Georgia St. Mrs. Brady was born in Borger and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947 and attended Amarillo College and the American Institute of Banking. She was an employee of American National Bank and was named assistant vice president in 1974. She became a senior vice president of lending for Texas American Bank in 1989. She retired in 1990. Mrs. Brady served on the board of directors of the Panhandle Plains Higher Education Authority. She also was a member of Women in Banking. She served on the board of directors of Easter Seals and was a supporter of the Greater Southwest Music Festival and Goodwill Industries, where she also served on the board of directors. She was a member of the chamber of commerce and the Women's Council of the Chamber. She also was a member of the United Way, where she chaired several committees. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Ray Brady in 1947 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dr. Kim Brady of Houston and Dawn Brady Evans of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and a brother, Bill Stephens of Amarillo. The family will be at 3708 Linda. John Wesley Sidlow John Wesley Sidlow, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 12, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery with Regi Fowler of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Sidlow was born and raised in Dodge City, Kan. He attended school in Dodge City before moving to La Junta, Colo. He worked in the oil fields and then moved to Kansas City, Kan., where he worked for General Motors. He married Isabelle Meneley in 1930. After the war, they moved to LaCrosse, Kan. They later moved to Garden City, Kan., where he worked at Meschke's Men's Wear. Mr. Sidlow moved to Amarillo in 1958 and worked at Blackburn Brothers' and White & Kirk for many years. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 923 in Amarillo. He moved to Phoenix in 1993. Mr. Sidlow married Juanita Burton in 1958. She died in 1971. Survivors include two sons, John W. "Jack" Sidlow and Mike Sidlow, both of Phoenix; a daughter, Suzanne Weltmer of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Charlene Chandler of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She married Aubrey Townsend Baker in 1938 at Boise City. They lived in Boise City for many years before moving to Turpin in 1970. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of the Home Extension Club at Clayton during the 1960s. She attended First Baptist Church. Mr. Baker died in 1995. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Carter was born in Oak Hill, Fla. He was raised in Mims, Fla., and graduated from Titusville High School. He then served in the Army for two years. He married Areitta Faye Shipman in 1967 at Marlow, Okla. In 1972, they made their home in Guymon, where Mr. Carter was employed with Phillips Petroleum. He retired in 1995 as plant operator. Mr. Carter was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Dewayne Carter. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rene' Holmes of Beaver; three sons, Michael Lance Carter of Guymon, Samuel Edwin Carter Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., and Jimmy Dean Carter of Marlow; a brother, Alfred O. Alice Beatrice Edgington BOISE CITY, Okla. - Alice Beatrice "Bea" Edgington, 78, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998. Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Adams officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Edgington was born in Milan, Mo. She was raised around Milan and graduated from the Pollock, Mo., schools. She moved with her sisters to Guymon, where she married Frank Donald Edgington in 1937. They lived in Guymon, Buffalo and Boise City. After moving to Boise City, they bought Boise City Machinery. They closed the store in 1985. Mrs. Edgington was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Alan Edgington and Ivan Edgington. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Edgington of Sand Springs; a brother, Kenneth Pearson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Lorraine Larrick of Jefferson City, Mo., and Lola Reger of Silvus, Ill.; and two grandsons. The family requests memorials be to the Cimarron County EMTS. Jefferson William Sanders BOISE CITY, Okla. - Jefferson William "Jeff" Sanders, 40, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Garlington Cemetery with Nathan Morgan and Bob Hobbs officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Sanders was born in Boise City. In 1975, he graduated from Boise City High School, where he was active in bull riding and rodeos. After high school, he enlisted in the Army, serving from 1976 to 1979 before being honorably discharged. He then attended Panhandle State University at Goodwell, Rocky Mountain College at Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Amarillo College at Amarillo. While he was in Amarillo, Mr. Sanders went into radio communications as a disc jockey. He also worked for Western GEO Physical for three years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Shea Sanders of Wichita, Kan., and Brooke Nicole Jenkins of Keyes; three brothers, Weldon "Bud" Sanders and David Lee Sanders, both of Houston, Texas, and James Roy Sanders of Sayre. He moved to Austin in 1976 and was co-owner of Up Against the Wall, a custom picture framing shop. Survivors include his mother, Bernice Crump Wyble of Amarillo; his stepfather, Leo Wyble of Amarillo; his life partner, Steve Brown of Austin; three sisters, Carolyn Richards of Pflugerville, Cindy Kunselman of Austin and Cathy Avery of Hereford; and a brother, Eddie Crump of Leander. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park Cemetery at Floydada by Parkside Chapel. Mr. Simpson was born in Sparta, Tenn. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of First Baptist Church at Floydada. He had served three terms on the Floydada City Council. Mr. Simpson served in the Army during World War II with the U.S. Occupation Forces in Japan. He also attended Texas Tech University. Pluma Lee Palmer DALHART - Pluma Lee Palmer, 89, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Everett Statler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Palmer was born in Kensington, Ga. She moved to the Plainview area at a young age. She married Garland Palmer in 1934 at Plainview. They moved to the Coldwater community, where they farmed, ranched and raised their family. They moved to Dalhart in 1956. Mr. Palmer died in 1992. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Rehm Home Demonstration Club. She was elected Woman of the Year in 1983. She also was active with the XIT Rangers Club and Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Emma Lee Smith and Geneva Pullen, both of Dalhart, and Janet Palmer of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mr. Johnson was born in Barbourville, Ky. He served with the Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II. He moved to Plainview in 1960. He worked for Hale County as a heavy equipment operator. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for 23 years. Mr. Johnson married Maxine Tubman in 1948 at Plainview. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Diane McCollum. Wiley E. Reynolds Jr. PAMPA - Wiley E. "Butch" Reynolds Jr., 60, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, in Tulsa, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Darrell Evans officiating. Burial will be at the Reynolds Shoe Nail Ranch with graveside rites by Miami Masonic Lodge No. 805 AF&AM. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Reynolds was born in Pampa. He attended Pampa schools and Kemper Military Institute at Booneville, Mo. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1956. During high school, he participated in football and wrestling. He attended Texas Christian University. He married Susie Schneemann in 1957. They moved to the Pampa area and were engaged in the family ranching business north of Pampa. They moved to the Reynolds Shoe Nail Ranch headquarters in 1994. He was voted Outstanding Young Farmer by the Pampa Jaycees in 1970. Mr. Reynolds was a member of the board of directors of the Top O' Texas Rodeo Association. He also was president and a member of the board of directors of the Panhandle Livestock Association. He served on the board of directors of the Hidden Hills Senior Golf Association and served as president in 1995. He also was a past deacon at First Christian Church. In 1962, Mr. Reynolds was raised to Master Mason in Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 1381 AF&AM. He held a dual membership in Dumas Lodge No. 1009 AF&AM this year. He was active in the Klown Unit in 1963 and was appointed director of the Khiva Temple that same year. Mr. Reynolds was elected president of the Moore County Shrine in 1967 and at that time became a member of the Royal Order of the Jesters. In 1986, he started through the chairs of Miami Masonic Lodge No. 805 AF&AM and completed as Master in 1991. He was elected to the Divan in 1988. He had held memberships in Pampa, Clarendon, Hereford, Borger and Perryton Shrine clubs. In 1992, he was elected as potentate of the Khiva Shrine Temple of Amarillo. He earned the Golden Trowel from the Miami Lodge in 1997. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Phyllis Ekleberry of Lancaster, Lillian Gross of Midland and Ruthie Richey of Pampa; a son, Bert Reynolds of Henderson; a sister, Pat Kennedy of Pampa; and nine grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Shriner Hospital for Children c/o Khiva Temple, P.O. Box 328, Amarillo, Texas 79105. Isla Frances Smith CLARENDON - Isla Frances Smith, 82, died Thursday, April 9, 1998. There will be no services. Cremation was Monday by Memorial Park Crematory in Amarillo. Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. Miss Smith was born in Moline, Ill. She moved with her family to Clarendon in 1917. She had worked as a secretary and librarian for most of her life. She was the librarian at Clarendon City Library for several years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include several cousins.
