Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Strouse was born in Muskegon, Mich., and moved to Amarillo in 1974. She worked for 18 years in the food-service department of Amarillo Independent School District and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She married Eugene Strouse in 1966 in Michigan. Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard Strouse, of the home; a daughter, Karen Linley of Amarillo; three brothers, Jim McCune, Melvin Whitten and Roy Whitten, all of Michigan; four sisters, Marian Sugarbaker of Detroit and Nancy Kelley, Ola Stone and Mary Gilmore, all of Michigan; and two granddaughters. Mrs. Landolt was born in Derby, Conn., and moved to Amarillo from Clovis, N.M. She had been employed at the Amarillo Globe-News and at Dillards and was currently working at T.J. Maxx. Survivors include a brother, Russell McLaughlin of Brooklyn, N.Y., and two sisters, Cynthia McLaughlin of Boston and Mary McLaughlin of Hornell, N.Y. HOBBS Rena W. Hobbs Rena W. Hobbs, 79, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julius Early, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hobbs was born in Wildorado and was a longtime Amarillo resident. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as a saleswoman and was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Hobbs, in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Jan Seger of Amarillo and Judy Riner of Santa Fe, N.M.; a stepson, Bruce Hobbs of Carrollton; a stepdaughter, Sherri Melton of Amarillo; three brothers, Don Allred of Vega, Ralph Allred Jr. of Amarillo and Jim Allred of Ruidoso, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ball was born in Lamar County. She attended Howard Payne University for two years and Southwestern Theological Seminary for two years. She taught Sunday School for several years, was a Bible teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and a 10-year member of James Bible Club. She married L.D. Ball in 1926 at Roxton. He died in 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Louise O'Brien of Amarillo, Kathleen Williams of Celeste and Jeanie Miley of Houston.; two brothers, A.R. Smith of Houston and Herman Smith of Odessa; a sister, Nora Beaver of Denton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. ROBINSON Wilburn Ray Robinson Wilburn Ray Robinson, 73, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Wheeler, senior minister of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Robinson was born in Franklin County and moved to Amarillo in 1937. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a paint contractor and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include a son, Dick Robinson of Amarillo; a daughter, Ruby Mounce of Amarillo; a brother, L.C. Robinson of Brownfield; a sister, Alvern Enyart of Durango, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. WILKINSON Louise Wilkinson Louise Wilkinson, 90, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 10, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Jordan Grooms, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Wilkinson was born in Willow Springs, Mo., and moved to Amarillo in 1929. She attended Southwest Baptist College, taught school and majored in art at Amarillo College. She worked as a secretary for the Artists' Studio and received several honors for her art. She was a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, she also was active in programs at Amarillo's Senior Citizen Center. In "Marvin's Sunshine Band," she played several different instruments. She married Garford Wilkinson, who died in 1973. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Gerkin, in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Bud Wilkinson of Lake Tanglewood and Bill Wilkinson of Plano; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She retired as an owner and operator of several beauty salons and retail clothing stores. She was a Baptist. She married William E. Dennis in 1974 at Palmdale, Calif. He died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Patrick Daly of Amarillo; two sisters, Delores Gillispie of Amarillo and Clara Evans of Palmdale; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Carol Sue Holder DALLAS - Carol Sue "Hen" Holder, 60, a former Borger resident, died Friday, July 10, 1998. Services were at 9:30 a.m. today in Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel with the Rev. Waco officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park. Mrs. Holder was born in Borger. She graduated from high school in Borger and attended Frank Philips Junior College. She was a 22-year-employee of Arco Oil and Gas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Holder, and also by twin daughters, Rhonda Renee Holder and Sondra Sue Holder. Survivors include a son, Alan Holder. Suzann Gulley PARKER, Colo. - Suzann Gulley, 56, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Parker United Methodist Church with the Rev. Aaron Gray, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Castle Rock, Colo., by Parker Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Gulley was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Stinnett High School in 1960 and from Frank Phillips Junior College of Borger in 1962. In Parker, she worked as a bank teller at Norwest Bank. She married Edwin Gulley in 1963 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Michelle Gulley. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Gregory Gulley and Bradley Gulley, both of Parker and Jeffrey Gulley of Denver; her mother, Nell Riggins of Amarillo; two sisters, Barbara Crawford of Amarillo and Janet Baughman of Dover, N.J.; and a brother, Levi Robison of Weatherford, Okla. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. New Mexico J.D. Waller LINGO, N.M. - J.D. Waller, 82, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Roswell. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel of Portales, Inc., with Chris Swinford officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Mr. Waller was born in Lingo and had lived his entire life in the Lingo and Dora areas. He was a breeder of Angus cattle for many years. He was a member of the New Mexico Angus Association. He married Oma L. Ellerd in 1942 at Portales. She died in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Wiley Waller of Tatum and Waylon Waller of Roswell; a sister, Iva Leland Brooks of Portales; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Area Winnie E. Brown PADUCAH - Winnie E. Brown, 92, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Paducah with Dr. Tilden Armstrong officiating. Arrangements were by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born in Erath County and had been a resident of Cottle County since 1919. She worked as a nurse. She was a homemaker and a member of First Methodist Church. She married Marvin C. Brown in 1927. He died in 1961. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Alyne Snider and Iva Jo Hermann. Survivors include four daughters: Rubye Rodgers and Peggy Harrison, both of Oklahoma City, Jimmye Taylor of Paducah and Reba Ray of Katmandu, Nepal; four sisters, Erma Franks of Tulia and Ruth Cunningham, Wanda Campbell and Lorene Kirkland, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Lonnie "Bill" Cornell of Memphis, Texas, and Clarence "Dude" Cornell of Clarendon; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. Freda A. Lloyd BOVINA - Freda A. Lloyd, 82, a former Bovina resident, died Saturday, July 10, 1998, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m Tuesday in Bovina United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don McNerlin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Lloyd was born in Hempstead County, Ark. She was a 60-year resident of Parmer County and Bovina. She moved to Amarillo in 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Bovina United Methodist Church. She married Paul L. "Buck" Lloyd in 1934 at Friona. He died in 1993. Survivors include three daughters, Pauline O'Hair of Lubbock, and Patricia Wright and Penny Lawlis, both of Amarillo; five brothers, Frank Hartsfield of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Finley Hartsfield, Floyd Hartsfield, Dale Hartsfield and Fred Hartsfield, all of Tyler; five sisters, Lou Taylor of Chadron, Neb., Flora Harmon of Hope, Ark., Flossie Hartsfield of Washington; and May Hartsfield and Nell Clover, both of Tyler; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Ben F. Lumpkins TULIA - Ben F. Lumpkins, 79, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Dean McNamara of Family Hospice of Plainview officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mr. Lumpkins was born in Delwin. He was raised and attended schools in Swisher County, where he farmed until 1949. He lived in Amarillo from 1949 until 1955, when he moved to Tulia. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was self-employed in retail sales of lawn sprinkler systems. He married Marie Huber in 1941 at Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jackie Brown of Keller; a son, Ben Lumpkins of Burnet; two sisters, Evelyn Johnson of New Port Richey, Fla., and Louise Hancock of Tulia; three brothers, Wallace Lumpkins and R.W. Norman Dewayne James BOOKER - Norman Dewayne James, 60, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services were at 10 a.m. today in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial was in Heart Cemetery at Booker by Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Mr. James was born on the family farm northeast of Booker in Beaver County, Okla., where he grew up. He graduated from Balko High School at Balko, Okla. He graduated from Dodge City Community College. He had been a farmer and rancher all his life and for the past few years had also worked at the co-op in Darrouzett. He married Donna Saunders in 1961 at Balko. They lived on the family farm for four years before moving to Booker. Survivors include three sons, Monty James of Booker, Brad James of Canyon and Nick James of Sonora; and five grandchildren. Richard Curry Lilley Richard Curry Lilley, 18, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Christ at Borger with Gary Bodine, minister, officiating. Cremation was handled by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Richard was born in Corpus Christ and had lived in Amarillo for five years. He was a former Borger resident. He had worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart. Survivors include a son, Gavin Anthony Lilley of Amarillo; parents, Tamra and Jimmy Adair of Amarillo and Monte and Becky Lilley of Dumas; two brothers, Jeromy Adair and Tye Adair, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Rana Richelle Lilley of Dumas, Briana Jo Lilley and Brittany Jean Lilley, both of Amarillo and Julie Adair of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandparents, Gene and Marg Lilley of Durant, Okla., Carol and O.D. McNaughton, 87, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Littleton, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with graveside rites by Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McNaughton was born in Maude and was raised in Gillam, La. She moved to Pampa in 1935. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Pampa Garden Club, a bridge club and was a member and Past Worth Matron of the Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a pianist. She married Clyde J. McNaughton in 1928. He died in 1973. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur Joe McNaughton in 1936 and Jerry Clyde McNaughton in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Varney of Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Pampa or any hospice organization. Hazel Cornell PADUCAH - Hazel Cornell, 81, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor, and the Rev. Jeff Utter, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Cornell was born in Dallas and had lived in Cottle County for a number of years, later living in San Antonio, She returned to Paducah in 1962. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired restaurant cook and homemaker. She married Homer Cornell in 1967. He died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Earl Bruce Cox of Valley View; two daughters, Margaret Taylor of Northfield and Judy Sunday of Paducah; a brother, Andrew Johnson of Weatherford; three sisters, Viola Wells of Kingsland, Marcella Richardson of Paducah and Josephine Bingham of San Juan Bautista, Calf.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
