Gale O'Brien E. Gale O'Brien, 78, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Monsignor Francis A. Smyer officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. O'Brien was a 50-year resident of Amarillo. He was involved in the home building industry as a home designer. He was a member and Eucharistic minister of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 year, Mary Edwin O'Brien, in 1996. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Gray, Martha O'Brien and Theresa Seideman; three sons, David O'Brien, Mike O'Brien and Dan O'Brien; a brother, Leo X. O'Brien; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 5100 Harvard. They requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Trinh Mai Tieu Trinh Mai Tieu, 83, of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40 with Thanh Van Vu officiating. Mrs. Tieu was a native of Vietnam. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Kent K. Trinh of Plainview; three daughters, Ty Thi Trinh, Thu Thi Trinh and Xuan Thi Trinh, all of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren. R.A. Sanders R.A. "Sonny" Sanders, 76, died Saturday Jan. 10, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Southeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert E. Field, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 Tuesday in Rowe Cemetery at Hedley by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Sanders was born in Talco. He had been employed by Texaco for 37 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 731 and Southeast Baptist Church. He married Bonnie Lee Thomas in 1940 at Hedley. Elsewhere Mark August SoRelle LUBBOCK - Mark August SoRelle, 54, a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sanders Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mr. SoRelle was born in Tulia. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1961 and from the University of Texas in 1965. He moved to Lubbock in 1978. Mr. SoRelle owned Pizza Express from 1978 until 1995. He was an accountant for the Texas Tech University Health Science Center since 1995. He served as a board member for Mental Health Mental Retardation center. He married Joy Coleman in 1969 at Austin. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ed Beaird of Mesquite and Larry Beaird of Lubbock; a daughter, Tracy Bacon of Lubbock; three brothers, Bill SoRelle of Amarillo, Paul SoRelle of Houston and John SoRelle of Lubbock; a sister, Phyllis Hicks of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Lubbock Food Bank. Jack Welch CROWELL - Jack Welch, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with Judge Leslie Thomas, the Rev. Jim Currie, pastor, and Daryl Halencak officiating. Burial will be in Crowell Cemetery by Womack-Manard Funeral Home. Mr. Welch was born in Anna and moved to Crowell in 1917. He graduated from Crowell High School in 1929 and Texas Tech University in 1938. He was a retired farmer and an agent for Foard County Farm Bureau. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School class, the Lions Club, and Masonic Lodge. He served on the Soil Conservation Service Board for many years. He married Elizabeth Milburn in 1937 at Weatherford. She died in 1986. He also was preceded in death by a son, Jack Jr. in 1945. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ann Ingham of Groom and Peggy Charlton of Crowell; a son, Don Welch of Crowell; six grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Bernardo S. He worked as a security guard for the American Cotton Growers denim mill and for VTS. He then was employed by Wells Fargo Security Co. at the Aztec Flour Mill in Plainview. Francisco Villafranco LITTLEFIELD - Francisco Villafranco, 96, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998. New Mexico Marian Louise Larson TUCUMCARI,N.M. - Marian Louise Larson, 79, died Saturday Jan. 10, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Mikow, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Larson was born in Battle Creek, Mich. She moved to Tucumcari with her husband, the Rev. Wayne Larson, in 1968. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three sons, Dr. Stephen Larson of Breckenridge, Colo., David Larson of Port Angeles, Wash., and Philip Larson of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Frances L. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Everett Statler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Reynolds was born and raised in Sherman County area. He attended school in Conlen and graduated from Stratford High School in 1941. He joined the Army Air Corps and served in the European theater during World War II. He farmed in the Conlen area until moving to Dalhart in 1964 when he opened Reynolds Welding. