Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev. Keith Boutwell, chaplain of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, officiating. Cremation was handled by Rector Funeral Home. Mrs. Bieber was born in Grafton, W. Va., and moved to Amarillo 30 years ago from Lubbock. She worked for Furrs Cafeteria in Lubbock and as a baby sitter in Amarillo. She was a volunteer at Catholic Family Service and for the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bieber, in 1980. Survivors include a friend, Barbara Stewart of Amarillo. The family will be at 927 Crockett and request memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Susan Jershua Rhinehart Phillips Susan Jershua Rhinehart Phillips, 91, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Private family services will in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Home of Clarendon. Mrs. Phillips was born in Harlan County, Ky. She had worked at St. Joseph's Hospital at Burbank, Calif., and retired from Mercy Hospital at Detroit. She moved to Clarendon from Detroit in 1993 and recently moved to Amarillo. She was preceded in death by three husbands and five sons. Survivors include a son, Cecil Rhinehart of Amarillo; five sisters, Annie, Minnie, Mae, Margaret and Ida, all of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Ruth Burnett Ruth Burnett, 72, of Bernardsville, N.J., died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Jimmy Evans, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church of Amarillo, officiating. Cremation was handled by Rector Funeral Home. Mrs. Burnett was born in Weehauken, N.J. She had been a registered nurse for 40 years. She was a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God at Berkley Heights, N.J. She married Edwin G. Burnett in 1952 at Jersey City. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bonnie E. Carroll of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, John P. Murphy of Union City, N.J., and Gerald G. Murphy of Mineral Wells; a sister, Grace Colascibetta of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Dorothy Bell Kiefer Lindsley - Dorothy Bell Kiefer Lindsley, 73, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Lindsley was born in Fort Cobb, Okla., and lived in Elk City, Okla., before moving to Amarillo in 1960. In 1981, she retired after 15 years as a secretary at Great Southern Life Insurance Company. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Bobby Ray Lindsley in 1948 at Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960 and by a son, Robert E. Lindsley, in 1989. Survivors include a son, Michael S. Lindsley of Amarillo; her mother, Doris Kiefer of Anadarko, Okla.; a sister, Donis Adkins of Amarillo; three brothers, Freal Kiefer of Apache, Okla., Forrest Kiefer of Fort Cobb, Okla., and Robert Kiefer of Anadarko; and a grandson, Matthew S. Lindsley of Amarillo. The body will be available for viewing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Paul Watson Welch Paul Watson "Watt" Welch, 87, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Park Place Towers with Dr. Chester O'Brien officiating. Cremation is by Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mr. Welch was born in Henderson and grew up in Earth. He moved to Amarillo and Pampa. For 40 years, he worked in the auto-service industry. In Pampa and Big Spring, he was employed by Motor Inn Auto Supply. He owned and operated service stations in Amarillo and Colorado Springs, Colo., then retired in 1970. He married Conyetta Walck in 1947 at Beaumont. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Valta Welch Trusty of Pampa and Doris Welch Reid of Amarillo; a brother, Henry Ray Welch of Navajo Dam, N.M.; a sister, Faye Stalder of Daly City, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Don Griffith Don Griffith, 77, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Griffith was born in Kansas City, Mo., and was adopted as an infant. He was raised in Clovis, N.M., and was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1971, he moved to Amarillo. He was employed by Zale's Jewelry in 1961 and retired from their Wagner's Jewelers Store in 1986. He was a member of Olsen Park Baptist Church. He married Bobbye McWilliams in 1958 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Karron Mazur of Pueblo, Colo.; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 5747 Wabash. Louise McAnally McGahan Louise McAnally McGahan, 90, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Lynn Garrett of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. McGahan was born in Collin County and lived in Amarillo for 58 years. In 1973, she retired after 25 years with Shamrock Oil & Gas. She was a member of Eastern Star Boneta Chapter No. 184, Khiva Temple No. 70 Daughters of the Nile and First Baptist Church. Mrs. McGahan moved to Leawood, Kan., two years ago. She married Elmer R. McGahan in 1936 at Abilene. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Thomas H. McGahan of Leawood; and two grandchildren. Atha Menefee Helbert Atha Menefee Helbert, 92, of Pampa, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40 of Amarillo. Mrs. Helbert was born in Sperry, Okla., and was a lifetime resident of the Panhandle. She was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church of Pampa. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Evelyn Menefee and Charlie Helbert. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Brock of Bartlesville, Okla., and Dorothy Worley of Pampa; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of the Panhandle. Oklahoma Norma Ruth Blossom TULSA, Okla. - Norma Ruth Blossom, 77, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Moore's Eastlawn Chapel of Tulsa. Mrs. Blossom was born in Fort Worth and lived in Amarillo from 1946 until 1969. She moved to Dallas and Tulsa in 1970 where she was a member of Rolling Hills Country Club until 1995. She married James Blossom in 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, John James Blossom. Survivors include a son, Donald Lewis Blossom; and two sisters, Evelyn DeRoule and Patricia Kiihn of Amarillo. Elsewhere Eva B. Richardson Slater DALLAS - Eva B. Richardson Slater, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Arrangements are by Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mrs. Slater was born in Thornton and raised