Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Reneau was born in Haleyville, Ala. She had lived in Amarillo for 49 years. She was a cook at the Holiday Inn restaurant for 16 years. She was a member of Olsen Park Church of Christ. She married George Reneau in 1931 at Howell, Ark. He died in 1982. Survivors include four sons, Gene Reneau and Bill Reneau, both of Amarillo, Hayse Reneau of Cash and Norman Reneau of Borger; two daughters, Jane Cobb of New Albany, Ind., and Barbara Smith of Deer Park; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Nina Dwight Clarkson Nina Dwight Clarkson, 86, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Mueller of First United Methodist Church in Denton and the Rev. Rebecca Frank of First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., officiating. She was a homemaker and a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.R. Dwight, after 27 years of marriage. She also was preceded in death by another husband, Jim Clarkson. Survivors include a son, Jerry Dwight of Richardson; two daughters, Barbara Thykeson and Cindy Barclay, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Huggins retired as a driver for ICX and was a member of Retired Teamsters Union Local No. 577. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. He married Jeanette Crump in 1988 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Charline Huggins. She worked as a nurses aide in El Paso from 1973 until 1985 then was employed by Home Health Care in Amarillo. She retired in 1989. Mrs. Ulibarri was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the C.O.R.E. Group of that parish. She married Eugene Ulibarri in 1948. He died in 1970. She retired after 30 years of employment with the Department of Transportation. She married Rod Johnson in 1943 at Ruidoso, N.M. He died in 1986. Ruth Leforge Klein Ruth Leforge Klein, 87, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Klein was born and raised in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1927. She studied architecture at Texas Tech University. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Klein was a member of the Women's Association, Sara Seward Circle, and the Amarillo Club. She had served as chairman of the circle in 1994 and 1995. She was a charter member of the Chapter CV, P.E.O. Sisterhood. She married Eugene H. Klein Sr. in 1929 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Richard P. "Rick" Klein, and a grandson. Survivors include a son, E.H. "Gene" Klein Jr. of Amarillo; a daughter, Alice Snook of Amarillo; a brother, Paul M. Area Emma Lou Yerby PLAINVIEW - Emma Lou Yerby, 61, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ with Vance Crowe, camp director of Camp Blue Haven at Canyon, and Mike Prather of 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Kress Cemetery at Kress by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Yerby was born in Waveland, Ark. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1954 and completed Draughon's Business College. She worked for the Channing and Happy school districts as a school bus driver and secretary. She also worked in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart as an aide. She was a member of 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school She married Ralph Yerby in 1955 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Yerby of Plainview; three daughters, Patricia Duncan of Lubbock, Lisa Hooser of Amarillo and Julie Clifton of White Deer; two brothers, John McCourt and Melvie McCourt, both of Danville, Ark.; two sisters, Edna Belle Wiseman of Waveland and Mary Thomas of Lake City, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Geraldine Wharton DALHART - Geraldine Wharton, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everett Statler, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Wharton was born in Shamrock. She married Rue Wharton in 1922 at Midland. They moved to the Dalhart area in the 1920s. They farmed and ranched in the Dallam and Hartley county areas. Mr. Wharton died in 1960. Mrs. Wharton became a member of Central United Methodist Church in 1937. She was a member of the 55 Plus Club and a lifetime member of the XIT Rangers and the Rhem Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Wells of Amarillo and Donna Lynn Tunnell of Germantown, Md.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Isabella Marguerite Schultz HIGGINS - Isabella Marguerite Hennen Schultz, 95, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shattuck, Okla., with James Shires, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck. Mrs. Schultz was born in Blackwell, Okla. She spent her early childhood in several Oklahoma towns. Her high school years were spent in Shattuck, where she graduated in 1920 as vice president of her senior class. She also was editor of "The Sandbur," the first high school yearbook in Shattuck. After the summer session at Northwestern Normal School in Alva, Okla., she married William Schultz. Mrs. Schultz helped with Schultz General Store and with the family farming and ranching business. She was a painter and an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She and her husband moved to Higgins in 1960. After Mr. Schultz's death in 