Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel in Lubbock with the Rev. Wilburn Coffman, emeritus of Southcrest Baptist Church of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Stanley was born in Bosqueville. She attended high school in Chillicothe, and from 1917 to 1919, she attended West Texas Normal College. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She married Fred Ross Stanley in 1923 at Vernon. He died in 1960. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert M. Stanley, in 1956. Survivors include two daughters, Kathryne Grinstead of Amarillo and Betty LeGrand of Bushland; two sons, Dudley R. Stanley and Kyle A. Stanley, both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Jerry Flowers Jerry Flowers, 75, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Gil Lain, pastor of Paramount Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Flowers was born in Caddo, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1922. She married L.E. Flowers in 1942 at Fresno, Calif. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Paramount Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Flowers of Amarillo and Tony Flowers of Panhandle; a brother, Joe Craghead of Amarillo; a sister, Loneta Fuqua of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the National Arthritis Foundation. Lois Nellie Reneau Lois Nellie Reneau, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Reneau was born in Haleyville, Ala. She had lived in Amarillo for 49 years. She was a cook at the Holiday Inn restaurant for 16 years. She was a member of Olsen Park Church of Christ. She married George Reneau in 1931 at Howell, Ark. He died in 1982. Survivors include four sons, Gene Reneau and Bill Reneau, both of Amarillo, Hayse Reneau of Cash and Norman Reneau of Borger; two daughters, Jane Cobb of New Albany, Ind., and Barbara Smith of Deer Park; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Nina Dwight Clarkson Nina Dwight Clarkson, 86, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Mueller of First United Methodist Church in Denton and the Rev. Rebecca Frank of First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Clarkson was born in Rotan and had been an Amarillo resident for more than 75 years. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.R. Dwight, after 27 years of marriage. She also was preceded in death by another husband, Jim Clarkson. Survivors include a son, Jerry Dwight of Richardson; two daughters, Barbara Thykeson and Cindy Barclay, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. New Mexico Carol David Miller Jr. CLOVIS, N.M. - Carol David Miller Jr., 57, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in San Felipe, Baja, Mexico. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Martin officiating. Mr. Miller was born in Roswell and lived in Clovis most of his life. He lived in Baja during the winter and in northern New Mexico during the summer. Survivors include a son, Dean Miller; two daughters, Stephanie Castle and Jennifer McKinney; a brother, Phillip Miller; a sister, Beverly Miller; his mother, Margaret Evelyn Miller; grandmother, Creasie Ingram; and two grandchildren. Hulon E. Bishop LOGAN, N.M. - Hulon E. Bishop, 75, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Tucumcari with the Rev. Mark Scott, minister of Kingswood Methodist Church in Clovis, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bishop was born in Milledgeville, Tenn. He served with the Air Force for 22 years before retiring in 1966 at the rank of master sergeant. After retiring, he spent 10 years in civil service employment. He was Baptist. He married Mary Ruth Comer in 1945 at Corinth, Miss. They have lived in Logan for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald Bishop of Portales, David Bishop of Clovis and Timothy Bishop of Tucumcari; a daughter, Debra Cotham of Artesia; a brother, Raford Bishop of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Betty Cone of Peoria, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home from this afternoon until Monday morning. Elsewhere Donna I. Hurt ARLINGTON - Donna I. Hurt, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Moore Funeral Home Bowen Road Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Ms. Hurt was born in Estelline. She was a former resident of Amarillo, where she was a deputy clerk for the city. She was retired. Survivors include a son, David W. Hurt of Arlington; and three grandchildren. Jerry Brackman EULESS - Jerry Brackman, 59, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery at Grapevine by Blue Bonnet Hills Funeral Home. Mr. Brackman was born in Atlanta, Texas. In 1941, he moved to Maple, where he attended school for 10 years at Three Way. His last two years of school were spent at Bula, where he graduated. He served six years in the Army, working with missiles and helicopters. He was employed by Bell Helicopter of Arlington for 34 years. Mr. Brackman married Nancy Atchley in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher Brackman of Grapevine; a daughter, Denise Nickels of Arlington; his mother, Irene Dilts of Muleshoe; a sister, Jewellene Scoggin of Alamogordo, N.M.; and two grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 2411 73rd St., Lubbock, Texas 79423. Oklahoma Edward Newton PRYOR, Okla. - Edward Newton, 93, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kan., with the Rev. Warren Hett officiating. Arrangements are by Stephens Memorial Chapel of Pryor. Mr. Newton was born in Gary, Ind. He had been active in the oil and gas business all of his life. He was president of Cimarron Transmission, Deerfield Petroleum and other companies. He also was mayor of Deerfield for several terms as well as being responsible for bringing a water and sewer system to the city. He retired at the age of 62. He lived in Kerrville, Texas, before moving to Amarillo in 1976. He had lived in Pryor for about a year. He married Mary Almira Coffman in 1923 at Drumright. She died in 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Bolinger of Amarillo and Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Area Stanley Lee Barnett PAMPA - Stanley Lee Barnett, 59, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Allen, retired minister, and the Rev. Jerry Arrington, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Barnett