Gadberry FOLLETT - Robert L. Gadberry, 82, died Monday, April 6, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church with Woodrow Weidner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Gadberry was born in Ellis County, Okla., and had been a lifetime Follett area resident. He had been a farmer and rancher in the Follett area for about 50 years. He married Irene Starbuck in 1939 at Arnett, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Catherine Bourquin and Carolyn Gadberry, both of Follett, and Arlene Boxwell of Perryton; two sisters, Dora Sperry of Adrian and Helen Keller of Follett; eight grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Ochiltree County Hospice, 3101 Garrett Drive, Perryton, Texas 79070; or a favorite charity. Jasper Thompson HEREFORD - Jasper "Les" Thompson, 88, died Sunday, April 5, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parkside Chapel with the Rev. David Morris and the Rev. Harlan Resch officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Chickasaw, Okla. He married Hester Shirley in 1931 at Portales, N.M., and moved to Hereford in 1935. Mr. Thompson had been retired from Suits Auto in Hereford for several years. Survivors include a son, Les Thompson Jr. of Denison; a daughter, Shirley Neighbors of Whitesboro; a brother, Art Thompson of Fritch; a sister, Ala Mae Hyatt of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Louise Harris CHILDRESS - Louise Harris, 85, died Monday, April 6, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Jim McCurley, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Harris was born in Mabank and had been a lifetime resident of Childress. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Harris; and by a son, Gene Harris. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou McKee and Carolyn Jennings, both of Childress; a son, Kenneth Harris of Childress; and 11 grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Thelma Goodin HEREFORD - Thelma Goodin, 87, of Baton Rouge, La., a former Hereford resident, died Saturday, April 4, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Gililland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel with the Rev. Terry Cosby, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Goodin was born in Sentinel, Okla. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1973 from Roosevelt, Okla. She lived in Hereford from 1978 until 1991, when she moved to Louisiana. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Renn Goodin in 1927 at Roosevelt. He died in 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Vera Newton of Hereford and Patsy Berry of Denham Springs, Ark.; a sister, Bernice Gilbert of Siloam Springs, Ark.; a brother, James Carpenter of Roosevelt; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Martiriano Perez PLAINVIEW - Martiriano "Tilano" Perez, 72, died Sunday, April 5, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Elbert A. Fadallan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Perez was born in Austin. He was a farmer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Cursillistos. He married Francisca "Kika" Lopez in 1943 at Robstown. She died in 1997. He also was preceded in death by a son, Juan Perez, in 1994. Survivors include six daughters, Bertha Hinojosa of Lubbock, Anasticia Rodriguez of Plainview, Carmen Garza and Maria Rodriguez, both of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Rosa Washington of Midland and Juana Tarago of Owatonna, Minn.; four sons, Martiriano Perez Jr. of Tulia, Tony Perez of Northfield, Minn., and Mario Perez and Joe Perez, both of Plainview; 40 grandchildren; and 45 greatgrandchildren. Dale H. Page HIGGINS - Dale H. Page, 77, died Monday, April 6, 1998. Services were private. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, in Amarillo. Mr. Page was born in Higgins and had been a lifelong Higgins resident. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Peggy Proctor in 1965 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Barney Page of Muleshoe; two daughters, Tonja Gillispie of Dallas and Mickie Page of Woodward, Okla.; and five grandchildren. Naomi Hare HEREFORD - Naomi Hare, 81, died Monday, April 6, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Fuller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Miss Hare was born in Wichita Falls. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1972 from Monterrey, Mexico. She taught school in Hereford for several years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served as a Methodist missionary in Monterrey, Lima, Peru, and Chihuahua, Mexico. Survivors include a brother, Arthur Hare of Amarillo. Amarillo Hugo Joeris Hugo Joeris, 87, of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, in Cheyenne, Wyo. Smyer of the church and the Rev. Paul Gallatin of St. Charles Boremeo Catholic Church in Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Joeris was born in Abilene. He moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Wichita Falls. He was the owner and operator of Amarillo Novelty Co. before retiring. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Amarillo Senior Citizens Center Square Dancing Club. He married Margaret Gallatin in 1934 at Vinita, Okla. She died in 1985. Survivors include three daughters, Patti Zawadzki and Susan Boykin, both of Littleton, Colo., and Judy Jaterka of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Louis Joeris of Houston; two sisters, Jerry Seibt of Sanger and Margueritte Dubbs of Pecos; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Davidson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Texhoma, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Gyarko was born in Morgantown, W.Va. He was a veteran of the Air Force. For the past 24 years he had been employed by highway contractors. Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth "Libby" Blosser of Morgantown and Irene Ottenkirk of Rising Sun, Md.; and seven brothers, Alex J. Gyorko, Elmer C. Gyorko and Steve Gyorko, all of Morgantown, Brinley A. Gyorko of Waynesboro, Va., Coleman J. Gyorko of Pittsburgh, Thomas Gyorko of Philadelphia and Eugene A. Gyorko of Laughlin, Nev.