1990, Mrs. Schultz remained in Higgins until moving to Abraham Memorial Home in Canadian. Survivors include five children, George William, Mary Catherine, Norman Jerry, Janet Elizabeth and John Mark; and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. J.C. Callahan PLAINVIEW - J.C. "Slim" Callahan, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bennie R. Harris, pastor of The Gathering, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Callahan was born and raised in Jacksboro and attended school there. He moved to Plainview in 1946 and worked for Harry Igo. He later worked for Isaac's Feed. He owned and operated Slim's Farm Supply and then worked for Burress Feed Mills. He also operated a car wash for about 10 years before working for Wilson Grain and the Gravel Pit. Mr. Callahan moved to Dallas in 1968. He returned in Plainview in 1972 and again worked for the Gravel Pit, Slim's Trading Post and Garrison Oil. He was a member of the Oddfellows, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors include two daughters, Anna Callahan and Dee Dean, both of Austin; a son, Joe Bob Callahan of Amarillo; a brother, Bud Callahan of Megargle; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Capitola Taylor MIAMI, Texas - Capitola Taylor, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Dunn, pastor of Lamont Drive Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Taylor was born in Miami and had been a lifelong Miami resident. She worked at the Miami post office, Ferg's Cafe and the Miami Independent School District. She also was a baby sitter for many years. She married Clyde R. Taylor in 1934 at Miami. He died in 1965. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church, the North Plains Home Demonstration Club, the Miami Senior Citizens Center and the Pioneer Club. Survivors include a niece, Ann Smith of Maryville, Pa. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Virgie Davidson CANADIAN - Virgie Davidson, 101, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery at Gainesville. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Davidson was born in Elias County. When she was a child, she lived with her grandparents in Waxahachie. She eventually moved to a farm near McKinney. She married John Davidson in 1916 at Gainesville. They moved to Canadian in 1922. Mr. Davidson died in 1962. She also was preceded in death by a son and two daughters. Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and the Friendly Needle Club. Survivors include a sister, Lucille Carroll of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Lora McElreath of Canadian. Mr. Boen was born in Mission. He graduated from Quail High School in 1962. He moved from Lubbock to Fort Worth in 1965. He was self-employed as an air conditioner service worker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Tucumcari with the Rev. Mark Scott, minister of Kingswood Methodist Church in Clovis, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bishop was born in Milledgeville, Tenn. He served with the Air Force for 22 years before retiring in 1966 at the rank of master sergeant. After retiring, he spent 10 years in civil service employment. He was Baptist. He married Mary Ruth Comer in 1945 at Corinth, Miss. They have lived in Logan for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald Bishop of Portales, David Bishop of Clovis and Timothy Bishop of Tucumcari; a daughter, Debra Cotham of Artesia; a brother, Raford Bishop of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Betty Cone of Peoria, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until Monday morning. Edgar Lewis Warren CLOVIS, N.M. - Edgar Lewis Warren, 83, of Sweetwater, Texas, and a former resident of Clovis, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Baptist Church of Clovis. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by SteedTodd Funeral Home. Mr. Warren was born in Talpa, Texas. He moved to New Mexico in 1937 and was a Clovis resident for 54 years before moving to Sweetwater in 1991. He was employed as a theater manager for Frontier Theatres. Survivors include his wife; Norma Jean Warren; a daughter, Virginia Bolin of Clovis; four sons, Lewis Warren of Waukesha, Wis., James Warren of Arvada, Colo., Gary Warren of Piedmont, Mo., and David Warren of Sweetwater; two sisters, Mary Aaron of Clovis and Valta McIntyre of Oklahoma City; a brother, Alton Warren of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. H.P. Caroland CLOVIS, N.M. - H.P. Caroland, 74, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, in Phoenix. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas P. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mr. Caroland was born in Waurika, Okla., and had been a Clovis resident since 1926. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1942. He was a veteran of the Air Force. Mr. Caroland and his brother operated Caroland Garage for many years. After his retirement, he was a school bus driver. He was a member of Central Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Jilek of Clovis and Alice DiGiovanni of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Philip Caroland of Clovis; a brother, L.C. Caroland of Clovis; a sister Clyde Alice Black of Friona, Texas; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 2116 Gidding. Chonita W. Adams ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Chonita W. Adams, 89, a former Clovis resident, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Melrose with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Coy Brewer officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Adams was born in Melrose. