Mr. Jones was born in Childress. He was a farmer and had worked as an oil rigger for many years. Survivors include his mother, Lanora Jones of Childress; a daughter, Melissa Jones of Electra; three sisters, Julia Wheeler of Childress, Nellie Jones of Duncan, Okla., and Rayetta Elkins of Austin; two brothers, Alvin Jones and Justin Jones, both of Duncan; and friends, Rhonda Seguine of Electra and Loretta Pruett of Duncan. Luis Cabrera Jr. PLAINVIEW - Luis Cabrera Jr., 67, died Monday, July 6, 1998. Prayer services will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lemons Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Amado Hinojosa of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Cabrera was born in Nordheim and grew up in Alamo. He moved to Illinois in 1954 and to Plainview in 1978. He worked for Excel until retiring in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Altagracia; a daughter, Sylvia Rivas of Lubbock; three sons, Luis Cabrera, Rodolfo Cabrera and Sonny Cabrera, all of Plainview; a brother, Jose Cabrera of Plainview; seven sisters, Minerva Cabrera, Francisca Escobaro and Diane Martinez, all of Sterling, Ill., Eudelia Baez of Oregon, Ill., Jesusa Solis of San Antonio, Guadalupe Cabrera of Alamo and Antonia Munoz of Plainview; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Oklahoma Woodrow Wilson Miller MAYFIELD, Okla. - Woodrow Wilson Miller, 85, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Elk City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Erick Church of the Nazarene with Danny Cook, Mark Williams and Vernon Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home of Erick. Mr. Miller was born in Mayfield and raised in the Mayfield community, where he attended school. He married Leona Shelby in 1934 at Clovis, N.M. They made their home in Mayfield. He farmed and ranched near Mayfield until retiring in 1973. He and his wife, Leona, carried the Star Route mail for many years. After his wife's death in 1993, he continued to carry the mail until his death. He also was preceded in death by a son, Carrol Dean and an infant daughter. He married Edith Alexander in 1996 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife, Edith; three daughters, Betty James and Rose Rocha, both of Oklahoma City and Mary Wells, of Dallas, Texas; five sons, Glen Miller of Amarillo, Texas, Joe Miller of Earth, Texas, Earnest W. "Red" Miller of Clinton and Danny Miller and Gene Miller, both of Erick; a sister, Rachel Richardson of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Paul Miller of Corona, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mack Kemp GUYMON, Okla. - Mack Kemp, 60, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Oklahoma City. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Kemp was born in Oklahoma City. He attended Oklahoma University and Central State University, where he played football. He began a career in the irrigation business in 1965. He worked for the Valmont Company in Valley, Neb., for several years before moving to Guymon in 1978, purchasing Gigot Irrigation and later changing the name to Gigot Agra Products. Mr. Kemp was instrumental in the development of the center pivot irrigation system in this area. Gigot Agra Products has since opened stores in Hugoton, Kan., and Spearman, Texas. He was actively involved in the Kids Inc. program. He also served as president for the Guymon Booster Club for two years. He was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. He married Jequeta Overfelt in 1963 at Midwest City. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lance Kemp of Spearman and Tyler Kemp of Corpus Christi, Texas; and two brothers, Mike Kemp of Corpus Christi and Kenneth Kemp of Bixby. A Mack Kemp memorial has been established for Kids Inc. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to a Mack Kemp memorial which has been established for Kids Inc. Elsewhere James Donald Henderson McALLEN - James Donald Henderson, 75, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at McAllen. Memorial graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements were by Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Mr. Henderson was born in Ardmore, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for 35 years. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. While living in Amarillo, he retired from Texas State Technical Institute. He married Sue Carter Tarver in 1970. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Billy R. Tarver of Arlington; a brother, Kennith Henderson of Amarillo; a sister, Velma Lightfoot of Sulphur Springs; and a grandson. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Carrie Hutchison Outhier DALLAS - Carrie Hutchison Outhier, 90, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Richardson. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa with Lloyd Hutchison, a Church of Christ minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Outhier was born in Texas County, Okla. She lived in Pampa from 1937 until 1975, when she moved to Guymon, Okla. She moved to Dallas four years ago from Guymon. She was a member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ of Pampa. She married F. Melburn Outhier in 1931. He died in 1970. Survivors include a son, Frank Edmond Outhier of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Ann Erwin of Dallas; four brothers, David Hutchison of Clayton, N.M., LeRoy Hutchison and Lloyd Hutchison, both of Guymon and Russell Hutchison of New Mexico; a sister, Irene Quesenbury of Meade, Kan.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Martin Edward Brown EL DORADO, Ark. - Martin Edward Brown, 41, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at Borger. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Czech National Cemetery of Hazen, Ark. Local arrangements were by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Brown was a native of Stuttgart, Ark. and had lived in El Dorado a number of years. He was an industrial electrical journeyman for H.B. Zackery. Survivors include two sons, Martin Brandon Brown and Christopher Edward Brown, both of Pine Bluff; a sister, Malia Meeks of Cabot; and stepmother, Dorothy Skarda of Austin, Texas. Amarillo Inez Beeman Harrison Inez Beeman Harrison, 95, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 6, 1998. Memorial services were at 4 p.m. today in the Chapel at Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Garrett, senior pastor, and the Rev. Bill Wade, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Garrett and the Rev. Wade officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Harrison was born in Hood and moved to Amarillo in 1917. She graduated from North Texas State University and earned her master's degree from West Texas State University. She taught at public schools in Amarillo and Borger. She was a volunteer for the Wesleyan Barrio, where she taught sewing. She was a Greek and Roman history scholar and had traveled to Europe nine times. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Co-Workers Sunday School class and the first youth group at the church. She also was a member of the Athenean Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charles Harrison, in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Janie Sue Harrison of Mannheim, Germany; a brother, William Edwin Beeman of Arlington; and two sisters, Louise Halsey of Borger and Doris Conner of Amarillo. Otis Johnson Jr. Otis Johnson Jr., 75, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hill Sr., pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes. Mr. Johnson was born in McKinney and was a high school graduate. He lived in Amarillo for more than 45 years. Mr. Johnson retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 36 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Jo Johnson; two sons, Billy Johnson and Michael Ray Johnson, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Donna Sue Kennedy of Denver; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1905 N.W. 19th Ave. Alice M. McAlister Alice M. McAlister, 96, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mrs. McAlister moved back to Amarillo in 1988 from Monterey Park, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of Presbyterian Church in California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramey B. McAlister in 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Dunn of Amarillo and Sharon Lopez of Whittier, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Eugene R. McLarty Eugene R. McLarty, 54, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 28, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. There are no known survivors. Clifford B. Parker Clifford B. Parker, 76, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at Denver. No services are planned for Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Parker was born in Sweetwater, Okla. He served in the Army before working for Lee Way Motor Freight in Amarillo in the early 1950s. He moved to Denver where he worked for Lee Way until retiring. He was a member of the local teamsters, Scottish Rite Consistory and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors include his wife, Zelma; a grandson, Randy Cole of Carthage, Mo.; a daughter in Texas; two sisters in Oklahoma; and a brother in Nevada. New Mexico Arthur King PORTALES, N.M. - Arthur King, 71, died Monday, July 6, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and Dr. Philip Fike officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Mr. King was born in Tahoka, Texas, and moved to Dora in 1939. He attended school in Dora. In 1945 he entered the Navy and served until 1946. After the service, he worked as an electrician, working several years for Disney Electric. In 1955 he established King Electric. He retired from electrical contracting in 1973 and began farming full time. He continued to farm until last year. Mr. King was a mayor of Dora. He served on the board of directors of United New Mexico Bank in Portales for 15 years. He was a member of Dora Baptist Church and served as a deacon there from 1954 until 1972. When he moved his membership to the First Baptist Church of Portales, he served that congregation as a deacon from 1972 until his death. He was active with the Conestoga Good Sams in Portales for a number of years. He married Delma Elmore in 1944 at Portales. Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg King of Portales; two daughters, Karen Faires and Gail Crozier, both of Portales; a brother, John C. King of Artesia; five grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home. The body will be available for viewing until service time. Hazel E. Little PORTALES, N.M. - Hazel E. Little, 84, died Monday, July 6, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Kenneth Broad officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery. Mrs. Little was born in Portales, where she lived all her life. She began teaching school at the age of 16. She went on to earn a teaching certificate from West Texas University at Canyon and later a master's degree from Eastern New Mexico University. She taught in Floyd and was a third-grade teacher at Steiner Elementary School at Portales for many years until retiring in 1978. She married Charlie E. Little in 1938 at Portales. They opened the College Bakery in 1939 and operated it until it was destroyed by fire in 1958. In 1963, they opened Sharla's Dress Shop at the same location, closing in 1974. Mr. Little died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Sharla Holder of Clovis; and two granddaughters. The family requests memorials be to the American Lung Association or to either of the local children's homes. The body will be available for viewing until service time. Hester Lucille Dorris CLOVIS, N.M. - Hester Lucille Dorris, 82, died Saturday, July 4, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Dorris was born in Roosevelt County. She was a member of the BPO Elks of Clovis. Her husband, Emmett Dorris, preceded her in death. Survivors include a brother, Millard "Jack" Engram of Sudan, Texas; four stepsons, Curtis Dorris of Crested Butte, Colo., Cone Dorris of Yuma, Ariz., Jack Dorris of Wanette, Okla., and Jay Dorris of Phoenix; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
