Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Missionary Baptist Church In Paducah with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mr. Rose was born in Anson. He had lived in Paducah since the age of 6 before moving to Childress seven years ago. He retired from the Texas Highway Department after working for 36 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah. Survivors include his wife, Annie Ree; two daughters, Jan Hinton and Evelyn Shanks, both of Childress; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Beth M. Lemons MEMPHIS - Beth Minette Moreland Lemons, 89, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home. Mrs. Lemons was born in Bokchito, Okla. She attended school in Durant, Okla., and began her studies in education at Southeastern University. She later studied at North Texas State University and earned her degree from West Texas State University. She moved to Memphis in 1928 to teach. She taught English in the Memphis schools for 30 years. Mrs. Lemons was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, the Friendship Class, the Victory Class, the Fidelis Fellowship and the Women's Bible Study. She also was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, the 1913 Study Club and the Retired Teachers Association. After she retired from teaching, she purchased her interest in her Choctaw Indian Heritage and presented many programs to local clubs. Mrs. Lemons was named Mother of the Year in 1963. She married Robert Clifford "Sug" Lemons in 1930. He died 1980. Survivors include a son, John Lemons of Canyon; four daughters, Betty Lemons Pelfrey of Canyon, Judy Lemons Davidson of McAllen, Mary Ann Lemons of Amarillo and Bobbie Lemons True of Beaumont; four sisters, Mrs. Tom Miller, Mrs. George Haire and Mrs. Ann Newell, all of Dallas, and Mrs. M.D. Jordan of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ruth B. Greene PAMPA - Ruth B. Greene, 85, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Glover, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Greene was born in Newkirk, Okla. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1928. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, the Sonshine Club, the Dorcus Sunday School Class and the homebound department. She also was a member of the Wayside Club and the Pampa Senior Citizens. She married W.A. "Bill" Greene in 1928 at Kansas. He died in 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Goode of Clovis, N.M., and Nellie Beth McDonough of Happy; three sons, Hunky Greene and Jim Greene, both of Pampa, and Richard Greene of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crisp was born in Dallas. She had lived in Quanah most of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Woodrow Crisp in 1967 at Quanah. Survivors include her husband. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Versa Loree Evans New TULIA - Versa Loree Evans New, 88, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. New was born and raised in Swisher County. She attended school at Word and then at the Union Hill community, where she graduated from high school. She married John David New in 1928 at Swisher County. He died in 1987. Mrs. New worked for many years at City Drug Store in Tulia. She was a member of Lums Chapel Baptist Church, near Littlefield. Survivors include a daughter, Billie Sue Gayler of Tulia; a brother, T.D. Evans of Tulia; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Swisher County Museum children's program fund. George Franklin McGee DUMAS - George Franklin McGee, 76, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Tom Lane, senior pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, officiating. Additional services will be at 3 p.m. in Llano Mausoleum Chapel in Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. McGee was born in Lone Wolf, Okla., and had been a resident of Dumas since 1956. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1945 aboard the USS Ruben James. He was an operating engineer for Pantex and was a member of the Pantex Retired Operation of Engineers of Amarillo. He also was a member of First Baptist Church and the Dumas Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. McGee married Iola Moore in 1945 at Wichita, Kan. She died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Gene Blythe of Lubbock; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a friend, Lois Zint of Amarillo. The family will be at 815 N.E. 3rd. Jones BORGER - Frances D. Jones, 80, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Houston. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sammie Rainey, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, and the Rev. David Purl, pastor of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jones was born in Pittsburgh, Kan. She moved from Kansas to Borger when she was 14. She married J. Ellsworth Jones in 1936 at Phillips. He died in 1976. Mrs. Jones was employed at the Union Store, the Montgomery Ward catalog store and Bealls in Borger. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Women. She also volunteered at the Hutchinson County Museum. Mrs. Jones had lived in League City for the past year and a half. Survivors include a daughter, Delores F. Jones of League City; a son, E. Maurice Jones of Etters, Pa.; a sister, Marguerite McClellan of New Braunfels; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. G.H. Buchenau Sr. PLAINVIEW - G.H. Buchenau Sr., 80, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery at Olton. Mr. Buchenau was born in Abilene, Kan. He grew up in Tulia, graduated from high school and attended Texas Tech University. He married Bonnie Bert Miller in 1942 at Lamb County. She died in 1986. In 1945, Mr. Buchenau moved to Olton, where he owned a water well business until 1962, when he moved to Plainview. He was a parts department supervisor for Green Machinery Co. before retiring in 1986. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Nancee Smith of New Braunfels; two sons, George Buchenau Jr. of Amarillo and Randee Buchenau of Alvord; a sister, Paulene Sanderson of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Hale County Senior Citizens Center. Ed Davis SHAMROCK - Ed Davis, 74, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Mr. Davis was born in Kelton and had lived most of his life in Wheeler County. He ranched on the Davis Ranch for many years until joining the Marines in 1947. He served in World War II and the Korean War and later retired from the Marine Corps. He was a member of Moorwood Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Davis married Elizabeth Woodall in 1970 at Ellis County. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles of El Paso, Paul of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ed Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; four daughters, Pearl and Donna, both of Canon City, Colo., Linda of Reno, Nev., and Norma Dee Bickwell of Montana; two sisters, Claudine Tacket of Abilene and Frances Mangine of Middleton, Conn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Howard was born in Johnson County and moved to Wheeler County in 1917. She had lived in Glazier since 1952. