Ennis PAMPA - Charlsie A. Ennis, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. J.C. Burt, pastor of Barrett Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Ennis was born in Jayton and had been a resident of Pampa for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Clem Lee Ennis in 1931 at Cheyenne, Okla. He died in 1995. She was preceded in death by a son, Cleo Ennis. Survivors include a son, C.L. Ennis Jr. of Pampa; a daughter, Charlene Rich of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; and 28 greatgrandchildren. Raymond S. Yannis FLOYDADA - Raymond S. Yannis, 76, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church by the Rev. John Ohlig. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery. Mr. Yannis was born in Lexington and moved to Floydada in 1974 from Ralls. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Mary Ann Orta in 1946 in Cameron. She died in 1972. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Freddie Yannis, in 1982. Survivors include four sons, Frank Yannis of Georgetown and Raymond Yannis Jr., Erminio Yannis and Victor Yannis, all of Floydada; three daughters, Betty Hernandez and Mary Helen Moreno, both of Floydada, and Olivia Esquivel of Plainview; 35 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. MaryEllen Gardner PAMPA - MaryEllen Gardner, 61, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. Gardner was born in Wausau, Neb., and had been a Pampa resident since 1981. Survivors include five sons, Randy Gardener of Forsyth, Mont., Rod Gardner of Benbolt, Steve Gardner of Japan, and Bill Gardner and Bradley Gardner, both of Pampa; three daughters, Nanci Bergman of Edgewood, N.M., and Kathy Gardner and Pat Gardner, both of Pampa; a brother, Ace Halstead of Santa Rosa, Calif., three sisters, Cleata Steininger of Milwaukee, and Floeen Morrill and Barbara Derr, both of Morrill, Neb.; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Rosa Y. Salinas DIMMITT - Rosa Y. Salinas, 62, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. A vigil service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Guillermo Morales officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Salinas was born in Skidmore and moved to Dimmitt from Muleshoe in 1972. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She married Ysrrael Salinas Sr., in 1958 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Daniel Salinas of Dimmitt and Ysrrael Salinas Jr., and Rocky Salinas, both of Amarillo; seven daughters, Elvia Garza, Estella Salinas and Lamar Salinas, all of Dimmitt, Sandra Gonzales of Amarillo, Margie Hussong of Orange, Sylvia Gonzales of Houston and Rosa Gomez of Skidmore; two brothers, Jesus Ynfante and Juan Ynfante, both of Mathis; three sisters, Manuela Munoz and Angelina Navarro, both of Midland, and Maria Elena Jiminez of Mathis; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Viewing will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Dorman W. Reagan PAMPA - Dorman W. Reagan, 65, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Reagan was born in Durant, Okla. He joined the Army in 1950 and served during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1953. Mr. Reagan was a self-employed plumber and a Baptist. He married Buena Hicks in 1954 at Pampa. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Godfee of Little Rock, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Michelle Sells of Ozark, Mo.; two sisters, Pat Haynes of Pampa and Oma Mandrill of Blanchard, Okla.; a brother, Jerry Reagan of Pampa; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice of Amarillo or the Moose Lodge of Pampa. Susan Harp DALHART - Susan Harp, 25, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Dalhart with Jeff Taylor, minister of Central United Methodist Church of Dalhart, and Mark Metzger, minister of First United Methodist Church of Stratford, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Harp was born and raised in Groom where she graduated from high school in 1991. She received her agriculture business degree in 1995 from West Texas A&M University. While at WTAMU, Mrs. Harp was president of the student body and selected West Texas A&M Woman of the Year in 1994-95. She was a board member of the WTAMU Alumni Association and member of Eta Upsilon sorority. After receiving her teaching certificate in 1996, Mrs. Harp taught kindergarten at Dalhart Elementary. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church where she and her husband taught Senior High Sunday School Class and she served on numerous church boards. She married Barry Harp in 1995 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; her parents, Kenneth and Linda Babcock of Groom; a sister, Karen Babcock of Amarillo; a brother, Clint Babcock of Groom; her grandparents, Jonnie Stout of Clarendon and E.N. "Bud" Babcock of Groom. Maxine Owens Sanders CANADIAN - Maxine Owens Sanders, 77, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Canadian with the Rev. Gary Jahnel, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Sanders was born in Honey Grove. She move to Canadian from Miami in 1933 and graduated from Canadian High School in 1940. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Tri C Extension Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames. She married Leonard Sanders in 1947 at Canadian. Survivors include her husband; a son, Howard Sanders of Amarillo; a daughter, Shirley Rogers of Canadian; a brother, L.B. "Curley" Owens of Dumas; four sisters, Louise Moore and Nona Elkins, both of Canadian, Lolian Whaley of Oklahoma City and Peggy Price of Grand Junction, Colo.; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center. Amarillo Shane Jones Shane Jones, 29, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage, with Robert Frazier, elder of the Quail Creek Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Cremation was handled by Rector Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1988 with honors. He worked as an electrician at Iowa Beef Processors for three years and worked for Frisbie Janitorial for seven years. He attended the Quail Creek Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Jennifer Frisbie in 1995 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; his mother and stepfather, Janie and Jerry Hensley of Amarillo; a sister, Jennifer Hensley of Amarillo; a brother, Toby Phillips of Amarillo; and his grandparents, Maxine Diaz of Borger and Johnie Jones of Amarillo. The family will be at 300 N. Girl Scout Road and 3208 S. Vernon St. Anita Gonzalez Anita Gonzalez, 46, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Oscar Maldonado of New Life Family Outreach Church officiating. Arrangements are by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Cuero and moved to Amarillo 25 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Forrest Hills Assembly of God. Survivors include her mother, Rosa Gonzales of Amarillo; two sisters, Lydia Zarate and Helen Arredondo, both of Amarillo; and a brother, H.R. "Ricky" Gonzales of Amarillo. The body will not be available for viewing. Elsewhere Carl Eugene Thomas WETUMPKA, Ala. - Carl Eugene "Butch" Thomas, 54, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are by Gassett Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas was born in Streator, Ill. He was retired from the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Robert Lee Thomas and Gregory Alan Thomas, both of Texas, and Timothy Michael Thomas of New Jersey; two daughters, Tamra Michelle King of Streator and Teresa Dawn Smith of Prattville; three brothers, Harry Thomas and Ben Thomas, both of Streator and Lee Roy Thomas of Lake Charles, La.; two sisters, Shirley Nicholas and Marilyn Holmes, both of Streator; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Christopher Renee Tolbert ROBERTSDALE, Ala. - Christopher Renee Tolbert, 28, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Robertsdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. David McVay officiating. Arrangements were by Mack Funeral Home of Robertsdale, Ala. Mr. Tolbert was born in Borger, Texas, and was in the Navy at the time of his death. He was a veteran of Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Restore Hope in Somali. Mr. Tolbert was awarded the National Defense, Southwest Asia, two Bronze Stars, Kuwait Liberation, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Good Conduct and Rifle Marksman medals. He received Navy Unit Commendation and Joint Meritorious ribbons. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin R. Tolbert. Survivors include his wife, Catherine N. Tolbert; two daughters, Mikelyn M. Tolbert of Robertsdale and Sarah L. Tolbert of Des Moines, Iowa; his father, Paul E. Tolbert of Childress, Texas; his stepfather, Steve Guerrero of Liberal, Kan.; five sisters, Wa-landa Browning and Adina Bennett, both of Conroe, Texas, Sonja Tolbert and Lelania Guerrero, both of Aurora, Colo., and Donda Haney of Pennsylvania; and three brothers, Mike Tolbert of Amarillo, Dicky Tolbert of Mullinville, Kan., and Timbo Tolbert of Dahlgren, Va. Royse L. Shires ABERNATHY - Royse L. Shires, 81, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie White, pastor of Church on the Rock of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Shires was a veteran of the Army. He moved to Abernathy from California in 1964. From 1968 until his retirement in 1985, he was a carrier for the Abernathy Post Office. Mr. Shires owned the Abernathy Laundry. He was a member of the American Legion, Abernathy Masonic Lodge and Abernathy First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Agness Shires; a son, Garald Shires of Elgin, Ill.; a daughter, Glenda Jones of Lubbock; three brothers, Burney Shires of Amarillo, Dick Shires of Olympia, Wash., and Gayle Shires of Meadview, Ariz.; a sister, Lynda Wilkerson of Prescott, Ariz.; three grandchildren;and a great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter. Billy Jack Rigdon LUBBOCK - Billy Jack Rigdon, 75, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Lockney with the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Rigdon was born in Lockney and attended school in Becton. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He moved to Lubbock from Lockney in 1970. Mr. Rigdon was retired from counseling with Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a member of the Lubbock Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include a son, Billy James Powers; two brothers, Joe Rigdon of Gladstone, Mo., and Robert Rigdon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two sisters, Rochelle Dorman of Plainview and Mary Moore of Lubbock.