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart Senior Citizens Association, and square danced with clubs in Dalhart, Dumas and Amarillo. He was a past board member of XIT Rodeo and Reunion and past city councilman. Mr. Reynolds married Mary Elizabeth Moore in 1946 at Dalhart. Survivors include his wife; two daughter, Janis Graef of Austin and Gail Albrecht of Dalhart; two sisters, Jenelle Brock of Amarillo and Jean Everett of Stratford; three granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Doris Jean Williams Jones PAMPA - Doris Jean Williams Jones, 70, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Vurn C. Martin, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jones was born in Electra and moved to Pampa in 1932. She graduated from Carver High School in 1944 and from Mary Allen College in 1948 with her teaching certificate. She taught school in Wichita Falls for three years then taught special education at Lamar Elementary. Later, she was a bus monitor for special education. She retired in 1997 after 24 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as church clerk and the Order of Eastern Star No. 57. In 1976, she married Earnest Jones at Pampa. He died in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Wright of Pampa; a brother, Leslie Williams of Pampa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1101 Campanella St. in Pampa. Ollie Melvina Cantrell PAMPA - Ollie Melvina Cantrell, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Tulsa, Okla., with the Rev. Vern Wilkinson officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Cantrell was born in Henryetta, Okla. She moved to Pampa in 1957 from Tulsa where she had been a long time resident. She married Theodore "Ted" Cantrell in 1931 at Eufaula, Okla. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tom Cantrell of Pampa; and two sisters, Lillie Ellen Woodward of Amarillo and Laverne Elaine Radcliff of Nowata, Okla. Ina Marie Woodruff PAMPA - Ina Marie Woodruff, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with the Rev. M.B. Smith, Baptist minister, and the Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Mrs. Woodruff was born in Whitewright. She moved to Pampa from Wheeler in 1945. She retired in 1979 after 25 years from Bob Clement's Dry Cleaners. She continued to do alterations in her home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Tommie Marvin Woodruff in 1940 at Savoy. He died in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Rusk of Hobbs, N.M.; a son, Tommy Woodruff of Orange; a sister, Ruth Golleher of Pampa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Susie Cross of Pampa. Thomas E. Moore FLOYDADA - Thomas E. "Tom" Moore, 69, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Northfield Cemetery in Northfield by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home in Floydada. Mr. Moore was born in Quanah. He graduated from Matador High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. He moved to Floydada in 1966 from Matador. Mr. Moore retired in 1986 after 37 years as County Executive Director of United States Department of Agriculture/Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service. He was a member of the Floydada First Baptist Church. He married Billie Ann Bumpus in 1947 at Northfield. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tommy Luis Moore of Dumas, Terry Michael Moore of Plainview, Steve Moore of Anton and Bill Moore of Lawton, Okla.; two daughters, Brenda Watson and Cindy Fuller, both of Floydada; a sister, Virginia Nimmo of Matador; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Gregg Simmons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Gray was a native of Dallas and lived most of his life in Borger. He received his bachelor's degree from Corpus Christi University and master's degree from Texas A&M University. He retired in 1995 after teaching in the Borger Independent School District for 12 years. He also had taught in Corpus Christi, Three Way and Gruver. Mr. Gray was county constable, precinct 2, for Hutchinson County. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a volunteer at Golden Plains Community Hospital. He married Glenna Mercer in 1980 at Phillips. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy of New Braunfels and Brad of Unalaklett, Alaska; five daughters, Robin Taylor and Tami Prichard, both of Lubbock, Debbie Magenot and Susan Monden, both of Borger, and Paulette Rush of Atlanta; and 18 grandchildren. Earline Whitaker QUITAQUE - Earline Whitaker, 85, formerly of Quitaque, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jess Little, pastor of First Baptist Church of Silverton, and Stuart Smith, minister of the Church of Christ in Turkey, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mrs. Whitaker was born in Comanche County. She was a homemaker and had been a houseparent at Buckner's Children's Home. She married George Earl Whitaker in 1932 at Matador. He died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Myra Brown of Amarillo; two sons, Charles Whitaker of Oklahoma City and Jan Whitaker of Lubbock; a brother, Thane Amonett of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Euna Beryl Brown PLAINVIEW - Euna Beryl Brown, 85, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Lindsey, Okla. She graduated from Rounds Creek school. She lived in Lindsey and Rush Springs, Okla., before moving to Eloy, Ariz., in 1939. She moved to the Prairieview community of Hale County in 1940. Mrs. Brown was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. She married Charlie Monroe Brown in 1932 at Garvin. He died in 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Johnson of Plainview and Joy Couch of Kilgore; three sons, Kenneth Brown, Bill Brown and Travis Brown, all of Plainview; a brother, Leonard Schoonover of Aubrey, Calif.; a sister, Buna Beam of Slaton; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
