Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Jimmy Beggs, associate of Caprock Fellowship Church, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Mr. Giesler was born in Pampa and was raised in Amarillo and McLean. For 22 years, he was a pipe fitter for Brown and Root. He had moved to Pasadena in 1968. He married Virginia Lee Bounds in 1963 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Deana Brawley of Everett, Wash., Tammy Lee Cook and Karen Fluckiger, both of Pasadena; a son, Ronald Dean Giesler Jr., of Deer Park; two sisters, Martina Giesler of Oklahoma City and Denise Ashby of Las Cruces, N.M.; and 11 grandchildren; The family will be at 807 S. A wake will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. today at Warford-Walker Mortuary. Services will be at 2 p.m Thursday in Community of Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Velma Vergara-Esqueda, pastor, and Curtis Berry, evangelist, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes. Mrs. Tomlin was a native of Gainesville and had been a resident of the Panhandle area for more than 65 years. In 1965, she retired as a teacher from the Borger Independent District after teaching for more than 40 years in the Panhandle area. She was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church and the Court of Calanthe Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Raleigh Tomlin, in 1963. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Osage St. Mrs. Hand was born and raised in Amarillo. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She was a homemaker and member of Eastridge Church of Christ. She married John Blix Hand in 1947 at Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Marian M. Mattingly of Amarillo; two sons, Damon D. Hand and Doyle W. Mrs. Ortiz was born in Mora and was a longtime resident of Raton. She moved to Clayton in 1991. She married Amalio C. Ortiz in 1924 at Ocate. Mr. Henson was born in Red Bay, Ala., and had lived in Clovis since 1965. He retired from the Air Force after serving 22 years, with three years of duty in Vietnam. He owned and operated O.W.'s Mobile Home & Transport. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3280 and Melrose Masonic Lodge No. 39 AF&AM at Melrose. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Henson. Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise; a daughter, Bobbi Lyons of Clovis; a son, Robert E. Lyons of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Mary N. Owen Shaw Shumate, 88, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Eastview Cemetery at Vernon, Texas, with Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Shumate was born north of Vernon in the Doans-Fargo community, where she attended school. In 1954, she received a bachelor's degree in education from Eastern New Mexico University at Portales. In Curry County, she taught at schools in Field, Grady, Ranchvale and Melrose. She also taught at Floyd in Roosevelt County. She retired in 1972 and was a member of the New Mexico Teachers Hall of Fame. She married the Rev. Melvin Shaw in 1928. He died in 1946. When she married Raymond Shumate in 1959, they lived in the Melrose community until his death in 1975. She lived in Roswell and Portales before returning to Melrose in 1989. The last few years she had lived in the Farwell Convalescent Center at Farwell, Texas. Survivors include a son, Pat Earle Shaw of Yukon, Okla.; stepchildren, Helen Gonser and Carol Pierce, both of Clovis, Bettie Hall of Belin, J.R. Shumate of Waco, Texas, and Shirlee Williams of Cypress, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Parrigin of Vernon, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She married Joseph Virgil Brock in 1936 at Wheeler. He died in 1974. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Jolene Weis, in 1988. Mrs. Wester was born in Huntingdon, Tenn., where she attended schools prior to her high school graduation from Chilhowee Baptist Academy in Knoxville, Tenn. She was a retired school teacher, having done most of her teaching in Tennessee. In 1995, at age 84, Mrs. Wester received an honorary degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Floydada. She married Truman Boyd in 1929 at Corinth, Miss. He preceded her in death in 1973. Her second marriage was to J.C. Wester in 1976 when she moved from Plainview to Floydada. He died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Larry Boyd of Beaumont and Edgar Boyd of Shallowater; two daughters, Jo Payne of Floydada and Jane Englert of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepsons, Dr. Bill Wester of Weatherford and Dr. James Wester of Garland; a stepdaughter, Jean Jones of Floydada; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. He had been employed by RGIS Inventory Service and was a Methodist. Mrs. Storey was born and raised in Houston. She had been employed as housekeeper and cook by Richard Sitlington. She married her husband in Houston. He died in 1940. She is survived by her special friend, Richard Sitlington. Delbert O. MurrayMcLEAN - Delbert O. Murray, 83, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in McLean United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Lamb Funeral Home. Mr. Murray was born in Raton, N.M. For many years, he was employed as a boiler fireman for a sawmill in Oregon. He married Loyce Landers in 1940 at Raton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bart Murray of Baker City, Ore., and Rogers Murray of Boring, Ore.; and a sister, Mildred Marnell of El Monte, Calif. Thomason, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bowie Street Church of Christ with Haun Kite, minister of North Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Thomason was born in Dike and made his home in Dodson and Wellington for many years. He was a rancher on the Mill Iron and CeeVee Ranch and also worked as a farmer. In 1955, he moved to Earle, Ark., where he was employed in a grocery warehouse. He returned to Wellington in 1983 and attended the Church of Christ. He married Joanna White Bush in 1986 at Wellington. His first marriage was to Frieda Forehand in 1955. She preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Aline Dickerson of Denver and Billie Ruth Hassell of Thornton, Colo.; a stepsister, Vivian Royal of Wellington; a stepson, Billy Dean Bush of Phoenix; three stepdaughters, Bobbie Jo Kincaid of Pekin, Ill., Betty Gayle Onken of Manito, Ill., and Beverly Sue Peek of Princeville, Ill.; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
