Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bob Nichols, pastor of Calvary Cathedral of Fort Worth, and Keith Johnson of Christian Centre in Canada officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson was born in Decatur and raised in Fort Worth, where she attended schools. She married Kenneth Johnson in 1954 at Gainesville. They moved to Spearman in 1969 and pastored churches there. They also pastored in Laverne, Okla., and Lawton, Okla. In 1978, Mrs. Johnson moved to Plainview, where she led prayer groups and hosted "Words of Wisdom" on KKYN radio. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Terri Atkinson, Deborah L. Farley and Freddie Jean Bothwell, all of Plainview; a son, Leslie Scott Johnson of Fort Worth; a brother, Andrew Jackson Scroggins of Plano; stepfather, Harold C. Baxter of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Rosalie Ruth Northcutt HEREFORD - Rosalie Ruth Northcutt, 86, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Ted Taylor of Church of the Nazarene and the Rev. Terry Cosby of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Northcutt was born in Belleview, N.M. She was an LVN for 25 years in California for the Coronary Care Unit. She was a Noble Grand for two terms for the Hereford Rebekah Lodge. She also was an active member of the Hereford Senior Citizens Center. She attended the Nazarene church and First Baptist Church. She married Cecil T. Colwell in 1940. He died in 1976. She married Bernie Northcutt in 1980. He died in 1982. Survivors include four sisters, Maxine Brown of Friona, Billie Brown of Hereford, Wilma Shadix of Belleview and Geneva Colman of Richland, Wash. The family requests memorials be to the Hereford Senior Citizens Center or the Rebekah Lodge. Nina Adrian EARTH - Nina Adrian, 76, died Saturday, May 9, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Broyles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Adrian was born in Quanah. She had been a resident of Earth since 1951, moving from Pecos. She had been an Avon salesperson since 1968. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school for many years. She served on the Earth Memorial Cemetery board and was a member of the Springlake-Earth Booster Club. She married Buddy Adrian in 1939 at Altus, Okla. He died in January. Survivors include a son, Lonnie Adrian of Muleshoe; a daughter, Susie Harendt of Lubbock; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Earth EMS or the Earth Senior Citizens. Tiny G. Walling BOVINA - Tiny G. Walling, 64, a former Bovina resident, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, in Brashear. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dorman Duggan and the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Walling was born in Dimmitt. He was a 1952 graduate of Bovina High School. He was a former resident of Hereford and had lived in Hopkins County since 1989. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He attended New Life Family Fellowship in Caddo Mills. Mr. Walling married Jeanette Holbrooks in 1973 at Canyon. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Walling. Survivors include his wife; a son, Haden Walling of Bovina; a stepson, Shane Owsley of Brashear; two daughters, Rebecca Murphy of Paris, Texas, and Donna Flores of Sacramento, Calif.; his father, Elmer Englant of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, Ted Walling of Hereford; a halfbrother, Leon Englant of Oakland, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. Benjamin B. Ashford BORGER - Benjamin "Buddy" B. Ashford, 80, died Monday, May 11, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Gethsemany Cemetery in Caddo, Okla. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Ashford was born in Kenefic, Okla., and had been Borger resident since 1950. He retired as a mechanic in 1981 from Phillips Petroleum Co. He served with the Army during World War II. He was a member of Monroe Street Church of Christ and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Ashford married Helen White in 1950. She died in 1968. He married Clemmie Jones in 1981. Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Ashford of Harrogate, England; a daughter, Jeanette Keitz of Durant, Okla.; three brothers, Steve Ashford and Glenn Ashford, both of Borger, and Clifton Ashford of Cash; a sister, Marie Behrens of Mannsville, Okla.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Wanda Lou Mitchell BORGER - Wanda Lou Mitchell, 65, died Monday, May 11, 1998. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Durant, Okla., and had been a resident of Borger for 47 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Mitchell, in 1979; and by a daughter, Becky Nowell, in 1985. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Mitchell, Dicky Mitchell and Steve Mitchell, all of Borger; two daughters, Charlene Price and Rhonda Christian, both of Borger; three sisters, Billy Mitchell of Borger, and Joy Trimble and Linda Hodge, both of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She moved to Amarillo 20 years ago. She married Curtis Garrett in 1957 at Tulia. She was a homemaker. Terry Trupe Terry Trupe, 46, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Cremation was by Memorial Park Crematory. Mr. Trupe was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1970. He moved to Amarillo in 1980. He was a truck driver. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of First Baptist Church. He married Jo Ann Day in 1957. He was preceded in death by a son, Preston Lee Duckworth, in 1995. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kim Duckworth of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a daughter, Stacy Kimbrough of Amarillo; a brother, Billy Duckworth of Amarillo; two sisters, Euva Blanks of Happy and Doris Williams of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. Buxton LIBERAL, Kan. - Paul M. Buxton, 88, died Monday, May 11, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Miller Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Buxton was born in Dombey, Okla. He attended school at Bunch Grass School 92 in Dombey and a year at Goodwell, Okla. He married Pearl Palmer in Liberal. He was a longtime farmer in the Dombey community. He retired in 1974 and moved to Adams, Okla., in 1978. He moved to Liberal in 1992. Mr. Buxton was a member of South Church of God. He was preceded in death by two sons. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Alberta Faye Blaser of Tyrone, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Charles Snyder FAIR GROVE, Mo. - Charles "Steve" Snyder, 49, died Saturday, May 9, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Greenlawn Funeral Home North Chapel in Springfield. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Elkland. Mr. Snyder was a news director at KOLR, CBS Channel 10 in Springfield. He was a member of the RTNDA and the News Caucus. Mr. Snyder married his wife, Deborah, in 1991. Survivors include his wife; a son, Colbe Snyder of Canyon, Texas; a daughter, Kristina McWhorter of Elk City, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Jessica Furman of Fair Grove; his parents, Dayle and Jackie Snyder of Amarillo; and two sisters, Andrea Meyer of Amarillo and Michelle Snyder of Canyon. Charles Clifton Vaughn OLTON - Charles Clifton "Slats" Vaughn, 70, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Mr. Vaughn was born in Fairy. He graduated from Olton High School in 1945. He served with the Army and attended Texas Tech University. He worked for the state of Colorado and then retired from U-Haul International in 1986. He moved back to Olton from Malvern, Ark., in 1992. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudine Allen, in 1988. He married Bettye Lee in 1975 at Grapevine. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Charla Viehe of Enid, Okla., and Milta Walsh of Aurora, Colo.; two stepsons, Robert Scott of Grandview and Todd Scott of Duncanville; two stepdaughters, Kaye Vassallo of Pottsboro and Lani Stewart of Grand Prairie; and 14 grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Bowman, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Foote was born in Edmond, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of the Tucumcari area. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Roy Foote; three daughters, Sharon Slater of Clovis, Donna Brasher of Amarillo and Mary Foote of Newkirk; two sons, Carl Foote and Donald Foote, both of Tucumcari; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from 9 a.m. today until service time Wednesday.