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm and ranch. She attended the Field Baptist Church while living in the Field community. She was a member of the Willing Workers Homemakers Club. She was class mother for her children. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Melrose Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star where she presided as Worthy Matron in 1991. After retiring from farming and ranching, she and her husband moved to Clovis where she lived for more than 30 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis. She moved to Albuquerque eight years ago. She married James R. Adams who died in 1966. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Drucilla Stanford. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Carter of Albuquerque and Jimmie Hancock of Hampton, Va.; a son, Bob Adams of Clovis; a brother, Don Newbill of Keaau, Hawaii; a sister, Romaine Maynard of Canoga Park, Calif.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Elsewhere Donna I. Hurt ARLINGTON - Donna I. Hurt, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services were at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Moore Funeral Home Bowen Road Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Ms. Hurt was born in Estelline. She was a former resident of Amarillo, where she was a deputy clerk for the city. She was retired. Survivors include a son, David W. Hurt of Arlington; and three grandchildren. Jerry Brackman EULESS - Jerry Brackman, 59, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery at Grapevine by Blue Bonnet Hills Funeral Home. Mr. Brackman was born in Atlanta, Texas. In 1941, he moved to Maple, where he attended school for 10 years at Three Way. His last two years of school were spent at Bula, where he graduated. He served six years in the Army, working with missiles and helicopters. He was employed by Bell Helicopter of Arlington for 34 years. Mr. Brackman married Nancy Atchley in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher Brackman of Grapevine; a daughter, Denise Nickels of Arlington; his mother, Irene Dilts of Muleshoe; a sister, Jewellene Scoggin of Alamogordo, N.M.; and two grandchildren. Patsy Leonard GATESVILLE - Patsy Leonard, 66, a former resident of Quanah, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Quanah with the Rev. Jesse Dea officiating. Burial will be in Goodlett Cemetery in Goodlett. Arrangement are by Scott's Funeral Home of Gatesville. Mrs. Leonard was born and raised in Goodlett. After the death of her husband in 1988, she moved to Gatesville. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married E.L. Leonard in 1947. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Ann Moody and Donna Cheryl Smith, both of Gatesville; a son, Edward Lee Leonard of Mound; a sister, Betty Jean Collins of Memphis; and nine grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Oklahoma Edward Newton PRYOR, Okla. - Edward Newton, 93, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Kan., with the Rev. Warren Hett officiating. Arrangements are by Stephens Memorial Chapel of Pryor. Mr. Newton was born in Gary, Ind. He had been active in the oil and gas business all of his life. He was president of Cimarron Transmission, Deerfield Petroleum and other companies. He also was mayor of Deerfield for several terms as well as being responsible for bringing a water and sewer system to the city. He retired at the age of 62. He lived in Kerrville, Texas, before moving to Amarillo in 1976. He had lived in Pryor for about a year. He married Mary Almira Coffman in 1923 at Drumright. She died in 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Bolinger of Amarillo and Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Mike White TEXHOMA, Okla. - Mike White, 86, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Texhoma Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Davidson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. White was born in Churchville, Va., and moved to Texhoma in 1937. After his service with the Army, he returned to Texhoma in 1945. He was employed by Carl Craig until the late 1940s then was employed for Sherman County, Texas for 30 years. He was a member of the United Brethren Church. He married Ethyl Virginia Buzzard in 1945 at Winchester, Ky. She died in 1981. Survivors include a half-sister, Mary Peters; and a half-brother, Charley Peters. Ellen Haley Williams TULSA, Okla. - Ellen Haley Williams, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Williams was born in Okmulgee, Okla. She graduated from St. Mary's College and worked for many years as a medical laboratory technologist. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Williams of Tulsa; two sons, Roger Frederick Williams Jr. of Oklahoma City and Peter Haley Williams of Tulsa; and a brother, William John Haley Jr. of Pampa.
