Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel in Pampa with the Rev. Gene Allen, former pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa. Mrs. Overall was born in Comanche County, Okla. She had been a Pampa resident since 1931 and moved to Arlington in 1993. She retired as sales associate for Levine's Department Store and was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church. She married Pat Overall in 1929 at Sayre, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and by a son, Bob Overall, in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Taylor of Arlington; two brothers, J.V. Tedford and D.A. Tedford, both of Rogers, Ark.; two sisters, Dorothy Cop of Rogers and Helen Panchula of California; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Carter PAMPA - Elizabeth Carter, 68, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Carter was born in Ryan, Okla., and had been a resident of Pampa since 1951. She was a 1948 graduate of Ryan High School and attended McMurry College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the W.W. Harrah Sunday School Class and a former member of the Chancel Choir. She also was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega, the Pampa Fine Arts Association and the Community Concert Association. She had been a guest writer for Focus magazine. She married Weldon Carter in 1950 at Abilene. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cynthia Bedford of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Linda Hamby of Lubbock; a son, James Carter of Amarillo; a brother, James Perry of Choctaw, Okla.; a sister, Eloise Dixon of Friona; and six grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church; the American Diabetes Association; the Alzheimer's Association; or Meals on Wheels. Embree Roy Sadler DIMMITT - Embree Roy Sadler, 87, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sunnyside Baptist Church at Sunnyside with the Rev. Bennie Wright, pastor, and the Rev. David Fletcher of Jayton First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Sadler was born in Douglas, Ariz., and moved to Castro County in 1924 from Taylor County. He attended Sunnyside Schools and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1932. He was a retired farmer. He married Willie Mae in 1933 at Plainview. She died Nov. 26. Survivors include two sons, Embree Gale Sadler of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Myles F. Sadler of Lubbock; a brother, Lawrence Ezell Sadler of Sunnyside; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Bobby Dwight Boyd HEREFORD - Bobby Dwight Boyd, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Fuller, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Idalou Cemetery in Idalou by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Boyd was born in Saint Jo and was an Army veteran of World War II. He earned his bachelor of business administration from Texas Tech in 1958 and received his master's degree from West Texas State University in 1974. In 1959, Mr. Boyd moved to Idalou and then moved to Deaf Smith County in 1970 from Amarillo. He was a retired teacher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hereford and Hereford Whiteface Booster Club who named him Fan of The Year for 1997-98. Mr. Boyd was a member of the Golden Spread Emmaus Community, Hereford Retired Educators, Gideons International, Kairos Prison Ministry, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and a lifetime member of Texas State Teachers Association. He was a charter member of Hereford Chamber Singers, past president of Friends of the Library and former member of the United Way board. He married Bera Faye Spann in 1959 at Munday. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Brent Boyd of Houston; a daughter, Bethany Jane Boyd Houpt of San Antonio; two brothers, Herbert Boyd of Lorenzo and Wayne Boyd of Keller; two sisters, Norma Sue Hoyle of Wolfforth and Mary Margaret Boyd of Lubbock; and five grandchildren. Geneva White BORGER - Geneva White, 68, of Moore County, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, and Doug Hollowell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. A Borger-area resident for 53 years, Mrs. White was a native of Hugo, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of Riverview Baptist Church. She married Paul White in 1951 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lori B. Guy of Guayama, Puerto Rico and Kay Fisher of Borger; her mother, Lula Mae Rothmeyer of Borger; a brother, Jim Rothmeyer of Arvada, Colo.; a sister, Phyllis Hollowell of Eure, N.C.; and five grandchildren. Bob Gage MULESHOE - Bob Gage, 63, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Muleshoe with the Rev. Oscar Newell of Lubbock officiating. Cremation will follow chapel service. Mr. Gage was born in Circle Back. He lived in Muleshoe for several years before moving to Lubbock. He returned to Muleshoe in 1997. Mr. Gage was in the home construction and remodeling business. He was a member of Circle Back Baptist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include three sons, Eddie Gage of Tulia, Bill Gage of San Antonio and Dondie Gage of Lubbock; two sisters, Mary Hanna of Sudan and Gereta Meissner of Muleshoe; a brother, Raymond Gage Jr., of Hobbs, N.M.; and five grandchildren. Darlene Spencer PAMPA - Darlene Spencer, 58, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Lyndon Glaesman, Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley. Mrs. Spencer was born in Ardmore, Okla., and graduated from Pampa High School in 1959. She was employed by Marriott Hotels in Dallas from 1989 until 1998 when she returned to Pampa. She was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church of Pampa. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Spencer and Charles Spencer, both of Pampa; a sister, Nancy Dowlearn of Austin; a brother, Richard Adams of Florida; and five grandsons. Truman Olen Bradstreet SHAMROCK - Truman Olen Bradstreet, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Charlie Floyd of Texola, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Bradstreet was born in Wheeler County where he was a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II. For 16 years, he was employed by Wheeler County. Mr. Bradstreet was a farmer and rancher for most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion. He married Lena Rushing in 1978. His first marriage was to Mary Issabell Daniels in 1941. She died in 1965. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clifford Bradstreet of Wheeler and Riley Bradstreet of Mobeetie; three daughters, Mary Ann Farrington, Francis Bradstreet and Crystal Heath, all of Oklahoma City; a stepdaughter, Pat Chandler of Amarillo; three sisters, Linda Hall of Shamrock, Lola Cole of Florida and Billie Reintz of Panama City, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Wheeler. Juanita Castillo Verver TULIA - Juanita Castillo Verver, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Church of the Holy Spirit with Monsignor Harold Waldo of Amarillo, the Rev. John Salazar-Jimenez of the church, Monsignor Bud Urpen of Tulia and the Rev. Rex Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Verver was born in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and raised in Pharr. She lived in Robstown after her marriage and moved to Tulia in the early 1950s. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit where she was active in the church choir, the Guadalupanas and was the eucharist minister. She married Francisco Verver in 1938 at Robstown. He died in 1963. Survivors include five daughters, Paula Robertson of Aubrey, Janie Basaldua of Houston, Mary Verver of Tulia, Sarah Gross of Plano and Jo Peters of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Genaro Verver of Denton; three sisters, Vincenta Velazquez of Ohio, Amalia Castillo of Pharr and Josefa Luera of Tulia; a brother, Hilario Castillo of Pharr; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Franklin Roosevelt Bryan BOOKER - Franklin Roosevelt Bryan, 65, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in United Methodist Church of Booker with the Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Bryan was born in Gray, Okla., and attended school in Balko. A Marine Corps veteran, he served aboard the USS Rochester during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and the China Service Medal. After his discharge, Mr. Bryan moved to the northeastern Panhandle area where he was a truck driver for the Permian Corp. He was also a farmer. He married Barbara Peery in 1969 at Perryton. She died in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Wilson of Booker and Tressa Bryan of Houston; five sisters, LaVada Adams and Dessie Lee Donaldson, both of Tucson, Etta Mae Jones of Riverside, Calif., Louise Eastham of California and Nola Williams of Bull Head City, Ariz.; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Jim Rule FRIONA - Jim Rule, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Friona Cemetery with Andy Wood of Trinity Church of Lubbock officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Rule was born in Strong City, Okla. A World War II veteran, he participated in six major invasions in the Pacific. He received four battle stars in the Asiatic Pacific area, two battle stars for the Philippine liberation and the China Service ribbon. Mr. Rule was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He moved to Amarillo three months ago from Friona. Survivors include three sons, Johne Rule of Amarillo, Ruede Rule of Lubbock and Monte Rule of Friona; a daughter, Melva Rule of Poway, Calif.; two brothers, Budde Rule of Brownsville and Buford G. Rule of Cortez, Colo.; a sister, Myrtle Deaton of Lubbock; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Witten was born in Dalhart and raised in Plainview where he graduated from high school in 1980. In 1984, he graduated from Wayland Baptist University. He had been employed by Kmart in Amarillo, Pampa and Borger. In 1990, Mr. Witten began working for Toys 'R' Us and was recently named a manager. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Texarkana. He married Teri Patching in 1984. