Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Loften was born in Clayton, N.M., and grew up in New Mexico. She moved to Dalhart and married James E. "Jimmy" Loften in 1948. He died in 1990. Mrs. Loften worked for GTE during the 1950s. She was Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Selby of Dalhart; two sisters, Essie Houghton of Las Vegas and Blanche LaChance of Farmington, N.M.; a brother, Joe Nicholson of Lakin, Kan.; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Lee was born and raised in Wheeler County. She graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1946. She moved to Pampa in 1952 from Mobeetie. She was a member of Wells Street Church of Christ. She married Roy Clarence Lee in 1949 at Wheeler. He died in 1996. She also was preceded in death by twin daughters, Glenna and Lynna, in 1953; and by a son, Raymond Lee, in 1955. Survivors include a daughter, Sharron Lee of Pampa; a son, Lavoe W. Gilbert Milligan TULIA - Gilbert Milligan, 80, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, and the Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Milligan was born in Buda. He moved to San Marcos and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1935. He moved to Austin in 1937 and began manager training with JC Penney. He was an assistant manager in Austin. He transferred with the company to Uvalde in 1947, to Taylor in 1949 and to Abilene in 1951. He moved to Tulia in 1953 and became co-owner of the J-Gee Department Store. He retired in 1982. Mr. Milligan was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a past chairman of the administrative board and the finance committee at the church. He also was a past Sunday school superintendent. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a past Master of Tulia Masonic Lodge No. 733 AF&AM. He was a member of the York Rite Masonic bodies, Plainview Knights Templar No. 53 and the Khiva Temple Order of the Shrine. Mr. Milligan was president of the Tulia Chamber of Commerce in 1960 and served as mayor pro-tem for 10 years on the Tulia City Council. He was a charter board member of the Tulia Industrial Foundation and a past member of the Texas Review and Comment System Committee of the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission. Mr. Milligan married Selma Nauert in 1942 at Austin. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Combest of Tulia; a son, Dr. Terry Milligan of Cincinnati; a brother, James Milligan of Lake Jackson; and five grandchildren. Brown CHILDRESS - Bill L. Brown, 73, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim McCurley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born in Acme. He graduated from Childress High School and attended Arizona State College. He was stationed with the Army Air Corps at Bolling Field in Washington, D.C. He was a passenger train foreman for the CB&O Railroad from 1963 until 1967, when he was transferred to Alliance, Neb., as general foreman of the railroad. In 1968, he was promoted to general car foreman with the Fort Worth & Denver Railroad. He retired in 1981 after 33 years of service with the Burlington Lines. Mr. Brown had served on the Childress Regional Medical Center board of directors and the Childress City Council. He was a member of the Burlington Club and the Scottish Rite and Commandery. He was a member and Master Mason with Childress Masonic Lodge No. 695. He married Margaret Jo Taylor in 1946 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Brown of Childress and Mark Brown of Nocona; a daughter, Susan Holland of Hurst; three brothers, Harold Brown and Wayne Brown, both of Amarillo, and Robert Brown of Tulia; and four grandchildren. Dutch D. Culp PLAINVIEW - Dutch D. Culp, 26, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Barn Palace, north of Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Culp was born and raised in Plainview. In 1990, he graduated from Plainview High School, where he was a drummer in the band. He studied electrical engineering at Texas Tech University, later changing his major to computer science. He was a senior at Tech at the time of his death. He was a past member of the Lubbock Trail Riders. He overalled the 16-and-under large wheel "C" class in the High Plains Enduro Circuit and placed first in that class in the Texas Enduro Circuit in 1988. While he attended Tech, Mr. Culp worked for Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview and for Hayden Hagdal in Lubbock. Survivors include his mother, Patsy Culp of Plainview; his father and stepmother, Joel and Sonja Culp of Plainview; a brother, Ted Culp of Big Sky, Mont.; and his grandmother, Lois Culp of Plainview. J.R. Stork DUMAS - J.R. Stork, 72, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Scully of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Stork was born in Nazareth. He was a resident of Gruver for 28 years before moving to Dumas in November. He served with the Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was a seaman first class, serving on the USS New Orleans. He was stationed at the naval training center in Great Lakes, Ill. He received the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. Mr. Stork married Clara Frische in 1947 at Umbarger. He was a farmer and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He served on the school board in Texhoma for seven years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Knights of Columbus in Dumas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregory P. Stork of Sunray and Arnold Eugene Stork of Gruver; five daughters, Janet Harbour of San Angelo, Marie Mahannah of Tulia, Judy Gilbert of Clovis, N.M., and Cindy Johnson and Connie Evans, both of Texhoma; a sister, Francis Gerber of Umbarger; 17 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She had lived in Earth since 1996, moving from Amarillo. She was a Civil Service telephone operator. She married George Lee Anthony in 1954 at Altus, Okla. He died in 1993. Mrs. Anglin was born in Terrell, Okla. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was Baptist. She and her husband, D.M. Anglin, owned and operated Anglin's Conoco Station in Amarillo for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Barnes of Atlanta; a brother, Sterling Scott of Washington, Okla.; two sisters, Dorothy Dale of Abernathy and Juanita Kidwell of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. today at the funeral home. Kathleen White AMHERST - Kathleen Vivian White, 95, of Hereford, formerly of Amherst, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998. Mrs. White was born in Jones County. She moved to Amherst in 1926. She was a homemaker and a member of Amherst Church of Christ. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in 1927. She married Robert Larkin White in 1931 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1987. She also was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Williams, in 1992. Survivors include a son, Glenn Williams of Hereford; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild. Bill Barr LUBBOCK - Bill Barr, 61, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Barr was born in Itasca. He graduated from Plainview High School and served with the Army during the Korean War. He lived in Dallas and Plainview before moving to Lubbock in 1960. