Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Shamrock City Cemetery in Shamrock by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Henderson was born in Samnorwood and was a 1956 graduate of McLean High School. He was in the Texas National Guard 36th Division for 6 years. In 1989, he retired as maintenance man from Grand Junction School District. Mr. Henderson recently worked for the Amarillo Independent School District. He was a member of Northridge Church of Christ. He married Martha Nelson in 1973 at Grand Junction, Colo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne Henderson of Amarillo; a daughter, Tina Henderson of New York; his mother, Viola Carver of Amarillo; two brothers, Eugene Henderson and Roger Henderson, both of Amarillo; and five sisters, Shirley McClasky of Grand Junction, Peggy Sechrist of Oklahoma City, Cynthia Pollock of Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Sandra Johnson and Linda Rogers, both of Amarillo. The family will be at 2212 Woodbury Place. Curtis Searcy Sr. Curtis Searcy Sr., 80, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel of Roses with the Rev. H. J. Overstreet, pastor of True Vine Baptist Church in Tyler, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Searcy was born in Sulphur Springs and grew up in Greenville. In 1948 he came to Amarillo as a semi-professional baseball player with Johnny Carter's team. He was employed as first cook at Amarillo Country Club from 1949 until retirement in 1984. Survivors include his wife, Eloise Searcy; a son, Curtis Gerald Searcy of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday. The family will be at 404 N. Washington St. Mattie L. Hazelbaker Mattie L. Hazelbaker, 85, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Pleasant Valley Christian Church with Jerry Davey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Custer Masonic Cemetery, Custer City, Okla., by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Hazelbaker was born in Custer City, Okla., where she graduated from high school. In 1961 she moved to Amarillo from Seiling, Okla. She was a homemaker and a retired teacher's aide. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church. She married Emra Hazelbaker in 1933 at Custer City. He died in 1971. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Hazelbaker. Survivors include three sons, Richard E. Hazelbaker of Tennessee and Kenneth Hazelbaker and Johnny Hazelbaker, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Kathy Palmer of Euless and Sue Smith of Arapaho, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Tommy Lee Galyon Tommy Lee Galyon, 69, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Robison Chapel of the Plains, First Christian Church, with Dr. Alan Lobaugh, senior minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Galyon was born in Randleman, N.C. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota. Mr. Galyon served two years in the Navy and retired after 21 years from the Air Force. In the 1950s he was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base. In 1969 he moved to Amarillo. He worked briefly for the First National Bank before starting and operating several small businesses. Mr. Galyon was a member of First Christian Church, serving as a deacon and as president of the Congenial Couples Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Temple. Survivors include a son, Gregory Lee Galyon of Fort Worth; four sisters; one brother; and three grandchildren. Burial will be in Fort Sumner Cemetery in Fort Sumner by Wheeler Mortuary Inc. of Portales. Mrs. Byars was born on Haystack Mountain near Jester and Mangum, Okla. As a child, she moved to Hollis, Okla., for a short time before moving to Childress, Texas when she was 3. In 1921, she moved to Fort Sumner where she attended school and lived for many years. In 1972, Mrs. Byars and her husband moved to Vermont where she helped her daughter with a ceramic studio. They moved to Portales in 1985. She was a member of Third and Kilgore Church of Christ. She married Gus L. Byars in 1932 at Santa Rosa. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Shirley Ford-Wormington of Portales; a brother, Bill Potter of Tucumcari; a sister, Helen Edwards of Friona, Texas; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, Kan. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. DePriest was born in Macon County, Mo. In the 1920s she came to Cimarron County to live with her sister, Clara Davolt. She married George DePriest in 1949 at Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death. Survivors include nieces and nephews. He had lived in Hemphill for 18 years. He married Sandra Louise Parrie in 1981. She preceded him in death in 1993. Mrs. Porter was born in Amboy, Ill., and moved with her parents to the Chamberlain area in 1909. The family farm home was moved to Dalhart in the late 1930s and located at 502 Tennessee. Mrs. Porter was a longtime member of First Christian Church. She married Victor W. Porter in 1916. He died in 1972. Mrs. Porter also was preceded in death by her daughters, Dorothy Pauline Porter and Helen Irene Porter, in 1924, and by her son, Harry Walton Porter, in 1938. Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Villa Porter, Velma Porter and Nevada Porter, all of Dalhart, and Mary Porter Petty of Harrison, Ark. An Adrian resident since 1980, he was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator, gasoline transport driver and caretaker of a rest stop and information center. After retirement Mr. Mayhew owned an upholstery shop. He was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church. He married Betty Darlene Barone in 1948 at Arapahoe, Neb. Mrs. Lunsford was born at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, Calif. Her parents moved to the family farm near Farwell when she was six months old. She graduated from high school in Farwell in 1974. Mrs. Lunsford was employed for nine years as a Title I Program Instructor at Farwell Junior High. She was a member of Farwell Community Center Board, Farwell Booster Club and E.S.A. Sorority and a cheerleader sponsor. In 1986 she was selected as Farwell Woman of the Year. She belonged to First Baptist Church. She married Micky Lunsford in 1974. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Landon Lunsford and Mark Lunsford, and a daughter, Marni Lunsford, all of the home; her parents, Darrell and Bernice Norton of White Deer; a brother, Ray Norton of White Deer; a sister, Lori Hartley of Clovis; and her grandmothers, Frances Norton and Fern Christian, both of Farwell. Opal Ida Paschal CLARENDON - Opal Ida Paschal, 98, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. of Clarendon. Mrs. Paschal was born in Batesville, Ark. She was an Amarillo resident for almost 50 years before moving to Clarendon in 1989. She had worked at Pantex and later was a custodian at Elizabeth Nixon Junior High School in Amarillo. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Ed Clark at Texola, Okla. He preceded her in death. In 1958 she married Marvin Paschal at Canyon. He died in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Marie Jones of Clarendon; a son, Bill Clark of Amarillo; a sister, Cecile Lolley of Clovis, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. For 27 years she and her husband owned and operated Harp's Supply in Sunray. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Jimmy Don McCallie. He died in 1968. In 1971 she married Thomas Harp at Clayton, N.M. He was a member of the Main St. Board in Olton and belonged to the Antique Telephone Collectors Association.