in Dallas where she graduated from Oak Cliff High School. In 1926, she graduated from Southern Methodist University. She taught school in West Texas and then returned to Dallas. Mrs. Slater was employed in the library at SMU. After her marriage, she lived in Rochelle, Menard, Ozona, San Antonio, Houston and Amarillo. After her husband was elected bishop of the United Methodist Church, she lived in Topeka, Kan., then San Antonio and returned to Dallas. She married Oliver Eugene Slater in 1931 at Dallas. He died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Slater Edenborough of Napa, Calif.; a son, Stewart Eugene Slater of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Bishop O. Eugene and Eva B. Slater Endowment, benefiting the Perkins Intern Program. Area Woody Dinsmore BORGER - Woody Dinsmore, 80, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Dinsmore was born in Commerce and had lived in Borger for 52 years. He was a Navy Seabee during World War II. He was the retired owner of Artistic Cleaners, was a member of First Baptist Church and Isom Masonic Lodge 1242. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVelle Dinsmore, in 1978. Survivors include two sons, Dinnie Dinsmore of Borger and Rodney Dinsmore of Euless; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Angel Guadalupe Corral PLAINVIEW - Angel Guadalupe Corral, infant son of Fernando and Dalia Corral, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Plainview Cemetery with Jerry Kinney of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements were by Lemons Funeral Home. Aurora Falcon Garza PLAINVIEW - Aurora Falcon Garza, 73, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Garza was born in Mexico. She married Pablo V. Garza in 1942 at Mexico. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Minga Rodriguez of Plainview and Miros Mercado of Amarillo; three sons, Eleno Garza of Happy Union and Rafael Garza and Pablo Garza, both of Plainview; a brother, Felipe Falcon of Los Fresnos; two sisters, Antonia Carmona of Rio Hondo and Lupe Betancourt of Tulia; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mary Rachel Flowers HEREFORD - Mary Rachel Flowers, 97, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Chapel with the Rev. Rick Burkhalter, pastor of St. Mathew's United Methodist Church of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Flowers was born in Tazewell, Va., moved to Hereford in 1906 and graduated from Hereford High School in 1922. She was a farmer, homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church. In 1980, she moved to Lubbock. She married Adam Flowers in 1928 at Hereford. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972 and by a son, Jack Flowers, in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Nell Dean Coulson of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Helen Woolley DUMAS - Helen Woolley, 69, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ with Allen Kramer, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Woolley was born in El Paso and had lived in Dumas since 1979. She formerly lived in New Mexico. In 1995, she retired after 15 years as librarian at Killgore Memorial Library. She was a member of Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ. She married Jean A. Woolley in 1949 at Abilene. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and by a son, Albert Donald Woolley, in 1980. Survivors include a son, John Woolley of Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Lynda Fisk and Becky Mitchell, both of Dumas, and Penny Poston of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and a sister, Gladys Pate of Clinton, Ark. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin was born in Paducah. She was active in the Union Flat Home Demonstration Club, member and past nursery worker of First Baptist Church, PTA president and Blue Bird leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Martin, in 1986. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Louise Smith and Frances Wadley, both of Childress, and Carolyn Sue "Susie" Dickey of Garland; a brother, Clinton Woodley of Paducah; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Alta Lee Pritchard QUANAH - Alta Lee Pritchard, 89, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Quanah Memorial Park with the Rev. John Spangler, minister of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Pritchard was born in Tulia and had lived in Quanah since 1911. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married J.D. Pritchard in 1931 at Hollis, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by two sons, Bobby Lee, in 1990 and Johnny Allen in 1945. Survivors include three daughters, Joy Dee Randolph and Donna Sue Bagby, both of Quanah, and Sherry Ann Trammell of Eldorado, Okla.; two sons, Jerry Don Pritchard of Alvarado and Lonny Pritchard of Quanah; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Claude R. Collins FRITCH - Claude R. Collins, 73, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fritch Church of the Nazarene with Jim Russell, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mr. Collins was born in Hardeman County and served in the Navy during World War II. He moved to Moore County in 1951 and worked for American Zinc until its closure. He moved to Fritch in 1973 where he was employed by Natural Gas Pipeline from 1971 until 1989. He was a member of Fritch Church of the Nazarene. He married Ava Lee Davis in 1946 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Kay Schell of Perryton; a son, Galen Collins of Duncanville; four brothers, Curtis Collins of Borger, Lewis Collins of Amarillo, Robert Collins of Sunray and B.J. Seventh, Amarillo, TX 79107; or to Fritch Church of the Nazarene. William Habekott DUMAS - William "Billy" Habekott, 19, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor, and the Rev. Robbie Holcomb, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Habekott was born in Dumas where he was a lifetime resident. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1997 and was a certified nurse's aide. He married Emma Hanson in 1997 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Jimmie and Yulanda Habekott of Dumas; a brother, Virgil Habekott of Navasota; a sister, Christy Habekott of Dumas; and his grandparents, Ed and Cassie Gilman of Dumas and Ada Fox of Higgins.
