Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Baptist Church in Borger with the Rev. Mike Smith, pastor, and the Rev. A.F. Casey of First Baptist Church in Fritch officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Resthaven, Highland Park, Borger, by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mr. Munholland was born in Heavener, Okla. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. A resident of Hutchinson County since 1957, he retired from the Sanford-Fritch Independent School District, where he worked in bus maintenance. He was a member and associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Fritch. He married Rose Ott in 1946 in Latimer County, Okla. Survivors include his son, Tom Munholland of Amarillo; six daughters, Chum Castleberry and Connie Tindall, both of Borger, Elaine Henderson of Weatherford, Okla., Debbie Killins of Stinnett, Leanne Wilkinson of Amarillo and Penny Hodges of Fritch; a brother, Gene Munholland of Durant, Okla.; two sisters, Gracie Canfield of Phoenix and Bertha Coy of Snyder; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Dickie Don Godfrey DUMAS - Dickie Don Godfrey, 55, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Godfrey was born in Amarillo and raised in Dumas, where he had lived since 1948. For the last 12 years he had been employed to do meter maintenance by the city of Dumas. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Joyce M. Genn in 1965 at Dumas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Ann Godfrey, in 1994. Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Edith Staton of Dumas. The family will be at 119 S. Birge. Frank Montgomery MATADOR - Frank Montgomery, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Matador Church of Christ with Gerald Fugit of Odessa, Bobby Stephens of Hale Center and Mike Crowley of Matador officiating. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Montgomery was born in Fisher County. A resident of Motley County since 1910, he was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Mollie Lisenby in 1926 at Matador. She died in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Bette Fugit of Odessa; and a granddaughter. James S. Stroope Jr. PANHANDLE - James S. Stroope Jr., 65, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in St. Theresa Catholic Church by Monsignor M.J. Matthiesen. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Theresa Catholic Church by the Rev. Terry Burke of Amarillo. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Groom by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mr. Stroope was born in Amarillo. In 1952 he moved from Groom to Panhandle. He worked as an inspector at Pantex. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Local No. 1255, and was a union steward. He also was in the cattle business. He married Carol Britten in 1952 at Groom. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Gayle Stroope, in 1961. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laurie Tennison of Pampa and Selisa Ann McLein of Panhandle; a brother, Wayne Stroope of White Deer; and two grandchildren. Dean Bryan HAPPY - Dean Bryan, 48, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon with the Rev. Travis La Duke officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mr. Bryan was born at Canyon. He graduated from Happy High School in 1968 and attended West Texas State University for three and a half years. He was a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Happy and the Happy Jaycees. He was active in the Happy Days Celebration. He married Donna Fowler in 1969 at Happy. Survivors include two sons, Rex Wade Bryan of College Station and Chuck Daniel Bryan of Louisville; three sisters, Naoma McKee of Hereford, Mildred Woods of Plainview and Billy Jene Bible of Wayside; one grandson; and a special friend, Annette Holly of Tulia. Amarillo Ruby Hamilton Ruby Hamilton, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Tucker of Friendship Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Wise County. She retired as a seamstress with Sears Roebuck and Co. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Conrad Sinclair of Manteca, Calif., and Gary Lee and Charles Sinclair, both of Amarillo; a brother, Jack Barger of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1916 S. Marrs. Faye Games Snoeberger Faye Games Snoeberger, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998. Private family services are pending. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Shoeberger was born on her grandfather's ranch in Sherman County. She attended schools in Kansas, Indiana, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. A homemaker, she and her husband, a dance musician, lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. In 1930 ,the couple moved to his parents' farm near Sedan, N.M. In 1947, they moved to Clayton, N.M., and in 1966 to Silver City, N.M. In 1994 Mrs. Snoeberger moved to Amarillo. Mrs. Snoeberger participated in several organizations, including the Federated Woman's Club, Federated Garden Club, March of Dimes, Cancer Society, Extension Club and Republican Women. She was a Methodist. She married Paul William Snoeberger in 1925 at Albuquerque, N.M. He died in 1983. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn F. Goats of Silver City and Paula Rhoton and Carol Jefferson, both of Amarillo; a son, William L. "Bill" Snoeberger of Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Laura Devanney Laura Devanney, 82, of Amarillo died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Devanney was born in Canadian. In 1958, she moved from Shamrock to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Llano Estacado Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She married Dr. Louis R. Devanney in 1939 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sara Miller of Abilene and Laura Matthews of Richmond, Va.; two sons, Tom Devanney of Seattle, Wash., and Louis Devanney of Georgetown; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Llano Estacado Chapter of the DAR or to a favorite charity. New Mexico Willis Kelly NARA VISA, N.M. - Willis "Bill" Kelly, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in Dumas, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. CST Wednesday in the Nara Visa School with Dr. Jimmy Reese of Canyon, Texas, and the Rev. Jerry Sneary of St. James Episcopal Church in Dalhart, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Nara Visa Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Kelly was born in Nara Visa, where he graduated from high school. During World War II he served with the Army in Europe. After his discharge, he worked in New York and Colorado, and then in Clayton. In 1957 he was employed by Rita Blanca Electric Co-op. When he retired in 1974, he moved back to the family ranch in Nara Visa. He married Louise Guthrie in 1945 in Kidderminster, England. Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Kelly of Dalhart, Carl Kelly of Cedar City, Utah, and John Kelly of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Carol Ford of Hartley, Texas; two brothers, Fred Kelly of Erie, Colo., and Tom Kelly of Nucla, Colo.; three sisters, Jessie Alford of Nara Visa and June McMeen and Judy Welling, both of Dalhart; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
