Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40 with the Rev. Allen Norris of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Gladney was born in Blanket and moved to Amarillo in 1943. He worked as a janitor for the Amarillo Independent School District and also in the landscaping industry. He married Nora Gollihugh in 1934. She died in 1994. He also was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Gladney, in 1939. Survivors include two sons, Tony Gladney of Hillsboro, Ore., and John L. Gladney of Longview; two daughters, Juanita Farnsworth of Wentworth, N.H., and Billie James of La Junta, Colo.; two sisters, Adalee Kummerfield of California and Oleta Bentley of South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Richard Curry Lilley Richard Curry Lilley, 18, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Church of Christ at Borger with Gary Bodine, minister, officiating. Cremation was handled by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Richard was born in Corpus Christi and was a former Borger resident. He had lived in Amarillo for five years where he had been employed as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Gavin Anthony Lilley of Amarillo; his parents, Tamra and Jimmy Adair of Amarillo and Monte and Becky Lilley of Dumas; two brothers, Jeromy Adair and Tye Adair, both of Amarillo; six sisters, Rana Richelle Lilley of Dumas, Briana Jo Lilley and Brittany Jean Lilley, both of Amarillo and Julie Adair of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kimberly Ward and Ashley Ward, both of Corpus Christi; grandparents, Gene and Marg Lilley of Durant, Okla., Carol and O.D. Bliss of Borger, Verna Abernethy of Wheeler and Marjorie Lilley of Borger. The family will be at 1504 Clayton St. Manuel Rivera Rodriquez Jr. Manuel Rivera Rodriquez Jr., 83, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Waldo of Catholic Diocese of Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Rodriquez moved to Amarillo six months ago from Robstown. He had been a custodian for Robstown Independent School District for 17 years. He was married to Tomasina Ybarra who died in 1978. He is survived by a son, Elias Rodriquez of Amarillo. The body will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Jack Finchum Jack Finchum, 78, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home, 1010 W. Ninth. Mr. Finchum was born in Caddo Mills and moved to Amarillo in 1945. For most of his life, he was a rancher. He was employed by J. Lee Milligan Trucking for 17 years and was a member of the Cow Punchers Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Lynn Finchum. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Finchum; four daughters, Janice Greear and Joy Finchum, both of Amarillo, Jimmie Cantrell of Fort Worth and Mary Farris of Clarendon; three sons, Jerry Finchum and Donnie Finchum, both of Amarillo, and Ronnie Mack Finchum of Colorado. Pitschke, 74, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Arden Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Holmes, associate minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Pitschke was born in Denver and was an Army veteran of World War II. He moved to Amarillo in 1970 and was a 30-year sales associate for MontgomeryWard. Survivors include three daughters, Zoe Haskins of Oklahoma City, Mary Donlon of Tuckahoe, N.Y., and Susan Johnson of Amarillo; a brother, Robert G. Pitschke of Las Cruces, N.M.; a sister, Betty Gehlbach of Dundee, Ill., and five grandchildren. The family will be at 1911 Wisdom and request memorials be to a favorite charity. The body will not be available for viewing. Gertrude H. Bohmann Gertrude H. Bohmann, 88, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Bohmann was born in Germany and moved to Amarillo in 1973 from Chicago. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bohmann. She is survived by her niece, Inge Shalek of Bartlett, Ill., and several other nieces and nephews. Zeita Mae Barnes Zeita Mae Barnes, 75 died Sunday, July 12 1998. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Guy W. Barnes in 1941 at Clovis, N.M. Pinkie E. Lewis Pinkie E. Lewis, 82, of Houston and a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, July 9, 1998. Mrs. Lewis was a native of Texas. She retired from Pantex in 1982. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Amarillo and Bethal Baptist Church in Houston. She married Leon Lewis who preceded her in death. Area Norman Dewayne James BOOKER - Norman Dewayne James, 60, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services were at 10 a.m. today in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial was in Heart Cemetery at Booker by Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Mr. James was born on the family farm northeast of Booker in Beaver County, Okla., where he grew up. He graduated from Balko High School at Balko, Okla. He graduated from Dodge City Community College. He had been a farmer and rancher all his life and for the past few years had also worked at the co-op in Darrouzett. He married Donna Saunders in 1961 at Balko. They lived on the family farm for four years before moving to Booker. Survivors include three sons, Monty James of Booker, Brad James of Canyon and Nick James of Sonora; and five grandchildren. Lorena S. McNaughton PAMPA - Lorena S. McNaughton, 87, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Littleton, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with graveside rites by Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McNaughton was born in Maude and was raised in Gillam, La. She moved to Pampa in 1935. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Pampa Garden Club, a bridge club and was a member and Past Worth Matron of the Pampa Chapter 65 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a pianist. She married Clyde J. McNaughton in 1928. He died in 1973. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur Joe McNaughton in 1936 and Jerry Clyde McNaughton in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Varney of Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Pampa or any hospice organization. Hazel Cornell PADUCAH - Hazel Cornell, 81, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor, and the Rev. Jeff Utter, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Cornell was born in Dallas and had lived in Cottle County for a number of years, later living in San Antonio, She returned to Paducah in 1962. