Reuss PERRYTON - Alma R. Reuss, 90, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Heart Cemetery at Booker with Dr. Don McDonald officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Reuss was born in Beaver, Okla., and had lived in the Perryton area many years. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She married E.M. Reuss in 1916 in Lipscomb County. He died in 1968. She also was preceded in death by a son, Bill Reuss, in 1991 and by a daughter, Lois Reuss Correll, in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Appel of Moorpark, Calif.; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Trinity Presbyterian Church of Perryton. Erwin L. Corbett BORGER - Erwin L. Corbett, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Cornerstone Church with James Loper, pastor, and David Heider, assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in The Garden of Devotion in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Corbett was born in South Paris, Maine, and had been a Borger resident since 1956. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. A retired inspector for Pantex, he was a member of Keeler Baptist Church. He married Bobbie Terry in 1945 at Borger. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Corbett, in 1977. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Terry Lee Corbett of Borger and Roger A. Corbett of South Paris; a daughter, Deborah Corbett Turner of Borger; four sisters, Phyllis Whitney, Janice Rosenberg and Leone Callinas, all South Paris, and Melva Simmons of Strasburg, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She grew up in Roswell, N.M., and Marble Falls where she graduated from high school. She moved to Plainview in 1952. Mrs. Ebeling was retired from Excel and had managed the American Legion. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ. She married Rudolph Ebeling in 1988 at Smithwick. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ronnie Onsrud of Plainview, Steve Kirbo of Jonestown and George Kirbo of Lubbock; a brother, Ernest V. He graduated as valedictorian of Menard High School, graduated from Baylor University and was in the first graduating class of Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He served in the medical corps in the Army. Dr. Burk moved to Amarillo in 1962 from Tulia. In 1984, he retired as a physician and member of Potter-Randall County Medical Society. For many years, he sang in the choir with First Baptist Church, where he was a member. He married Evelyn Howell in 1941 at Waco. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary M. Burk of San Francisco and Kenneth H. Burk of San Antonio; a daughter, Janice Van Lotz of Dallas; a sister, Shirley Heyman of San Angelo; and two grandchildren. Ella L. Rasnake Ella L. Mrs. Rasnake was born in Hardin County, Ohio. She was a homemaker. She married Marvin Rasnake in 1956 at LaGrange, Ind. Rasnake of Maiden, N.C.; a brother, Carl Bailey of Sunfield, Mich.; three sisters, Marjorie Robinson, Margaret Wells and Alice Bailey of Plainwell, Mich.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Davis was born in Happy and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was a homemaker and member of Bolton Street Baptist Church. She married Joe D. Davis in 1949 at Amarillo. He died in 1992. Mrs. Frost was born in Muskogee County, Okla., and was a member of the Cherokee Nation. She lived in Amarillo for 40 years where she was employed by the Amarillo school system for 10 years. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. She married Lloyd C. Frost in 1950. He died in 1990. Smith, 80, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Smith was born in Lydia and moved to Amarillo in 1980 from Lake City, Calif. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned Panhandle Leather and was a member of the American Legion and Paramount Baptist Church. He married Ann Hagedorn in 1948 at Dallas. Brown of Fort Worth; a sister, Mildred Allen of Houston; a granddaughter; and a greatgranddaughter. He was a veteran of the Marines. A deputy sheriff, he was a member of the Sheriffs Association. Mr. Shelton was an active volunteer for Christmas in April and Tyler Resource Center. He was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir and Cursillo. Survivors include his wife, Myrna Ann Shelton; two sons, Mike McPherson and Cliff Shelton; a daughter, Mindy Armstrong; his parents, Florence and Willis O. Shelton Sr.; and two grandchildren. "Sonny" Bell, 69, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bell was born in Midland and had lived in Amarillo since 1930. He was the owner/operator of Ideal Paint and Body Shop until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Bell was stationed in Germany from 1953 until 1955 where he served as a supply sergeant in the Army. He was a life master of duplicate bridge and a member of Second Baptist Church. He married Clara Holloway in 1954 at Seaside, Calif. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Toni Lynn Schumacher and Teri Lee Briones, both of Amarillo; an adopted brother, Richard Toler of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. John Mickie John Mickie, 67, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Mickie was born in Navasota. He retired as a truck driver for Plains Transportation. There are no known survivors. Canyon Foster Amburn Foster Amburn, 96, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Charles Price, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mr. Amburn was born in Jack County and moved to Floyd County in 1907. He attended Floydada High School and Draughon's Business College in Abilene. He was a 52-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Floydada. In his early years, Mr. Amburn farmed and then joined law enforcement at Floydada. In 1972, he retired as deputy sheriff of Floyd County and moved to Canyon. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Mariah Warren in 1924 at Floydada. She died in October. Survivors include a daughter, Juanelle Taylor of Canyon; two sons, Glen Amburn of Tulia and Thomas Amburn of Amarillo; a sister, Tommie Carter of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. New Mexico Ted Waite CLOVIS, N.M. - Ted Waite, 67, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jared Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with a ceremonial flight by Cannon Air Force Base. Mr. Waite was born in Tyrone, Pa. He moved to Clovis in 1971. He retired in 1977 after 28 years with the Air Force. He was a member of MADS Club, a model airplane club. He married Leona Hatch in 1950 at Sinking Valley, Pa. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Theodore Richard Waite Jr. of Lawton, Okla., Richard Lee Waite of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Kathy Christene Twite of Clovis and Barbara Diane Ruby of Buckeye, Ariz.; two brothers, William D. Waite of York, Pa., and Richard I. Waite Jr. of Bakersfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Sam John Digvonni CLAYTON, N.M. - Sam John Digvonni, 95, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home with Louis Montoya, deacon, officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Digvonni was born in Palermo, Sicily. He moved to Clayton in 1974 from Bisbee, Ariz. From 1905 until 1970, he lived in Rockford, Ill. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Digvonni and Rose Digvonni, both of Clayton; two sons, Sam Digvonni of Tucson and Johnny Digvonni of Clayton; a stepdaughter, Juana Sandoval of Tucson; a stepson, Joe Guzman of Guymon, Okla.; their mother, Enquierta Digvonni of Clayton; three brothers, John Wilcox of Arcadia, Fla., and Joe Digvonni and Gite Digvonni, both of Rockford; and eight grandchildren. Oklahoma Bernice Evelyn Mann HOOKER, Okla. - Bernice Evelyn Mann, 96, of Lakeland, Ga., and a former resident of Adams, Okla., died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Adams Baptist Church in Adams with the Rev. John Goss officiating. Burial was in Tyrone Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker, Okla. Mrs. Mann was born in Will, Ill. After her marriage, she lived and farmed in the Tyrone and Adams area. She married Neal Mann in 1930 at Oklahoma City. He died in 1975. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane Fanning of Lakeland, Neola Nyberg of Sacramento, Calif., and Evelyn Kay Mingo of Schroon Lake, N.Y.