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She married Everett R. Howard in 1952 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1986. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Gomez, in 1996. She attended Canadian schools. She married Jerry McElreath in 1941 at Canadian. He died in 1996. Mrs. McElreath was a bookkeeper for the Mobil service center, which was owned by her husband, and also for the Gulf service center. She was a member of First Baptist Church and WCTU. Survivors include two brothers, Wayne Baker of Canadian and Elvis Baker of Edmond, Okla.; and two sisters, Lorene McCormick of Miami and Marie Baker of Canadian. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Morse was born in Altoona, Pa. He moved to Amarillo in 1991 from San Angelo. He was a musician and led many church choirs. He married Louise Beck in 1941 at Indian Town Gap, Pa. Survivors include his wife; and a brother R.J. "Bob" Morse of Napa, Calif. The body will not be available for viewing. Earl Black Retired Master Sgt. Earl Black, 64, of 5210 Leigh Ave., died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dr. Howard Batson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Black was born in Collinsville, Ala. He moved to Amarillo in 1962 from Seoul, Korea. He married Kum Sun U in 1961 at Seoul. Mr. Black was a career military man, having served with the Air Force for 26 years before retiring at the rank of master sergeant. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Germany and several United States locations. He had received several military campaign honors and awards. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Bill Black of Amarillo, and Bobby Black and Phil Black, both of Atlanta; and five sisters, Margaret Cochran, Kitty Burt, Nancy Thompson and Francis Greggory, all of Fort Payne, Ala., and Mary Foster of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Comstock, in 1943. The body will not be available for viewing. New Mexico Jewel C. McFarland CLOVIS, N.M. - Jewel C. McFarland, 94, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Mrs. McFarland was born in Weatherford, Texas, and had lived in Clovis since 1980. She attended La Casita School. She married Benjamin Loyd McFarland in 1923. They owned and operated McFarland's Grocery and Meat Market on west Grand for many years. He died in 1951. Mrs. McFarland was a member of Sixteenth and Pile Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Bennye Lou Hein of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Jack C. McFarland of the home and Mickey Loyd McFarland of Farmington; a sister, Billie Leach of Roswell; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Ethel O. Fuller PORTALES, N.M. - Ethel O. Fuller, 91, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church at Lordsburg with the Rev. David White and the Rev. Wayne Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery at Lordsburg by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Fuller was born in Bethel, Okla., and moved to Lordsburg when she was 13 years old. She worked in the cotton fields in Arizona as a young girl. She married Raymond W. Fuller in 1922 and moved to the ranch west of Lordsburg. Mr. Fuller died in 1968. Mrs. Fuller was a member of First Baptist Church of Lordsburg. Survivors include a son, Wayne Fuller of Portales; and a brother, William McClain of Duncan, Ariz. Burton O. Ward LOGAN, N.M. - Burton O. Ward, 82, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Santa Rosa. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ward was born in Forrest. He moved to Logan seven years ago from Portales. He was a former member of First Christian Church in Clovis and a member of Grace Baptist Church of Portales and the Old Time Fiddlers Association in Truth or Consequences. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Ward married Dorothy Terrell in 1941 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tanoa Ward of Thoreau; a daughter, Delores Fox of Evans, W.Va.; a brother, Truman Ward of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Minnie Ola Stewart of Spur, Texas; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Oklahoma Byron Ward Morris TUTTLE, Okla. - Byron Ward Morris, 83, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are by Bill Merritt South Funeral Service of Oklahoma City. Mr. Morris was born in Howe, Texas. He was inducted into the Army Air Corps in 1941. He received training in the United States and served with the 20th Bomb Command. He was honorably discharged in 1944 at the rank of master sergeant. He married Virginia Carter in 1943 at Great Bend, Kan. They moved from Kansas in 1945 to Oklahoma City, where Mr. Morris took a job at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired from there in 1972. In 1954, they moved to a farm in Tuttle. His wife preceded him in death. Mr. Morris was an attorney and a municipal judge. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Williams of Oklahoma City and Virginia Fitzgerald of Amarillo; four sons, Richard K. Morris of Jenks, Byron Eugene Morris of Midwest City, and Donald Lee Morris and Tommy Ray Morris, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers; four sisters; 19 grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Canyon Zelma Ruth Allmon Noel Zelma Ruth Allmon Noel, 68, of Canyon, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, and Bob Shepherd, minister at West Texas A&M Bible Chair, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Noel was born in Fowler, Meade County, Kan. She worked at West Texas State University as a secretary. She was a member of University Church of Christ, the University Study Club and the Secretaries Association. She married Gene Noel in 1964 at Hereford. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lynn Noel of Amarillo and Micheal L. Noel of Wilburton, Okla.; a daughter, Debrah Kay Cunningham of Castroville; two sisters, Mary Lou Aven of Hereford and Phyllis Deaton of Houston; a brother, Charles Allmon of Austin; and seven grandchildren. Kritzler, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998. Services were Tuesday in Holy Trinity Methodist Church. Burial was in San Jacinto Memorial Park by Carter Funeral Home. Dr. Kritzler was born in Kenton, Ohio. He received his bachelor of science degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, in 1940. He received his doctorate of osteopathic medicine from the University of Health Science in Kansas City, Mo., in 1944. He practiced general medicine in McLean from 1945 to 1955. He then specialized in radiology and was associated with Doctor's Hospital and Eastway General Hospital, both in Houston, from 1955 until retiring in 1983. Dr. Kritzler was a member of McLean Lodge No. 889 AF&AM. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; two sons, Eric Nelson Kritzler of Houston and James H. Kritzler of Pearland; a daughter, Ellen Kay Hines of Houston; a brother, Nelson Kritzler of Kenton, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
