Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Brady Christian and the Rev. Wayne Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel in Hereford. Mr. Hill was born in Abilene. He retired as a salesman with Continental Baking Co. after 15 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows. He married his first wife, Margarette, in 1942 at Claude. She died in 1984. He married Evelyn Marcum in 1984 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Jeanne Massel of Florida, Patricia Wilson of Colorado, Margarette Wisinger of San Antonio, Kathy Fishburn of Odessa and Rhonda Buie of Plainview; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at Schooler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends there from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Richard A. Boyter Richard A. "Butch" Boyter, 76, of Amarillo, died Monday, May 11, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Vulgan officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. Boyter had been a longtime Amarillo resident. He was a graduate of West Texas State University and a charter member of the Maverick Club of Amarillo. He was a former apartment manager and maintenance engineer. He retired from Corning in California. Mr. Boyter married Sarah Jeanene Holloway in 1984 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; and two brothers, LeRoy Boyter of Houston and Robert Boyter of Camarillo, Calif. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. The family requests memorials be to Buchanan Street Chapel, 1515 S. Buchanan St., Amarillo. Donna G. Galloway Donna G. Galloway, 57, of Amarillo, died Monday, May 11, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Emmanuel Church of Amarillo with the Rev. Jess Cortez, pastor, and the Rev. Joe Taylor, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by WarfordWalker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Galloway was born in Greenville and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1958. She graduated from Carver High School, Amarillo College and Texas Tech University. She was an employee of the Amarillo Independent School District for 19 years. She had taught at Hilltop and Robert E. Lee elementary schools. Survivors include her husband, R.E. Galloway; two sons, James C. Galloway of Dallas and Robert Galloway of Amarillo; two daughters, Joyce A. Galloway and Sonia Galloway, both of Amarillo; six brothers, Curtis Taylor, John D. Taylor, Charles Taylor, Joe Taylor, Lynn Cotton and Lorenzo Cotton, all of Amarillo; and 15 grandchildren. The family will be at 207 N. Jefferson St. New Mexico W. Leon Simnacher PORTALES, N.M. - W. Leon Simnacher, 58, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. James Terry officiating. Mr. Simnacher was born in Portales. He was raised in the Portales area and graduated from Floyd High School. He had worked for Santa Fe Railway since 1959. Mr. Simnacher married Nancy Newman in 1984 at Farwell, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melanie Grubbs of Greenville, Ark., and Rene Cathey of Portales; five stepdaughters, Cindy Riley, Julie Coleman, Bobbie King and Sherri Humble, all of Portales, and Shana Allen of Artesia; a stepson, Ben Newman of Albuquerque; his mother, Elizabeth Gammill Simnacher-Riley of Fort Sumner; two brothers, Faroy Simnacher of Houston, Texas, and Lee Simnacher of Fort Sumner; and 13 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Ronald McDonald House, 1212 Indian, Lubbock, Texas 79415. Rita Martinez PORTALES, N.M. - Rita Martinez, 72, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in St. Helen Catholic Church by the Rev. Anthony Martinez. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mrs. Martinez was born in Villanueva, where she lived until 1946. She married Modesto M. Martinez in 1945 at Villanueva. They moved to Portales after their marriage. Her husband died Saturday. Mrs. Martinez ironed for others and worked in fields in the area. For a short time after a fire destroyed the Tower Twin Theater, she worked on the clean-up crew to help get the site ready for new construction. She attended St. Helen Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Pete Martinez of Portales; a daughter, Joan Terry of Portales; a brother, Onesimo Chacon of Portales; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Area Wanna Sue Garmon GROOM - Wanna Sue Garmon, 47, died Sunday, May 10, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Groom Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson-Moore Funeral Home of Denison. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Dewey Methodist Church at Dewey, Okla. Miss Garmon was born in Groom. She was an ordained minister in the Methodist church. She was employed by the state of Oklahoma, living in Bartlesville. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Walter Garmon of Weatherford; five brothers, Mike Garmon of Plainview, Dr. John Garmon of Sanford, Fla., Steve Garmon of MeLean, Va., Dr. Robert Garmon of Aledo and Randy Garmon of Springtown; and a sister, Carol Anne Garmon of Amarillo. The family will be at 1507 Ennis St. in Plainview. They request memorials be to the United Methodist Church of Groom or a favorite charity. Flowers may be sent to 1507 Ennis St. Lois Elizabeth Smith BOVINA - Lois Elizabeth Smith, 82, died Tuesday, May 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, and the Rev. Neely Landrum of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Smith was born in Anderson County. She moved to Parmer County in 1940 from Palestine. She had lived in Bovina since 1989, moving from High Rolls Mountain Park, N.M. She was a postmaster in Lariat for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the Bovina Senior Citizens Quilting Club. She also participated in the Bovina schools volunteer reading program. She married Asa Smith in 1933 at Palestine. He died in 1997. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jerry, in 1939. Survivors include a son, Larry Smith of Bovina; three daughters, Shirley Ware of Bovina, Joy Stancell of Muleshoe and Sylvia Hand of Great Falls, Mont.; three sisters, Verna Harris of Athens, Texas, Doris Brede of Palestine and Lera Hanna of Crystal River, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild.