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He was a member and elder at Westmont Christian Church. Mr. Barr married Earlene Briscoe in 1956. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Jennie Marshall of Plainview; and a brother, Raymond Barr of Albuquerque, N.M. She was a teacher for the Amarillo Independent School District for 46 years, spending 34 of those years at Wolflin Elementary School. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, Amarillo Chapter No. 787 of the Order of Eastern Star, PEO Chapter FM and Delta Kappa Gamma. There are no known survivors. Willie Mae Lane Crawford Willie Mae Lane Crawford, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in San Jacinto Church of Christ with Brett McCasland and Jerry Klein officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Crawford was born in Santo. She completed Lippert Business College. She married Edward L. King in 1942 at Amarillo. He died in 1952. She was active in teaching at The World Bible School. She then was employed by Hagy Harrington and Marsh until marrying Royal Crawford in 1959 and moving to Tulia. They returned to Amarillo in 1982. Mr. Crawford died in 1985. Mrs. Crawford was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. Survivors include three sisters, Jo Howard of Colorado Springs, Colo., Wanda Lane of Hurst and Jeanne Brown of Dumas; a stepson, W.J. Crawford of Tulia; and three stepgrandsons. Harlan Resch officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Patton was born in Routh, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for most of his life. He retired from Culligan. He was a private pilot and a veteran of the Air Force. He was a member of the Amarillo Executive Association and the Barbershoppers "Pioneers" and a charter member of the Lake Meredith Club. He was Baptist. He married Melba Stewart in 1985 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Patton. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Paula Patton of Houston; a son, Ronnie Patton of Charleston, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Melody Lee and Carol Klause, both of Amarillo; his mother, Dovie Ferguson of Ada, Okla.; a sister, Donna Welch of Atoka, Okla.; and several grandchildren. They were founding members of the Texas Panhandle Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America. Mr. Brown preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown was a retired secretary and a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Fred Brown of Amarillo; a daughter, Wanda G. Smiley of Amarillo; a brother, Delbert Forsyth of Amarillo; two sisters, Ruth Boston and Sarah Roberson, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. New Mexico George L. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Praul was born in Alton, Ill., and had lived in Clovis since 1945. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had worked at the Clovis News Journal for 43 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was married to Ann Elizabeth for 42 years before she died in 1986. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Owen in 1988. Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen Praul of Moline, Ill.; a daughter, Nancy Gregory of Las Cruces; a sister, Mildred Howard of Alamogordo; a brother, John Praul of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren. Velma Irene Rhoton CLAYTON, N.M. - Velma Irene Rhoton, 93, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clayton Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rhoton was born in Edgewood, Texas, and moved to Clayton with her family in 1908. She married Howard Thurman Rhoton in 1931 at Clayton. They lived and farmed in the Union County area for more than 60 years. Mr. Rhoton died Tuesday, Feb. 10. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Seward of Chico and Glenna Ruth Wright of Raton; a son, Rex Curtis Rhoton of Steele, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Marie Ward GUYMON, Okla. - Marie Ward, 81, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Martin of First Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Ward was born in Pawhuska. She attended school in Pawhuska before moving to Wynona and graduating from Wynona High School. She married Roy Charles Ward in 1938 at Bald Hill. Mrs. Ward ministered in the Assembly of God. She lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and California, where she held meetings and pastored churches. She moved to Pawhuska, where she worked for Osage County. She later moved to Stillwater and worked for 15 years as office manager of the audio-visual department of Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Ward was a member of the Assembly of God Church and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Donald Ward of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Kay Douglass of Branson, Mo., and Rita Butler of Guymon; four brothers, Wiley Holden of Stillwater, Jack Holden of Alice, Texas, A.C. Holden of Dewey and George Holden of Oklahoma City; a sister, JoAnn Thomas of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren; and a greatgranddaughter. Anna Lee Schrayer BOISE CITY, Okla. - Anna Lee Schrayer, 74, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church with Frank Lynch officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery at Stratford, Texas. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Schrayer was born in Griggs. She graduated from Plainview School, near Griggs. She married Willie Schrayer in 1944 at Nyack, N.Y. They lived in Colorado, where she attended college at Greeley and Alamosa. She taught school for many years in Rocky Ford, Colo. In 1981, they moved to Keyes, where they lived for several years before moving to Boise City. Mrs. Schrayer was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also was active in the Senior Citizens Center. Mr. Schrayer died in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Bill Schrayer of Virginia Dale, Colo., Don Schrayer of Morse, Texas, and Steve Schrayer of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Ruby Viola Gooch STROUD, Okla. - Ruby Viola Gooch, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in Perryton, Texas. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Followers Church, north of Stroud, with Gale Ladd officiating. Burial will be in Stroud Cemetery by Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Gooch was born near Cushing. She had lived in the Stroud-Cushing area all of her life. She taught school at Prairie View, Springdale and Baker. She then taught at the Oak Grove school until retiring. She was a member of Followers Church. She married George F. Gooch in 1934 at Stillwater. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter. Survivors include three sons, Gary Gooch of San Marcos, Texas, Jim Gooch of Forrest City, Ark., and Ronald Gooch of Perryton; two sisters, Nila Haskin of Cushing and Lela Beall of Blue Jacket; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
