Services will be held at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating with the Rev. Victor Mares of Templo Betel Spanish Assembly of God and Dr. Clifford Trotter, retired minister of Amarillo, assisting. Interment will be in Dumas Cemetery with arrangements by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Hunt was born in Dumas and was a lifelong Dumas resident. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1942 and then attended Texas Tech University. He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he resumed his interest in agriculture in Dumas and became a farmer and rancher. Mr. Hunt was co-founder of Cactus Feeders Inc. and New Way Pork Inc. He served on the board of directors at First National Bank of Dumas, Moore County Agriculture Stabilization & Conservation Service and Moore County Soil Conservation Service. He was director at large of Rita Blanca Electric Co-op and was a member and later president of the board of the Amarillo Production Credit Association. In 1986, Mr. Hunt was named Moore County Farmer/Rancher of the Year. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Dumas. He married Billie Stall in 1948. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brady Hunt and Brian Hunt of Dumas; a daughter, Brenda Hunt Ross of Richmond, Texas; a sister, Charlotte Regan of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and five grandchildren. The family will be at the family home west of Dumas. Rogers, 61, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Skellytown with the Rev. Jim Sinyard, associate pastor of Carpenter's Church of Pampa, and the Rev. Fred Palmer, pastor of Carpenter's Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Rogers was born in Taloga, Okla., and attended Borger High School. He joined the Navy in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1959. He went to work for IRI International in 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown. He was a member of many bowling teams at Pampa Harvester Lanes. He married Janet Davis in 1960 at Skellytown. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wes Rogers of Skellytown, Scott Rogers of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Jack Rogers of Ashland, Kan.; one daughter, Sonya Slaybaugh of Borger; two brothers, Robert Rogers of Sun City, Calif., and Charles Rogers of Amarillo; one sister, Murle Roberts of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren. Arrangements are by Overby Funeral Home of Kerrville with local arrangements by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Hall was born in Thurber. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis. She married Arnold L. Hall in 1928 at Levelland. Survivors include a son, Gayle D. Hall of San Antonio; a daughter, Flora Phillips of Memphis; a sister, Adaline Grant of Levelland; two brothers, Arnold C. Alzada Arrant QUANAH - Alzada Arrant, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998. Mrs. Arrant was born in Ardmore, Okla. She moved to Quanah seven years ago from Fort Worth. She was a housewife and member of the Baptist Church. She married Walter Arrant in 1968 at Crosbyton. He preceded her in death in 1972. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Belmond of Fort Worth, Tomma Morgan of Dallas and Jennie Knotts of Quanah; 16 grandchildren; 22 grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Robert L. Eubanks PAMPA - Robert L. Eubanks, 69, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be by Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge No. 1381. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Eubanks was born in Vernon and moved to Pampa in 1939 from Electra. He was a 1947 graduate of White Deer High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Eubanks was employed by Skelly, Getty and Texaco for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member and former worshipful master of the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge No. 1381 AF&AM and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since 1959. He married Reba Fagan in 1956 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Mark Eubanks of Folsom, Calif.; and a sister. The family requests memorials be to St. Paul United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Wynona Koetting GROOM - Wynona Koetting, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998. Mrs. Koetting was born in Hines, Iowa and lived in Kansas City throughout her teen-age years. She moved to Texas in 1927 and moved to Groom in 1973. During World War II, she worked for Hughes Tool. From 1946 until 1972, Mrs. Koetting was employed by Forum Cafeteria and Federated Department Stores in Houston as an accountant. She was a longtime volunteer for Veterans Hospital and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She married William G. Koetting in 1938 at Fort Bend. He preceded her in death in 1985. Survivors include a son, Robert "Bob" Koetting of Webster; and five grandchildren. Mary Louise Springer BORGER - Mary Louise Springer, 85, of Dallas and a former Borger resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church of Borger with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Springer was a native of Kansas City, Mo., and was a longtime Borger resident. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Springer, in 1993. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Raymond Springer of Forney; three sister-in-laws, Zelma Ruth Richman of Scurry, Valetta Aslin of Forney and Bernice Mars of Heath; and several nieces and nephews. Georgia St. Mrs. Worley was born in Winnsboro and moved to Amarillo in 1987 from League City. She was a saleswoman who worked at Coach House Gifts and American Greeting Card. She belonged to the First Assembly of God, Mother-in-Laws Club, West of 50s Group and The Top of the Hill Gang. Survivors include a son, Bill Gallet of Amarillo; a brother, Edward Leon Cooper of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Merrick, in 1974, and by two sons, James Merrick in 1989, and Bob R. Merrick in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, LaNelle Poling of Fritch, Joyce Schultz of Amarillo and Betty Leavelle of Irving; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She graduated from the Early Childhood Intervention program at the age of 3. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Brooks was born in Dardanelle, Ark. He moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Abilene. He was an Army veteran. He retired as branch manger for Kraft Foods Co. Mr. Brooks was a member of Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731 AF&AM, BPO Elks Amarillo Lodge No. 923 and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. He was a Baptist. He married Nancy Seago in 1931 at Tulsa. She preceded him in death in 1981. Survivors include a son, Joe F. Brooks Jr., of Amarillo; a brother, Allen Brooks of Duncanville; two sisters, Margaret Elliston of St. Louis and Mary Henderson of Shasta Lake, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Oklahoma Lacy Loosemore TEXHOMA, Okla. - Lacy Loosemore, 11, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1220 N. Quinn, Guymon. