Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Brannan was born in Indian Gap and had lived in Moore County for 54 years. She recently moved to Buena Park, Calif. She was a housewife and a member of Sixth & S. Meredith Church of Christ. She married Lorman H. Brannan in 1941 in Hamilton County. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Glenda Kay Willey of Buena Park; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 1207 Zauk. Preston Woods QUITAQUE - Preston "Shorty" Woods, 83, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Church of Christ with J.D. Nance, Elgin Conner and Delos Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Woods was born in Kent County and moved to Briscoe County in 1919. He was a farmer. He married Ruby Mae McKay in 1937. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Woods Corgill of Midland; a son, Terry Woods of Lubbock; two brothers, Carl Woods of Plainview and James Woods of Quitaque; two sisters, Opal Hamilton and Ruth Phelps, both of Quitaque; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter. Jesse Clinton Hodges QUANAH - Jesse Clinton Hodges, 58, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Hodges was born in Turkey and moved to Quanah in 1946 where he graduated from high school in 1962. In 1993, he retired after 22 years with the Georgia Pacific Gypsum Mill. He married Mary Nell Oliver in 1964 at Quanah. He was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Clinton Hodges, in 1983. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tommie of Perryton and Timmie of Abilene; a daughter, Alice Guzman of Vernon; his mother, Era Hodges of Quanah; three sisters, Patsy Wallace of Dayton, Peggy Pruitt of Quanah and Barbara Davenport of Pflugerville; and four grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Louvaine B. Scaff MATADOR - Louvaine B. Scaff, 78, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in East Mound Cemetery at Matador with the Rev. Monte Wilke, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Matador, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Scaff was born in Motley County where she was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and member of the Methodist Church. She married Charlie Scaff in 1939 at Turkey. He died in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Roger Scaff of Sanger and Tommy Scaff of Bovina; three daughters, Jane Cartwright of Amarillo and Jill Scaff and Joyce McCarty, both of Odessa; her father, J.B. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Boren, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by EllisBlackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. White was born in Cairo, Kan., and moved to Friona in 1925. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Friona where she was the oldest living member. She was a member of the Federated Women's Club, Friona Women's Society, Rebekah Lodge and Friona Senior Citizens. From 1947 until 1976, Mrs. White and her husband owned and operated White's Grocery. She married Edward S. White Sr., in 1925 at Bovina. He preceded her in death in 1977. Survivors include three sons, Edward White Jr., and Richard White, both of Friona, and Raymond White of Richland, Mich.; six daughters, Anna Lee Campbell, Irene Roberts and June Cannon, all of Amarillo, May Holder of Azle, Sue Hinds of Canyon and Lois Nolte of Midland; a sister, Ruby McIntosh of Chanute, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She moved to Borger from Lazbuddie. A homemaker, she was a member of the Borger Church of God. She married Deane Friend in 1975 at Borger. She was preceded in death by a son. Beulah Mae Baker FLOYDADA - Beulah Mae Baker, 87, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Baker was born in Checotah, Okla., and attended schools in Oklahoma and Floydada. She had lived in Floydada since 1928. A homemaker, she was a member of City Park Church of Christ, Senior Citizens and a volunteer for Spirit of Sharing. She married Francis Earl Baker in 1928 at Floyd County. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, two sons, Ken Baker in 1992, and Bobby Earl Baker in 1932, and by a daughter, Wanda Pearl Baker, in 1936. Survivors include a daughter, Nell Sue of Ralls; two sisters, Evelyn Leatherman of Weatherford and Dolly Burgett of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Ochiltree County Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Riggins was born and raised in Perryton. He attended schools in Perryton and Spearman, graduating from Perryton High School in 1980. In 1982, he graduated from Oklahoma State Technical University. Mr. Riggins was employed in the oil industry. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and youth director. He married Lynette Meyer in 1982 at Perryton. Survivors include his wife; a son, Chance Riggins of the home; a daughter, Tanisha of the home; his parents, C.D. and Jimmie Riggins of Perryton; a brother, Rick Riggins of Lubbock; and a sister, Resa Poe of Midland. Hughes St. Mrs. Foster was born in Rogers and had lived in Amarillo for 20 years. Survivors include two sons, Terry Richardson and John Rogers, both of Amarillo; and a granddaughter. John A. Behrens John A. Behrens, 80, of 3209 Parker St., died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with Monsignor Francies A. Smyer of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Behrens was born in Atchison, Kan., and attended Purdue University and Benedictine College in Atchison. He received his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Germany. After 37 years, he retired as mechanical engineer from Shell Oil Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He moved to Amarillo 11 years. He married Kay Gaut in 1988 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Frances Shaefer of Houston; and many nieces and nephews. Noel Kenneth Chandler Noel Kenneth Chandler, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth, with Walt Ellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Chandler was born in Belk and moved to Amarillo 43 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1986, he retired as auto body repairman from Plains Chevrolet. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Chandler of Amarillo and Billy F. Chandler of Wolfforth; four daughters, Barbara Ann Womack and Beverly Lyn Chandler, both of Amarillo, Brenda Jo Opela of Cleburne and Belinda Lee Edwards of Pampa; a brother, J.C. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Henderson was born in Aquilla. He was raised in Childress and moved to Amarillo 53 years ago. Until his retirement, he owned and operated Henderson Trailer Sales. He was active in the Bell Avenue Church of Christ. He married Wilma Roberts in 1926 at Childress. She died 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Jackye Brown of Amarillo; a sister, Euleta Hunter of Amarillo; two brothers, Speck Henderson of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Dude Henderson of Childress; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Glover was born in Texico and was a lifelong resident of Curry County, living in the Pleasant Hill community for many years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Webber. Survivors include her husband, Noble; her children, Alfred Glover of Cushing, Okla., Boyce Glover of Friona, Texas, Glenda Harris and Gall Glover, both of Las Vegas, Nev., Karen Arnold of Sacramento, Calif., and Violet White of Seattle; a brother, Herbert Singletery of Brownfield, Texas; a sister, Lavern Davis of Hunnington, Texas; 36 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and nine greatgreat-grandchildren. Cecil H. Alls CLOVIS, N.M. - Cecil H. Alls, 85, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery at Santa Fe with military honors by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Alls was born in Gatling, Texas, and moved to Clovis in 1962. He had worked as a cowboy on the Matador and the 4-6's Ranches and was a member of the PRCA. He was an Army veteran and served in Northern Africa and Italy during World War II. He was a Baptist. He married Aline Hinkle in 1948 at Santa Rosa. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Burton Jr. and Robert Owens. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sidney Burton of Holaday, Tenn.; two daughters, Mary Romo and Claudia Underwood, both of Clovis; four brothers, John Alls of Amarillo, O.S. Alls of Denver and Orville Alls and Henry Alls, both of Clovis; 10 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Fannie Hilliard PORTALES, N.M. - Fannie Hilliard, 96, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Word of Life Church with the Rev. Mike Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Hilliard was born in Bruceton, Tenn., and moved to Portales in 1941, from Hot Springs, where she had lived since 1939. She married Lewis B. Hilliard in 1924 at Westport, Tenn. They owned and operated Parkway Grocery in Portales for many years. She attended Word of Life Church. Survivors include a son, James O. Hilliard of Amarillo; three daughters, Wynama Tucker, Mary Helon Hilliard and Glenda Mae Camp, all of Portales; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Orten Robertson CLOVIS, N.M. - Orten Robertson, 84, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Sandia Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Welch officiating. Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery at Portales by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mr. Robertson was born on the JBuckle Ranch near Reed, Okla. He graduated from high school as salutatorian of his class at Ladessa School at Mangum, Okla. He worked on various ranches and farms until 1943, when he was employed by the Santa Fe Railway as a brakeman for 38 years. He was a member of the United Transportation Union for more than 50 years. He lived in Portales from 1950 until 1969, when he moved to Clovis. He married Helen Clower in 1933 at Gould, Okla. She died in May, 1969. He married Edsel Lewis later in the year. She died in 1973. In 1974, he married Ellen Bowers. She died in 1995. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Robertson of Albuquerque; three daughters, Natessia Greenfield of Boerne, Texas, Betty Frazier of Tatum and Mildred "Micky" Weatherman of Denton, Texas; a brother, John Story of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Clyde S. Dunning BROADVIEW, N.M. - Clyde "Spin" Dunning, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church of Grady with the Rev. Gene Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Grady Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Dunning was born in Hobart, Okla. He was a lifetime resident of Curry County and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Grady. He married Alice Lea Mattlock in 1929 in Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sunny Dunning of Grady; a daughter, Minnie Joe Hultman of Clovis; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing until 9 a.m. today at the church. Oklahoma Vernon Pierson HARDESTY, Okla. - Vernon Pierson, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Range Cemetery with the Rev. Don Calvert, pastor of Hardesty United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mr. Pierson was born in Range. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Swift Packing Plant in Guymon. Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Lamb of Gruver, Texas, and Clarice Gilbert of Hardesty; and a brother, Alvis Pierson of Oroville, Calif.
