Stanley DALHART - Dollie E. Stanley, 85, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Sam B. Harvey Funeral Chapel at Mount Vernon. Burial will follow under the direction of Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home of Mount Vernon. Local arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Stanley was born in Kaufman and was raised in Hagensport. She married Jim Horton Stanley in 1928 at Mount Vernon. They lived in Gray Rock and New Boston. She moved to Dalhart in 1970 and worked for the Dalhart Independent School District, retiring in 1984. She attended Dalhart Church of Christ and was a member of New Boston Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965 and by a daughter, Elizabeth, in 1935. Survivors include three sons, J.T. Stanley of Gainsville, Ernest Edward Stanley of Humble and Huie Von Stanley of Dalhart; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. H.L. Riley CLARENDON - H.L. Riley, 79, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Martin Road Baptist Church in Clarendon with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Riley was born and raised in Clarendon. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as Donley County Commissioner for several years. He was a farmer and member of Martin Road Baptist Church. Mr. Riley was a member of Clarendon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7782. He was also active in area square dance organizations. He married Mary Katherine Lane in 1946 at Amarillo. She died in 1985. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Louise Riley of Clarendon; special friends, Paul Grubbs of Arlington and Mary Hooten of Clarendon; and several nieces and nephews. Boyd Colbert PERRYTON - Boyd Colbert, 70, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Jamieson and Bill Newman, both of Guymon, officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Colbert was born in Canon City, Colo. He moved to this area 22 years ago from Clovis, N.M. He was an Army veteran and manager of Perryton Feeders. He married Rita Villers in 1951 at New Mexico. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dan Colbert of Sayre, Okla.; two daughters, Shelley Kyle of Onalaska and Christine Ozley of Dallas; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. Paul George SHAMROCK - Paul George, 84, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Eleventh Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, and Marion Fry of Ada, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. George was born in Paris, Texas. He was self-employed in the oil and gas industry as well as in ranching. He married Dorothy Jo Clark in 1954 at Wellington. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karla Janella Pope, in 1975. He owned a trucking company and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Potter of San Antonio; a son, Justin Potter of San Antonio; his mother, Susan Potter of Dallas; his parents, Troy and Linda Potterof Dumas; a brother, Jerry Potter of Rolla, Kan.; his grandparents, Keith and Ruby Norris of Hutchinson, Kan.; and his great-grandmother, Ethel Norris of Hutchinson. Mrs. Flyr was born in Purdon. She had been a resident of Sherman County for 40 years. She retired as a school librarian. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Lew Flyr in 1930. He died in 1942. Amarillo Jeffery Scott Ziegler Jeffery Scott Ziegler, 27, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1990 where he was a member of the Key Club. He received an associate degree from Amarillo College where he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He graduated with honors with a degree in graphic arts from Phoenix Institute of Technology at Tempe. He had been employed by Affiliated Foods Inc. and was selected by Sir Speedy as the 1997 Employee of the Year. Bozidar Matic Bozidar "Michael" Matic, 68, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. He briefly served in the U.S. military. Mr. Matic moved to Amarillo in 1986 from Oklahoma. He was employed as a tool and die mechanic. Jeffery Dwayne Westerholt Jeffery Dwayne Westerholt, 19, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev. Rob Lackey, pastoral care director of Park Central, officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home. Mr. Westerholt was born in Amarillo. He attended San Jacinto Elementary School and Sam Houston Middle School. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler in 1997. Mr. Westerholt attended Amarillo College. He attended Buchanan Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Westerholt,in 1993. Survivors include his father, Donald Westerholt of St. Louis; a brother, Harley Westerholt of Dallas; two stepbrothers, Corey Murray and Cody Murray, both of Amarillo; his grandparents, Bill and Betty Brasfield and Edwin Belter and Mary Murray, all of Amarillo, and Ilene Westerholt of St. Louis, Mo. Don Hopper Don Hopper, 66, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 1, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Allen Norris officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. Hopper was a Army veteran of the Korean War. New Mexico Gayla Durrett PORTALES, N.M. - Gayla Durrett, 58, a former New Mexico resident, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998, at Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Portales Cemetery with Gary Durrett officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Durrett was born in Portales and was raised in eastern New Mexico. She attended high school in Lovington. She married Jerry Durrett in 1957 at Portales. They lived in many countries through the years, from Indonesia to Denmark and England as well as Denver, Los Angeles and Billings, Mont., as she followed her husband's work in the petroleum industry. She was an oil painter and a member of the United States Golf Association. Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Durrett of Gilbert, Ariz.; a daughter, Dena Williamson of Manitowoc, Wis.; her mother, Mrs. Tinnie Rodgers of Carlsbad; a brother, Robert Rodgers of Las Cruces; four sisters, Zeida Orendorf of Mount Ida, Ark., Bette Stidham and Debbie Ritchie, both of Amarillo and Nona Anderson of Belen; and eight grandchildren. Otis Moore CLOVIS, N.M. - Otis Moore, 76, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in 16th and Pile Street Church of Christ with Stacy McCasland and Bret McCasland officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Moore was born in Grady. He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. He farmed and ranched north of Clovis for several years and later worked for the New Mexico Bureau of Taxation and Revenue as an auditor, retiring in 1986 after 23 years. He was a member of 16th and Pile Street Church of Christ. He married Imogene Wright in 1941. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nora Kopf of Lubbock, Texas; a son, Mike Moore of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Oklahoma Byron Ward Morris TUTTLE, Okla. - Byron Ward Morris, 83, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Resthaven Memory Gardens at Oklahoma City. Arrangements are by Bill Merritt South Funeral Service of Oklahoma City. Mr. Morris was born in Howe, Texas. He was inducted into the Army Air Corps in 1941. He received training in the United States and served with the 20th Bomb Command. He was honorably discharged in 1944 at the rank of master sergeant. He married Virginia Carter in 1943 at Great Bend, Kan. They moved from Kansas in 1945 to Oklahoma City, where he took a job at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired from there in 1972. In 1954, they moved to a farm in Tuttle. His wife preceded him in death. Mr. Morris was an attorney and a municipal judge. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Williams of Oklahoma City and Virginia Fitzgerald of Amarillo; four sons, Richard K. Morris of Jenks, Byron Eugene Morris of Midwest City and Donald Lee Morris and Tommy Ray Morris, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers; four sisters; 19 grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Canyon Zelma Ruth Allmon Noel Zelma Ruth Allmon Noel, 68, of Canyon, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, and Bob Shepherd, minister at Church of Christ Bible Chair at West Texas A&M University, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Noel was born in Fowler, Meade County, Kan. She worked at West Texas State University as a secretary. She was a member of University Church of Christ, the University Study Club and the Secretaries Association. She married Gene Noel in 1964 at Hereford. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lynn Noel of Amarillo and Micheal L. Noel of Wilburton, Okla.; a daughter, Debrah Kay Cunningham of Castroville; two sisters, Mary Lou Aven of Hereford and Phyllis Deaton of Houston; a brother, Charles Allmon of Austin; and seven grandchildren. Elsewhere Kenneth Edward Neagle LUBBOCK - Kenneth Edward Neagle, 71, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry L. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery by Sanders Funeral Home. Mr. Neagle was born in Boxelder and moved to Crosbyton at an early age. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Naval Reserves and had received several outstanding reservist recognitions. He married Joyce McKinney in 1949 in Amarillo. They moved to Lubbock in 1950 where he worked for Mechanical Equipment before establishing Airco Inc. in 1959, which was an air conditioning business. He served as president of the company. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served on the finance and property committees. A son, Darrell Bruce Neagle, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth E. Neagle Jr. of Cranberry TWP, Pa.; two daughters, Darla Kay Sekimoto of San Antonio and Janis Lynn Sprout of Weatherford; two sisters, Mable Heinsen of Paradise and Nadine Roach of Plainview; a brother, Roy S. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Frances Gonzales WILLITS, Calif. - Frances Gonzales, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998. Memorial services were Monday in Willits. Cremation was by Amker-Lucier Mortuary in Willits. Inurnment will be in Amarillo later this summer. Mrs. Gonzales had lived in Texas most of her life. She moved to Albuquerque, N.M., 30 years ago then to Willits in 1996. Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Gonzales-Lambarski of Willits; a brother, B.H. Chavez of Amarillo; four sisters, Beatrice Preciado, Adela Vargas, Lola Rodriquez and Anna Lopez; and three grandchildren. Mary Edna Burdine Bridwell GRAND PRAIRIE - Mary Edna Burdine Bridwell, 93, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Llano Mausoleum Chapel in Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Arlington Funeral Home of Arlington. Mrs. Bridwell was born in Sentinel, Okla. She was a retired school teacher. She had received a 50-year service award in Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bridwell, a son, Alfred Eloy Burdine, and her daughter, Reatta Wardlaw. Survivors include two sons, Billy Ray Burdine of Dallas and Emery W. Burdine of Grand Prairie; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Virginia Lee Coffman LIBERAL, Kan. - Viginia Lee Coffman, 82, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kitch Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Petty officiating. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery. Mrs. Coffman was born in Webster County, W. Va. She moved to Liberal 65 years ago from Diana, W.Va. She retired after 11 years as a bookkeeper for Carlile Asphalt Co. She was a member of the Church of Christ and American Association for Retired Persons. She married Kermit Leon Coffman in 1934. He died in 1990. Survivors include three sons, Howard Lee Coffman of Elko, Nev., Eldon David Coffman of Hooker, Okla., and Steve Dale Coffman of Liberal; two daughters, Norma Frederick of Fritch, Texas, and Jimmy Lee Barlow of Liberal; three brothers, Jean Williams of Perkins, Okla., and Rondal S. Williams and Robert B. Williams, both of Liberal; a sister, Lu Hickey of Hoisington, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
