Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Tyrone Cemetery at Tyrone, Okla. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Southern was born in Anson. He moved to Pampa in 1962 from Tyrone. He worked for Cities Service Oil Co. for 20 years and farmed for many years. He retired in 1972. He was a member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. He married Edna Prescott in 1966 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Peggy Greb of Lawton, Okla.; a son, Ancel Southern of Pryor, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Mary Lou Winegeart of Pampa; a sister, Pansy McGuire of Texas City; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hobart Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Burt, pastor of Barrett Baptist Church, and the Rev. Harold Hook, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hinkle was born in Darty, Okla. She lived in Canute, Okla., for 37 years before moving to Pampa in 1958. She had was a member of Hobart Baptist Church for 37 years and taught Sunday school for 20 years. She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician for 10 years. She married Lloyd L. Hinkle in 1933 at Hollis, Okla. Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Hinkle of Pampa; a daughter, Gail Cooper of Pampa; two brothers, W.M. Spears of Canute and Johnny Spears of Elk City, Okla.; four sisters, Billie Ruddell of Midwest City, Okla., Pearl Blakemore of Canute, Dorothy Silva of San Jose, Calif., and Mary Walcutt of Washington; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Blancett was born in Marshall County, Ala., and had lived in Borger for 60 years. He was a veteran of the Cavalry, serving from 1930 to 1936. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He was a retired manager of Miller Washateria. He married Jimmie Lois Short in 1936 at Lubbock. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Fay Blancett, in 1968. Blancett of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild Marion Ray Ownbey STINNETT - Marion Ray Ownbey, 97, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998. Mr. Ownbey was born on the banks of the Washita River in Indian Territory. He had been a Stinnett resident for 95 years. He was a rancher and a farmer. He was a member of First Christian Church of Stinnett and was a founder of the Stinnett Kiwanis. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Chisum of Stinnett and Johnnie Ray Manning of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters, Buelah Ben Bort of Gruver and Ona Faye Watkins of Spearman; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mary Greenhill SHAMROCK - Mary Greenhill, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Greenhill was born in Brandon and had lived in Shamrock since 1934. She worked at Southard's Grocery and Bob's IGA. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She married E. Douglas Greenhill in 1932 at Lake Charles, La. He died in 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Hopkins of Crowley and Marilyn Mounce of Shamrock; two sisters, Minnie McBreatry and Elsie Bonner, both of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. Ruth Naomi Wilhelm WELLINGTON - Ruth Naomi Wilhelm, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998. Mrs. Wilhelm was born in Ralph, Okla. She graduated from Ada High School in Ada, Okla., and attended college in Las Vegas, N.M. She married Ben Wilhelm in 1937. He died in 1984. She was a a member of First Baptist Church and a longtime member of Keenagers, WMU and the Naomi Sunday School Class. She also was a homebound director, aiding those who were sick and homebound. She married Otis Storm in 1948 at Lake Charles, La. He died in 1993. He worked for KPDN radio for several years and then for Beacon Supply Co. until retiring. He married Berlener Hicks in 1952 at Midland. Mr. Randon was a member of Open Door Church of God in Christ. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Marcus Randon of Amarillo and Michael Randon of Dallas; a sister, Fredonia Arnold of Hollis, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Ernest Andrews MCLEAN - Ernest Andrews, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Campbell was born in Amherst. He was a shift supervisor for the Cerestar USA Co. in Dimmitt for more than 27 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Central Church of Christ. Harry Charles McLaurin Harry Charles McLaurin, 71, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. McLaurin was born in Plainview and had been a lifelong Plainview resident. He worked for Bryan-Hoffman Construction until 1965, when he opened Harry's Glass and Body Shop. He served with the Army during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and College Heights Baptist Church. Mr. McLaurin married Earnest Mae Fields in 1944 at Plainview. She died in December. Mrs. Hays was born in Balko, Okla. She had lived in Allison most of her life. She attended Allison schools and graduated from Allison High School. She married Leon O. Hays in 1937 at Gageby. He died in 1979. Mrs. Hays was a homemaker. She also assisted her husband in farming and ranching. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She moved to Amarillo three years ago. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. McLaughlin was born in Lone Wolf, Okla. He had lived in the Spearman area for 56 years, moving from Lone Wolf. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Spearman Church of Christ. He married Jo Jackson in 1948 at Spearman. He married Nellie Cleone Smith in 1940 at McLean. She preceded him in death. Oklahoma Carl Gerlach CADDO, Okla. - Carl "Duckey" Gerlach, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, in Durant. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church at Memphis, Texas. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis by Spicer Funeral Home of Memphis. Mrs. Gerlach was born in Memphis. She was a member of the Methodist church in Memphis. She married Alvis Gerlach in 1921 at Memphis. He died in 1959. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Ruyle. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Gerlach of Caddo; a sister, Ruby Thompson of Abilene, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Elsewhere The Rev. Archie Echols and Dr. Clifford Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery by AllenKorzenewski Funeral Home. Rev. Kirby was born in Westminster. He was a member of Gen. Patton's Third Army, a detachment of the Army Air Corps, during World War II. He graduated from Colorado City High School, McMurry University and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He had been a minister in the United Methodist Church since 1948. He served churches in the Northwest Texas Conference including Lubbock, Seagraves, Stanton, Friona, Quanah, Littlefield, Snyder and Perryton. He served as chaplain for Kings Manor in Hereford before retiring in 1987. He was employed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home from 1987 until the time of his death. Rev. Kirby married Doris Rosamond Sample in 1946. She preceded him in death. He married Evelyn L. Vineyard in 1969 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carolyn Hefner of Sweetwater, and Pat Preston and Jan Hoover, both of Abilene; a brother, Dr. J. Edmund Kirby of Abilene; a sister, Beola Rector of Marble Falls; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
