Hale PAMPA - Jewell H. Hale died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in Panhandle. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jacob Clemmens, rector, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hale was born in Sudan, Kan. She moved to Pampa in 1943 from Denver City. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild and Pampa Chapter No. 65 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She married D.L. Hale Sr. in 1927. He died in 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Joye Cree of Pampa; a son, D.L. Hale Jr. of Pampa; six grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren. Mark Wesley Parks PAMPA - Mark Wesley Parks, 36, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, in Weatherford, Okla. Mr. Parks was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was raised in Michigan and moved to Pampa in 1984. He worked in various oil fields from 1984 to 1991 and for Elliott Glass Co. in Pampa from 1991 to 1996. He was a member of Pampa Moose Lodge. In 1996, he moved to Oklahoma City, where he was a glass cutter. Survivors include three daughters, Amanda Parks, Kelly Parks and Brandy Parks, all of Amarillo; his parents, Raymond and Barbara Parks of Pampa; four sisters, Debora Parks of Pampa, Valerie Cole of Oklahoma City, Kathleen Kreger of Houston and Michelle Cole of Coldwater, Mich.; two brothers, Bart Parks and Scott Parks, both of Oklahoma City; grandmother, Vivian Sain of Alma, Mich.; and special friend, Laurie Helton of Oklahoma City. He was the owner and operator of Otis White Dirt Contractors. Odlee Crawford BOOKER - Odlee Crawford, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Mrs. Crawford was born near Fort Cobb, Okla., and attended school at Washita. She married Leon Crawford in 1944 at Anadarko, Okla. They lived in several places before moving to Fort Cobb, where they were engaged in farming until moving to Guymon in 1953. In 1964, they moved to Booker. Mrs. Crawford was employed as a cook and a waitress at the Dairy Bar for several years. She was a member of United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry Crawford of Booker; a daughter, Carol Nowlin of Booker; four sisters, Rosie May O'Neal of Oklahoma City, Martha Robnett of Fort Cobb, Shelby Santa Cruz of Grover City, Calif., and Alberta Foreman of Sulphur, Okla.; four stepgrandchildren; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Don Freeman KRESS - Don Freeman, 59, of Antlers, Okla., a former resident of Kress and Plainview, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Freeman was born in Plainview. He grew up in Olton and graduated from Kress High School. He pastored at Olton Church of Christ and in Finley, N.M. He was a tack salesman and distributor in Antlers. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Thelma Jane Wiggins Thelma Jane Wiggins, 87, of Canyon, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, in Dumas. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla. She married Henry C. Wiggins in 1932 at Weatherford. He died in 1991. She was a longtime Canyon resident and a member of First Baptist Church. Peggy Hudson Martha Jean "Peggy" Hudson, 77, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle and attended Reed College in Portland, Ore. She had lived in Amarillo since 1942, moving from Seattle. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and the Home Builders Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Federated Home Arts Club and a past member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary. She married Richard M. Stewart in 1942. He died in 1969. She married Lester Hudson in 1973 at Santa Fe, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Leslie Robinson of Amarillo; a son, J. Michael Stewart of Houston; two stepdaughters, Jan Samuels of Plano and Jaynie Schreiber of Windthorst; a brother, Brewster C. Denny of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Hughes St. Mrs. Block was born in Galindo and attended school in that community. She was an Amarillo resident for several years and was instrumental in the growth of several churches in this area. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton and West Texas State University in Canyon. She taught at Buffalo Springs and at a farm community near Dimmitt. She was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She married Charlie Henry Beebe in 1932 at Tucumcari, N.M. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Frances Beebe in 1969. Survivors include three sons, George Charles Beebe of Houston, Samuel Parker Beebe of Amarillo and Philip Lyman Beebe of Redlands, Calif.; a brother, Robert Manning of Granbury; a sister, Ann Martin of Granbury; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Coy Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Donham was born in Curry County and had lived all her life in the Field community of Curry County. She married Thomas Donham in 1929. He died in 1997. She was a member of Field Baptist Church until it disbanded. She then attended First Baptist Church of Melrose. Survivors include three sons, Tommy and Dwane, both of Albuquerque, and Jack of Montclair, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors Inc. Mrs. Atchley was born in Amistad. She graduated from Grenville High School in 1936 and married John D. Atchley in March 1936. They had lived in Portales for the last 35 years. They farmed and ranched for 28 years. Mrs. Atchley began working as a secretary for the John Atchley Insurance Agency in Portales, where she worked until the time of her death. She was an active member of Altrusa for many years and a member of First United Methodist Church at Portales, the Methodist Women's Circle and the American Business Women's Association. She was a charter member of the Portales Good Sam Traveling Club. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karel Janice Smith of Amarillo; a son, Dr. Darrel E. Mr. Sauer was born in Potter, N.D. He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired in 1985 at the rank of master sergeant. He married Kyoko Tanaka in 1970 at Tokyo.
