choir at Silver City. She had been married to Clyde E. Venable for 53 years. Survivors include her husband of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a son, Thomas C. Venable of Thousand Oaks; two sisters, Letha Metheny of Wakeeney, Kan., and Velma Gaona of Forgan; and a granddaughter. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stephens Memorial Chapel in Pryor with the Rev. Carol Riech officiating. Mr. Miller was born in Little Rock, Ark. He attended Western Military Academy in Columbia, Mo. He graduated from high school in Little Rock and then attended a junior college there. He had lived in Spavinaw for the last 22 years, moving from Amarillo. While in Amarillo, he was active with Kids, Inc. Mr. Miller was an insurance adjuster before retiring. He had worked for General Adjustment Bureau and American Insurance Association. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Spavinaw and the Masonic Lodge in Tyler, where he had received his 50-year pin. He was a former member of the Shriners. Mr. Miller married Leota Marshall in 1940 at Houston, Texas. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Medora Williams of Amarillo; a son, John M.