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired restaurant cook and homemaker. She married Homer Cornell in 1967. He died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Earl Bruce Cox of Valley View; two daughters, Margaret Taylor of Northfield and Judy Sunday of Paducah; a brother, Andrew Johnson of Weatherford; three sisters, Viola Wells of Kingsland, Marcella Richardson of Paducah and Josephine Bingham of San Juan Bautista, Calf.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Jo Rudd Burney HEREFORD - Jo Rudd Burney, 88, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Odessa. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Terry Cosby of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Burney was born in Little Elm. She was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Garden Club and also of the Study Club. She married Bruce Burney in 1933 at Henrietta. He died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Taylor of Odessa; two sons, Gerald Burney of Dalhart and Chick Burney of Friona; a brother, Roy Kenneth Johnson of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren. Ryan Earl Brooks PLAINVIEW - Ryan Earl Brooks, 4 month old infant son of Robert and Helen Brooks, died Friday, July 10, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Happy Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Chatham officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Ossie Curry Funeral Home. Mr. Brooks was born in Lubbock and lived in Plainview. Survivors include his parents; two brothers; three half-sisters; and his grandparents, Lois Jackson, Alton Jackson, Artie Brooks and James Brooks. Michael Ann Rojas SPEARMAN - Michael Ann Rojas, 34, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel of Booneville, Ark. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Magazine, Ark. Mrs. Rojas was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Rojas; her mother, Madylene Cooper; and three sisters, Debra Lynn Horton and Jake Randall Cooper, both of Magazine, and Freddie LaDawn Ray of Booneville. Elsewhere Pansy Edith Burdett KINGSLAND - Pansy Edith Burdett, 83, died Monday, July 6, 1998. Services were at 9 a.m. Friday, July 10, in Edgar Funeral Home at Marble Falls with Mark Hanstein officiating. Burial was in the Marble Falls Cemetery. Mrs. Burdett was born in Anson. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1935. She was a physical education instructor at UT, the University of Idaho and also at Sul Ross State College. She was involved with Christian Youth Camps and programs. She and Clarence W. Burdett were married for 60 years. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Buck W. Burdett of Marble Falls and Thomas L. Burdett of Amarillo; a daughter, Donna Preston of Marble Falls; three sisters, Rosalind Rollins of Amarillo, Marigold Conboy of Green Valley, Ariz., and Gloria Hoot of Cold Springs; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Thomas Ralph Maggi SPRING BRANCH - Thomas Ralph Maggi, 69, a former resident of Panhandle, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Crofts Funeral Home at Blanco with the Rev. James Dudley officiating. Cremation was handled by Clements-Wilcox Crematory at Burnet. Mr. Maggi was born in Maspeth, N.Y. He attended school in Maspeth. He had worked for the New York City water department and drove a bus in New York. He moved to Panhandle in 1962 where he operated the Shamrock Service Station for several years. He also worked as a millwright at the Nichols Plant at Borger, Texas. He served two years in the Army and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6972 at Panhandle. He moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1978 where he worked as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Vivian; two daughters, Julia Maggi of Amarillo and Debbie Stephens of Austin; Dale; a son, Richard Maggi of San Francisco; a brother, Joseph Maggi of Haupauge. Willie Brink GRAND PRAIRIE - Willie Brink, 77, died Saturday, July 11, 1998. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Southland Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Cromer officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with the Rev. Richard Dickerson officiating. Arrangements are by Southland Funeral Home. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Brink Aporta of Grand Prairie, and Kimberly Brink and Gene Dean, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Mozelle Lynskey of Rowlett and Effie Colvin of Carnegie, Okla. seven grandchildren; and a greatgrandson. Lena Pearl Baker VERNON - Lena Pearl Baker, 90, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Douglas Hall officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was born in Johnson County and had been a Wilbarger resident since 1918. With her late husband, she farmed and owned a custom harvesting operation. She was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ. She married Buster Baker in 1927 at Crowell. He died in 1987. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Carroll Baker, in 1995, and Jackie Bob Baker, in 1977. Survivors include three sons, William Buster Baker of Dickinson, Donald Ray Baker of San Diego and Robert D. Baker of Amarillo; six daughters, Frances Walker of Vernon, Mary Katherine Holden and Carolyn Homer, both of Amarillo, Betty Jean Anderson of Miami, Imogene Collins of Fort Worth and Judy Norris of Arlington; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Waller LINGO, N.M. - J.D. Waller, 82, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Roswell. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel of Portales, Inc., with Chris Swinford officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Mr. Waller was born in Lingo and had lived his entire life in the Lingo and Dora areas. He was a breeder of Angus cattle for many years. He was a member of the New Mexico Angus Association. He married Oma L. Ellerd in 1942 at Portales. She died in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Wiley Waller of Tatum and Waylon Waller of Roswell; a sister, Iva Leland Brooks of Portales; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