was born in Pampa and had been a lifelong Pampa resident. He was a resident of the Lynn Group Home. He had attended the Pampa Sheltered Workshop since 1971. He attended First Assembly of God Church and First Baptist Church. Survivors include three sisters, Mildred Salsman and Juanita Romines, both of Pampa, and Ruel Baxter of Stillwater, Okla. The family will be at 2300 Beech St. They request memorials be to Pampa Sheltered Workshop. Willie K. King PAMPA - Willie K. King, 98, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. M.B. Smith, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. King was born in Camp County and lived in Pittsburg most of her life. She had lived in Pampa the past 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas King; and a son, Merle King, in 1990. Survivors include a friend, Donald Gray of Pampa. Emma Lou Yerby PLAINVIEW - Emma Lou Yerby, 61, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ with Vance Crowe, camp director of Camp Blue Haven at Canyon, and Mike Prather of 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery at Kress by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Yerby was born in Waveland, Ark. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1954 and completed Draughon's Business College. She worked for the Channing and Happy school districts as a school bus driver and secretary. She also worked in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart as an aide. She was a member of 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school She married Ralph Yerby in 1955 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Yerby of Plainview; three daughters, Patricia Duncan of Lubbock, Lisa Hooser of Amarillo and Julie Clifton of White Deer; two brothers, John McCourt and Melvie McCourt, both of Danville, Ark.; two sisters, Edna Belle Wiseman of Waveland and Mary Thomas of Lake City, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Geraldine Wharton DALHART - Geraldine Wharton, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everett Statler, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Wharton was born in Shamrock. She married Rue Wharton in 1922 at Midland. They moved to the Dalhart area in the 1920s. They farmed and ranched in the Dallam and Hartley county areas. Mr. Wharton died in 1960. Mrs. Wharton became a member of Central United Methodist Church in 1937. She was a member of the 55 Plus Club and a lifetime member of the XIT Rangers and the Rhem Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Wells of Amarillo and Donna Lynn Tunnell of Germantown, Md.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be to the Senior Citizens Association or the 55 Plus Club. Isabella Marguerite Schultz HIGGINS - Isabella Marguerite Hennen Schultz, 95, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shattuck, Okla., with James Shires, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck. Mrs. Schultz was born in Blackwell, Okla. She spent her early childhood in several Oklahoma towns. Her high school years were spent in Shattuck, where she graduated in 1920 as vice president of her senior class. She also was editor of "The Sandbur," the first high school yearbook in Shattuck. After the summer session at Northwestern Normal School in Alva, Okla., she married William Schultz. Mrs. Schultz helped with Schultz General Store and with the family farming and ranching business. She was a painter and an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She and her husband moved to Higgins in 1960. After Mr. Schultz's death in 1990, Mrs. Schultz remained in Higgins until moving to Abraham Memorial Home in Canadian. Survivors include five children, George William, Mary Catherine, Norman Jerry, Janet Elizabeth and John Mark; and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. J.C. Callahan PLAINVIEW - J.C. "Slim" Callahan, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bennie R. Harris, pastor of The Gathering, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Callahan was born and raised in Jacksboro and attended school there. He moved to Plainview in 1946 and worked for Harry Igo. He later worked for Isaac's Feed. He owned and operated Slim's Farm Supply and then worked for Burress Feed Mills. He also operated a car wash for about 10 years before working for Wilson Grain and the Gravel Pit. Mr. Callahan moved to Dallas in 1968. He returned in Plainview in 1972 and again worked for the Gravel Pit, Slim's Trading Post and Garrison Oil. He was a member of the Oddfellows, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include two daughters, Anna Callahan and Dee Dean, both of Austin; a son, Joe Bob Callahan of Amarillo; a brother, Bud Callahan of Megargle; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Capitola Taylor MIAMI, Texas - Capitola Taylor, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Dunn, pastor of Lamont Drive Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Taylor was born in Miami and had been a lifelong Miami resident. She worked at the Miami post office, Ferg's Cafe and the Miami Independent School District. She also was a baby sitter for many years. She married Clyde R. Taylor in 1934 at Miami. He died in 1965. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church, the North Plains Home Demonstration Club, the Miami Senior Citizens Center and the Pioneer Club. Survivors include a niece, Ann Smith of Maryville, Pa. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Virgie Davidson CANADIAN - Virgie Davidson, 101, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hiram Reyes, associate pastor, and the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor of First Baptist Church of Shamrock, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery at Gainesville. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Davidson was born in Elias County. When she was a child, she lived with her grandparents in Waxahachie. She eventually moved to a farm near McKinney. She married John Davidson in 1916 at Gainesville. They moved to Canadian in 1922. Mr. Davidson died in 1962. She also was preceded in death by a son and two daughters. Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendly Needle Club. Survivors include a sister, Lucille Carroll of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Lora McElreath of Canadian.