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon, with the Rev. Roberto Quant of Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery under the direction of DawsonWelch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Miss Loosemore was born in Guymon. Her family moved to Texhoma was she was an infant. She attended Texhoma Grade School. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linsay. Survivors include her parents, Raymon Joseph and Dedira DeAnn Loosemore of Texhoma; two sisters, Megan and Whitney Loosemore of Texhoma; and her grandfather, George Johnson of Texhoma. Oklahoma Cargill Hood ERICK, Okla. - Oklahoma Cargill Hood, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, in Denton, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Erick First Christian Church. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Hood was born near Cushing. With her husband, she owned and operated the Corner Drug Store in Erick for 35 years. She was a member of Erick First Christian Church for 69 years, the Eastern Star, Erick McDowell Music Club and was a former member of the Beckham County Tax Equalization Board. She married William Edgar Hood in 1926 at Wheeler, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Dr. William E. Hood of Oklahoma City and Jack R. Hood of Pampa, Texas; a daughter, Dede Hood Benton of Denton; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Wayne Howard Hayes BEAVER, Okla. - Wayne Howard Hayes, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Faith Community Chapel in Beaver with Dennis Warren and Bill Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mr. Hayes was born in Lincoln County. He was employed in the oil field as a roughneck. He was a member of Faith Community Chapel for more than 20 years. He married Bonnie Anna Laura Dickinson in 1931 at Sapulpa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald D. Hayes of Independence, Mo.; two daughters, Leanna J. Brady of Irving, Texas, and Marcy L. Howard of Beaver; two sisters, Mayme Hopkins of Oklahoma City and Alma Barlow of Edmond; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Kenneth M. Swallow FORGAN, Okla. - Kenneth M. Swallow, 78, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forgan Cemetery with Terry Fox officiating. Arrangements are by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mr. Swallow was born in Harper County. He was employed as superintendent of Beaver State Park for the Oklahoma Tourism Department. He was a retired Forgan firefighter and past member of the Forgan Lions Club. He married Mary A. Chester in 1941 at Liberal, Kan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Dean "Bud" Swallow of Laverne and Jerry Alvin Swallow of Forgan; a daughter, Frances Nadine Swallow Mitchell of Beaver; a sister, Thatah Faye Smith of Fort Supply; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Wilson Mouser RADCLIFF, Ky. - Wilson, Mouser, 76, a former Hereford resident, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. Services were held Aug. 7 in St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Radcliff with the Rev. Leo Craycroft, the Rev. Ivo Cecil, the Rev. Thomas Caldwell, the Rev. Tom Homrich, the Rev. Irvin Mouser, the Rev. Joseph Lyon and Bob Casper, deacon, officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Patrick Cemetery in Fort Knox. Arrangements were by Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. Mr. Mouser was a veteran of World War II. He was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and was a prisoner of war for 39 months. He was retired from Civil Service and the Army. In Hereford, Mr. Mouser was building and health inspector for the city of Hereford. He was a member of the Survivors of Bataan and Corregidor, Ex-POWs, Association of the United States Army, Radcliff Board of Adjustments, Disabled American Veterans and St. Christopher's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pauline "Polly" Mouser; and two sisters, Lillian Dean of Buckhannon, W.Va., and Willard Weaver of Philippi, W.Va. Box 2721, Elizabethtown, Ky., 42702-2721. L.A. Maddox Jr. BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION - L.A. Maddox Jr., 79, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Southwood Funeral Home with Malcolm Bane of First Baptist Church of College Station officiating. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery. Mr. Maddox was born in Roberts County and had lived in College Station for 42 years. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1945. He received his master's degree. Mr. Maddox retired from the Texas Agriculture Extension Service. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, past master of Miami Lodge No. 805 AF&AM, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and president of Brazos Genealogical Association. He was a member of Brazos Corral of Westerners, member and on the board of directors of SCORE, chairman and adviser council RSVP, executive committee Twin City Mission, on the board of directors of College Station Kiwanis Club, and president of Brazos County Community Council. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Gorret Maddox. Survivors include his wife, Tommie Sorenson; four sons, Larry Allen Maddox of Wilmington, N.C., David Maddox of Scottsdale, Ariz., Fred Maddox of College Station and Walt Sorenson of Tyler; a daughter, Susan Davenport of College Station; two brothers, Wayne Maddox of Miami and Raymond Maddox of Pampa; a sister, Deen Maddox of Amarillo; and 17 grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church of College Station or Hospice of Brazos County. Canyon Ann Palmer Ann Palmer, 67, of Canyon, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, associate pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with Phil Mercado officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Palmer was born in Pampa and graduated from Sweeney High School. She received her bachelor's degree in interior design from the University of Texas and her masters of art from West Texas State University. Mrs. Palmer taught at WTSU for two years and gave private art lessons for two years. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church of Amarillo, Tri State Artists Association, Canyon Fine Arts Club and Alpha Chi Omega at UT. She was a volunteer for Bethesda Outreach of Amarillo. Survivors include four sons, Kent Palmer of Amarillo, Doug Palmer of Irving and Frank Palmer and Steve Palmer, both of Carrollton; her stepmother, Genevieve Henderson of Denton; two stepbrothers, Jay Henderson of Ponder and Glen Henderson of Maryland; and five grandchildren. New Mexico Uylen Lee Hebison TATUM, N.M. - Uylen Lee Hebison, 61, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998 in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Tatum with the Rev. Glenn McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Tatum Cemetery by Bethany Funeral Home of Lovington. Mr. Hebison was born in Crossroads. He was a rancher and contract pumper. In 1976, he was ordained as deacon in Crossroads Baptist Church. He married Jane Nichols in 1955 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Della Jane of Amarillo and Laura Lee of Kermit, Texas; two sons, James Hebison of Fort Worth and Harvey Hebison of Lovington; his mother, Melissa Belle Hebison of Tatum; three sisters, Betty Pittman of Crane, Texas, Beverta Houston of Tatum and Belva Houston of Fort Stockton, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
