Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Lakeview United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Edwards, pastor, and the Rev. Gene Amerson, pastor of Hartley Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Gustin was born in Carlena and raised in the Ware community. She married William F. "Bill" Gustin in 1926 at Dalhart. They farmed in the Rehn community for many years. She was a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church, now the Lakeview United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, W.F. "Bill" Gustin Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Hartley and Aleta Stuard of Fort Worth; a sister, Verna Abernathy of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 570 Dodge in Hartley. Ruby D. Saltzman PAMPA - Ruby D. Saltzman, 86, died Monday, June 8, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Ewing, pastor of First Baptist Church of Chico, officiating. Eastern Star graveside rites will be by Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Saltzman was born in Dewey, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1926 from Bartlesville, Okla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Pampa Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 65. She had been a regional sales representative for National Motor Club for many years, retiring in the mid-1980s. She married James "Hates" Saltzman in 1937 at Pampa. He died in 1975. Survivors include two sons, Emmett Saltzman of Edmond, Okla., and Milton Saltzman of Midland; two sisters, Rachel Ripple of Pampa and Orvie McPherson of Lefors; five grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Jack D. Brooks WHITE DEER - Jack D. Brooks, 66, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Terry County Memorial Cemetery at Brownfield with the Rev. Norman Grigsby officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mr. Brooks was born and raised in McLean. He played football at Texas A&M University and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1954. He lived in Wolfforth for several years, where he served as mayor. He was a longtime businessman in Brownfield and also was active in the agriculture industry. Mr. Brooks had been engaged in ranching in White Deer since 1990. He was a past president of the Brownfield Booster Club and was a member of the Brownfield Masonic Lodge 903, Scottish Rite Consistory and the Khiva Temple of the Shrine. He also was a member and an elder of First Presbyterian Church at Brownfield. He married Lawanda Shadid in 1951 at Dallas. She died in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Shad Brooks and Shannon Brooks, both of Amarillo; his mother, Ruth Brooks of Levelland; two sisters, Beth Perkins and Katherine Harder, all of Levelland; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Affiliates. Earnest Randle CHILDRESS - Earnest "Doc" Randle, 82, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Randle was born in Marshall and married Retha Evans in 1956 at Childress. He worked as a stock person in Gibson's Department Store. Mr. Randle was a mason and a member of St. John Baptist Church and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He attended Marrietta Price School. He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wallace Earl Miller of Phoenix, Earnest Randle Jr. of Lawton, Okla., and Jerry Frank Randle of Childress; two daughters, Sandra Kay Philmore of Amarillo and Jackie Randle of Childress; a brother, Roland Hervey of Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters, Mildred McKnight and Frankie Waters, both of Houston, Inez Blake of California and Ethel Randle of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Lillian Parrish Harrison CHILDRESS - Lillian Parrish Harrison, 81, died Saturday, June 6, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Presbyterian Church of Childress with the Rev. Mrs. Harrison was born in Steubenville, Ohio, and was a retired social worker for the Welfare Department in Childress. She had lived in Alaska for several years. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Childress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harrison, in 1997. Survivors include a son, Greg Harrison of Colleyville and a sister, Evelyn Hayes of Big Lake. Earles Harris CHILDRESS - Earles Harris, 79, died Sunday, June 7, 1998. Mr. Harris was born in Telephone and married Exie Bell Harris in 1976 at Phoenix. He was a veteran and a member of Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gilbert Harris; and a brother, Ople Harris of Childress. Aldrey Morris FRITCH - Aldrey "Bo" Morris, 73, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Morris was born in Bomarton and has lived in the area since 1947. He married Juanita Vassaur in 1949 at Panhandle. Mr. Morris was a lead-off man in maintenance for Phillips Petroleum Co. and served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Local Union No. 351. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janet Stieg of Austin, Linda Morris of McDonald, Ohio, and Rhonda Jett of Fredricksburg, Md.; three brothers, John Morris of Irving, Raymond Morris of Grand Prairie and Nick Morris of Temple; and five grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home. Vernon Estes BOVINA - Vernon Estes, 78, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Davis V. Edens and the Rev. Neeley Landrum, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery at a later date by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home in Friona. Mr. Estes was born in Rockwood and married Ellen Marie Charles in 1939 at Lubbock. He had been a resident of Bovina for the past 58 years, moving from Rockwood. Mr. Estes was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bovina, Farwell Masonic Lodge and Khiva Shrine. He was charter member of the Bovina Lions Club. He was named Bovina Man of the Year in 1971. Mr. Estes served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nita Beth Dobbs of Clovis, N.M., Verna Marie Strawn of Spearman and Linda Marshall of Bovina; a sister, Mattie Martin of Arlington; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to United Methodist Church of Bovina or a favorite charity. Ann Neale SHERMAN - Anne Neale, 86, formerly of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Horn Cemetery in McKinney. Mrs. Neale was born in Coweta, Okla., and married U.R. Neale in 1933 at Alliance, Neb. She was resident of Tucumcari in the 1950s and then lived in Amarillo for 38 years before relocating to Sherman two years ago. Mrs. Neale retired from Western Sand and Gravel as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993. Survivors include her son, Michael C. Neale of Van Alstyne; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Jesse Richard Potter TULIA - Jesse Richard "Dink" Potter, 81, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Potter was born and raised in Tulia, where he attended school. He married Ina Lillian Reagan in 1937 at Clovis, N.M. Mr. Potter worked for Santa Fe Railway in Tulia for 30 years and was in the Navy from 1944-1946 during and after World War II. He returned to Tulia and moved to Plainview in 1962. In 1973, he returned to Swisher County. Mr. Potter was a member of Claytonville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1969. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Kerbo of Amarillo; a son, Wayne Potter of Vega; two sisters, Tommie Rucker and Bonnie Gardner, both of Tulia; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to hospice in Dumas. Amarillo Marvin D. Sheeley Marvin D. Sheeley, 63, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998. Mr. Sheeley was born and raised in Alamosa, Colo. He served in the Navy until 1958 and graduated from Adams State College in 1962. He coached football, basketball and track in high schools in Idaho and Colorado for 23 years. He moved to Amarillo in 1985, where he was employed by Builders Square. He married Mary Nell Munday in 1957. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Glenelle Sheeley-Robison of St. Louis, Danette Jackson of Amarillo and Melissa Bennett of San Diego; two brothers, John Sheeley of Loveland, Colo., and Walter Sheeley of Lamar, Colo.; a sister, Glenna Hardinger of Grand Junction, Colo.; and nine grandchildren. Emma Davis Emma Davis, 86, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 7, 1998. Mrs. Fleer was born in Chicago and married Arthur Fleer in 1941 at St. Louis. She was a longtime resident of St. Louis before moving to Amarillo 15 years ago. Mrs. Fleer was a retired buyer and director for the Sally Anne Shops in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a sister, Doris Wolfe of Amarillo, and a brother, Robert Rehling of Chesterfield, Mo. Burial will follow in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Kingston was born in Logan, N.M., and had been a longtime resident of Tucumcari. He was a member of the Tucumcari Elks Lodge No. 1172, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled Veterans and Immanuel Baptist Church of Tucumcari. He served in the Navy during World War II and was retired from the Federal Aviation Agency, where he was a flight station specialist. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Graves in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Kenny Kingston of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Janice Rigdon of Tucumcari and Paula Prieto of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Wright Miller CURLEW, Wash. - Alice Jennie V. Wright Miller, 80, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, June 8, 1998. Mrs. Miller was born in Amarillo and married Joseph F. Miller in 1938 at Amarillo. They lived in the Texas Panhandle and Arkansas before moving to Curlew in the late 1980s. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. Survivors include three sons, Spencer F. Miller of Vinita, Okla., Charles L. Miller of Curlew and Joe W. Miller of Washington; two daughters, Alice Dianne Slaughter of Gonzales and Z. Kay Cook of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Thelma E. Wallace LUBBOCK - Thelma E. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery by FranklinBartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Wallace was born in Arbala, Hopkins County, and married Everett Wallace in 1930 at Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Wallace graduated from Lubbock High School in 1930 and received a bachelor's degree in education in 1954 from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She taught school in Floyd County, Irick and Pleasant Hill Community and the Ropes Independent School District. She retired from Ropes ISD in 1966. She was a member of Ropesville First United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger Wallace of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Canyon Jimmy Green CANYON - Jimmy Green, 64, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998. The body was cremated by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon. Mr. Green was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He served a term in the Marine Corps and enlisted in the Army. He was a member of the Canyon Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include four sisters, Billie Corbell, Joy Jerden and Vivian Mager, all of Amarillo, and Peggy Shirley of Niles, Mich.; and two brothers, Bennie L. Green of San Antonio and Jack V. Green of Hillsboro, Ore.