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Alan Witten and Jared Landon Witten, both of Texarkana; his parents, Glenn Witten of Plainview and Patsy Lambert of Kansas; two sisters, Kathy Garrison of Amarillo and Trisha Gurley of Plainview; and his grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. J.E. Brannon of Stratford. Amarillo Vivian Shirk Vivian Shirk, 85, of Amarillo, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. J. Mrs. Shirk was born in Montana and moved to Amarillo when she was 10 years old. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. From 1976 until 1992, she lived in Clayton, N.M., where she was active in the Senior Citizens Association. Survivors include three daughters, Delores Thompson of Fremont, Neb., and Bobbie VernaLee Casey and Tiny Clark, both of Amarillo; a son, Richard Shirk of Angel Fire, N.M.; a brother, Perry Dunlap of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Durham was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and had lived in Amarillo since 1922. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Newton Durham, in 1969. Survivors include a son, William "Butch" Wood Durham of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Lou Durham of Amarillo; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at 202 Sunset. Jessie Sandoval Sr. Jessie Sandoval Sr., 43, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Sandoval Jr., and Frank Sandoval, both in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Miguel Sandoval of Amarillo and Ernest Sandoval of Canyon; three sisters, Georgia Salazar and Dolores Diaz, both of Amarillo, and Eva Moreno of Houston; four brothers, Lasaro Sandoval, Felix Sandoval, Johnnie Sandoval and Eddie Sandoval, all of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 3400 Harris Dr. Venerable Thich An Hanh Venerable Thich An Hanh, 57, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, in Carson County. Services will be at noon today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Cremation will follow the service. A Buddhist monk, he was born in Vietnam and moved to Amarillo nine years ago. He is survived by a son, Ho Gia Thein Tru of Michigan. The body will not be available for viewing. George Mann George "G.B." Mann, 77, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Bob Murphy of the church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Mann was born in Amarillo. During World War II, he was a sergeant in the Army. He was a champion golden gloves boxer. Mr. Mann was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he was a life member of Post No. 1475, a member of the 45 and Uppers Dance Club and the Maverick Club. He was a member and past president of the Golden Kiwanis and Amarillo Bowling Association. A member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, Mr. Mann was a member of the Keenagers and an elder and member of the Lamplighters Sunday School Class. He delivered for Meals on Wheels. He married Rita Hollars in 1990 at Amarillo. His first marriage was to Hazel Mae Crites in 1948 at Amarillo. She died in 1986. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gary Mann and Terry Mann, both of Amarillo, Larry Mann of Denver and Milton Webster of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Terry Dye of Amarillo and Yolanda Werling of Bakersfield; a stepson, Jimmy Grissett of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Sidney J. Boyce of Amarillo and Clydene Blackwell of Gatesville; a sister, Lucille Whitehead of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shane was born in Donley County and moved to Wichita Falls in 1996 from Amarillo. She was a retired receptionist at a law firm in Amarillo. She had been a member of Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burr Shane, in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Ritter of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Thomas of San Bernardino, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Affiliates in Amarillo. Sidney Huffman SUNDOWN - Sidney Huffman, 76, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of Sundown with the Rev. Bill Oliver, pastor, and the Rev. Glen Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sundown Cemetery by George C. Price Funeral Directors of Levelland. Mr. Huffman was born in Jean. He moved to Maple in 1946 from Young County and moved to Sundown in 1953. He was an Army veteran of World War II where he served with the coast artillery of the Fourth Army. Mr. Huffman was a retired pumper for Texico. He served two terms on the Sundown City Council and was a member of the Sundown Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Sundown Senior Golfers and First Baptist Church. He married Adean Nicholson in 1942 at Newcastle. Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Huffman of Lufkin; three daughters, Glinda Rusk of Amarillo, Linda Stafford of Temple and Nancy Gunn of Levelland; a brother, Ray Huffman of Alvin; a sister, Shirley Hartsell of Watauga; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
