Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Burkburnett Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Young was born in Oilton, Okla., and moved to Burkburnett in 1928 and to Pampa in 1996. She had worked as a nurse at Kermit and also at Truth or Consequences, N.M. Survivors include a brother, Leon Greene of Pampa. Clella Nichols Parrish PAMPA - Clella Nichols Parrish, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Brookshire. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery with Tom Russell, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Parrish was born in Sayre, Okla., and had lived in Pampa most of her life. She married Ray Parrish in 1932 at Sayre. He died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Jim Parrish of Plano; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Leo Castillo Sr. HEREFORD - Leo Castillo Sr., 83, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in San Jose Catholic Church with Monsignor Orville Blum and Deacon Jesie Guerrero officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Castillo was born in Devine. He married Jesusita Fuentes in 1939 at Devine where they lived until 1957 when they moved to Earth. They moved to Hereford in 1970. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. Survivors include seven sons, Leo Castillo Jr., and Raymond Castillo, both of Houston, Joe Castillo of Dallas, Wally Castillo of Hereford and Bobby Castillo and Rudy Castillo, both of Amarillo; five daughters, Vickie Camacho of Devine, Noelia Ulibarri of Hereford, Janie Arredondo of Hallsville, Mary Howard of Midland and Diane DeLaFuente of Amarillo; a brother, Ramon Castillo of San Antonio; four sisters, Mary Garcia, Concho Covarrubia and Eloisa, all of San Antonio and Luisa Gonzales of Devine. Mary Stewart DUMAS - Mary Stewart, 79, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Norrell, deacon of Church of King Catholic Church in Sunray, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Stewart was born in Clayton, N.M., and had been a Dumas resident since 1952. She was a homemaker and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She married I.H. "Jumbo" Stewart in 1952 at Amarillo. He died in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Hayhurst of Amarillo; a son, Jay Stewart of Dumas; and a grandson. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Union Church with the Rev. Bill Sparks, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. VanBuskirk was born in Grant, Mo. He moved to Spearman 34 years ago from Pratt, Kan. He retired in 1997 after 37 years as a contract pumper. He was also a commercial cattle hauler for 38 years until his death. He married Sarah Heath in 1987 at Spearman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Allen VanBuskirk and Greg VanBuskirk, both of Lamar, Colo.; two daughters, Angela Johnson of Blanchard, Okla., and Tracy VanBuskirk of Texhoma, Okla.; two stepsons, Larry Blackwell of Oklahoma City and Steve Blackwell of Liberal, Kan.; a brother, Gary VanBuskirk of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Loretta Ingram of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and nine grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Miss Bennett was born and raised in Amarillo. She was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. Survivors include her father, Terry Scott Bennett of Amarillo; and her grandparents, Hood and Alma Bennett of Amarillo. John W. Isaacs John W. Isaacs, 55, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998. Osage St. Mr. Isaacs was born in Grand Junction, Colo. He moved to Amarillo 23 years ago from Borger. He worked in the oil field industry and was a janitor for Catholic Family Service, Potter County Courthouse and Kmart. He married Rebecca "Becky" Kline in 1975 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Harold Isaacs of Stinnett and Arvella Isaacs of Stanford; eight sisters, Rosa Lee Ferrel of Missouri, Betty Jean Berry of Tennessee, Lucille Gillmore of Morris, Sharon Hughes of Stinnett, Barbara Devall of Massachusetts, Carol Woodward and Nancy White, both of Borger, and Debbie White of Fort Worth. He had been a farmer and rancher and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. He had lived in Amarillo for three years. He married Wilma Newbrough in 1942. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Loyd Olen Johnston of Decatur, Ala., and Dennis Ray Johnston and Gary Dale Johnston, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Carolyn Elaine Trimmell of Friona and Evanna Sharlene Betcher of Amarillo; two brothers, Kenneth Johnston of Kingston, Okla., and A.M. Johnston Jr., of Huron, S.D.; four sisters, Rubie Shannon of Onalaska, LaRue West of Littlefield, Elva Mae Hollingsworth of Kerman, Calif., and Arlene Sanders of Sacramento, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Everett L. Gouge Everett L. Gouge, 85, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Gouge was born in Lubbock County. He moved to Amarillo in 1952 from Muleshoe. In 1976, he retired as truck driver from Chemical Express. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. He married Vera Read in 1936 at Lubbock. She preceded him in death in 1995. Survivors include two sons, James Gouge and Stan Gouge, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Betty Helton of Amarillo; a brother, Clifford Gouge of Melrose, N.M.; a sister, Dorothy Northrup of Melrose; nine grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. New Mexico David H. Neely CLOVIS, N.M. - David H. Neely, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Madrid was born in Trementina, N.M., and had been a longtime resident of the Tucumcari area. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cecilia Martinez of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Mary Ann Quintana of Tucumcari; a son, Cristobal Madrid Jr.; his mother, Refugio O. Madrid of Tucumcari; and four grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing until service time at the funeral home. Alfonso Juan Maestas CLAYTON, N.M. - Alfonso Juan Maestas, 62, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday and funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. George Silva, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Maestas was born in Mora. He lived in Clayton from 1945 until he moved to Hugoton, Kan., in 1955. He returned to Clayton in 1982. He was a carpenter and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Maestas of Guymon, Okla., Christine Palmer of Denver and Juanita Hamilton of Amarillo; two sons, Anthony Maestas and Phillip Maestas, both of Hugoton; his mother, Felipita "Pita" Maestas of Clayton; the mother of his children, Cora Weston of Hugoton; seven sisters, Sadie Castillo of Muleshoe, Texas, Nellie Bodine and Glory Lucero, both of Clayton, Amy Maestas and Betty Cerros, both of Hugoton, Evelyn Gutierrez of Ulysses, Kan., and Vickie Herrera of Texline, Texas; three brothers, Felix Maestas and Gene Archuleta, both of Clayton, and Johnny Maestas of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Elsewhere Mary Lee Repass Vandiver IRVING - Mary Lee Repass Vandiver, 86, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Walker officiating. Mrs. Vandiver was born in Ivan. She attended schools in Graham and graduated from Texas Tech and West Texas State University. She taught school in Wellington and retired from the Amarillo Public Schools in 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Al. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Conner of Irving and Carolyn Altman of Cedar Park; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Irving. Oklahoma Billy Mills GATE, Okla. - Billy Mills, 28, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, in Price, Utah. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Booker Christian Church in Booker with Jim O'Banion and Benny Acker officiating. Burial will be in the Gate Cemetery in Gate by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Mills was born in Denver City, Texas. After attending school, he worked as a farm hand then moved to Forgan where he was a roughneck in the oil industry. He later started his own brake repair business. He was involved in the Awanas Club. He married Tracy Lynn Williamson in 1990 at Dumas, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dancie Jolyn Mills and Clarenczian Dawnrea Mills, both of the home; his mother and stepfather, Charlie and Joe Thomas of Logan; three brothers, Bobby Mills and Kyle Mills, both of Gate, and Sheldon Mills of Forgan; two sisters, Cissy Mills Taylor of Perryton, Texas, and Dettsie Curl of Forgan; his stepgrandparents, Earl and Eva Cramer of Woodward; and his great-grandmother, Virginia Culver of Booker.
