Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Roberts was born and raised in Collinsville. He moved to Amarillo in 1944. He was a retired employee of the city of Amarillo. He was Baptist. He married Juanita Inez Cox in 1960 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; and a brother, L.R. Roberts of Amarillo. Jonadel Edwards Wood Jonadel Edwards Wood, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald, pastor, and the Rev. James Edwards, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church in Dalhart, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Wood was born in Midland and had lived in Amarillo for 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wesley Comrades Sunday School Class. She married Robert Glenn Wood in 1933. He died in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jan Stephens of Bailey and Myrna Shelton of Amarillo; two sisters, Sue Vellart and Alma Thomas, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Bruce Edwards and Jack Edwards, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Geraldine B. Arnold Daniel Geraldine B. Arnold Daniel, 66, of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Silverton with Pastor Mike Wright and the Rev. Jess Little, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Daniel was born in San Bernardino, Calif., and had been a resident of Amarillo for 11 years. She was a bookkeeper at Southwest General Contractors before retiring. She married Jerry Daniel in 1994 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Arthur Arnold, in 1983. The body will be available for viewing at First Baptist Church in Silverton Monday from noon until service time. A.L. Henson A.L. "Bus" Henson, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Henson spent his early years in Memphis. He moved to Canyon and completed school there. He then attended West Texas State University. He worked in Amarillo as a chef for Bob Dowell's Restaurant. He then worked as a manager for Meyers Fried Chicken, which eventually became The Drumstick. He later worked for Grace Christian Academy and Trinity Lutheran Christian School. Mr. Henson was a member of Southwest Baptist Church, where he served as secretary-treasurer for many years. He married Nan Neal in 1931 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ken Henson of Amarillo; a grandson; and a great-grandson. He was an electrician and had worked for Duke Electric and Horace Price Electric. He also was an antique dealer. He was a charter member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church and a member of IBEW No. 602. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Coast Guard. Mr. Edwards married Mary E. Brown in 1960 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ike Edwards of Silverdale, Wash.; a daughter, Sandy Balch of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren. She taught school in Clayton, N.M., and substituted in McLean. Mrs. Jackson had been employed as a nurse's aide at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Christian Heritage Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L.E. Jackson, in 1980. She married John Russell Gilchrist in 1950 in New Mexico. Mr. Pippin was born in Greenville, Texas. He had farmed in Curry County for more than 60 years at the time of his death. He was a member of North Side Church of Christ. He married Sara Fuller in 1955 in Tennessee. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sammie Hutchinson of Albuquerque; a son, John Pippin of Clovis; and two sisters, Edna Gilbert of Clovis and Marion Gee of Apache Junction, Ariz. Travis Michael Shugart CLAYTON, N.M. - Travis Michael Shugart, 55, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors Inc. Mr. Shugart was born in Amarillo. They moved to the Farley-Gladstone area from Masterson, Texas. He graduated from Farley High School in 1960. He received his associate's degree from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1963 and joined the Army in 1964. He served more than three years in military Intelligence with tours of duty that included Washington, D.C. He also served with the Southern Command with tours of duty including South America and Central America. Mr. Shugart married Susan Watters in 1972 at Tucumcari. In 1973, they moved to Santa Fe, where Mr. Shugart had been working as a special investigator for the Corporation Commission until recently. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Justin Shugart and Michael Shugart, both of Rio Rancho; his parents, Jesse and Bonnie Shugart of Gladstone; a sister, Teresa Brown of Tucumcari; and a brother, Dennis Shugart of Dalhart, Texas. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Area Ida Mae Moss BORGER - Ida Mae "Dolly" Moss, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Mrs. Moss was born in Maydell and had lived in Borger for 45 years. She was a homemaker and had been one of the first employees of the Frito Co. at Houston. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her husband, Judge Homer L. Moss, died in 1994. Survivors include three sons, Thomas Moss of Amarillo, Terry Moss of Dallas and Stuart Moss of Del Rio; a brother, Dalton Stewart of Houston; a sister, Velma Harris of Houston; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. William Frank Carthel LOCKNEY - William Frank "Cap" Carthel, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in West College and Third Street Church of Christ with Frank Duckworth, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Carthel was born in Lockney and had been a lifelong Lockney resident. He attended school at Prairie Chapel. He married Irene Harrison in 1927 at Lockney. She died in 1958. He married Wanda Woody in 1960 at Lockney. Mr. Carthel was a deputy sheriff for the Floyd County Sheriff's Office for 17 years before retiring in 1975. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 867 and the Lockney Senior Citizens. He also was a member of West College and Third Street Church of Christ. He also was preceded in death by a son, Keith Carthel, on Dec. 18. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bobby Frank Carthel of Lockney and James Royce Carthel of Plainview; three daughters, Billie Rene Howard of Plainview, Peggy Dean Turner of Floydada and Shari Shaw of Lubbock; four brothers, Aaron Carthel of Floydada, W.L. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Dorothy Dietz in 1946 at Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by a son, Dean Reed, in 1953. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church. He married Tootsie Matlock in 1942 at Edmondson. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronnie White of Hereford and Donnie White of Friona; a brother, Laverne White of Friona; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Connie B. Ivey DIMMITT - Connie B. Ivey, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Rhodes, pastor, and Dr. Eugene Perry, pastor of Westport Baptist Church in Cleveland, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Ivey was born in Ocala. She lived in Rocky Ford before moving to the Flagg community in 1934. She later moved to Dimmitt. She married Eugene Ivey in 1932 at Rocky Ford. He died in 1993. Mrs. Ivey graduated from Amherst High School. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1945. She was organist and pianist at the church and taught Sunday school for children and adults. She also was a member of WMU. She had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge for more than 50 years. She was a past member of the Dimmitt Music Club and the Dimmitt Dinner Club. Survivors include four daughters, Raneal Perry of Cleveland, Okla., Wilton Armstrong of Hale Center, Zetha Blackburn of Tulsa, Okla., and Laurel Austin of Greenville; two brothers, Herbert Dunn of Littlefield and John Dunn of Trent; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Lucas was born in Jackson County, Okla. Her family moved to Corsicana when she was young. She moved to Collingsworth County when she was a teenager. She married Roy B. "Shorty" Lucas in 1931 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1992. She also was preceded in death by two sons, David Lucas and Roy Lucas. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she worked as a Sunday school teacher and a vacation Bible school worker. She also served as WMU president for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Williams of Wellington; a brother, Moody Ivy of Whittier, Calif.; and five special grandchildren. Travis J. Buske CHILDRESS - Travis J. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Buske was born in Jones County. He was a farmer and rancher. He owned and operated a John Deere implement company in Wellington from 1951 to 1972. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. He married Selma McAlister in 1972 at Iowa Park. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Buske of Brownfield; two daughters, Veva Davis and Nora Mae Buske, both of Wellington; three brothers, Billy Buske of Spur, Buddy Buske of Kress and Jack Buske of Stanford; four sisters, Ava Corder, Neta Donehoe and Vada Shackford, all of Spur, and Clara Goodwin of Cleveland, Okla.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She married Bartley Dowell in 1943 at Hereford. She worked as a certified dental assistant for more than 25 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Dowell of Dallas and Randy Dowell of Bowling Green, Ky.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Wayne Doak DUMAS - Wayne Doak, 68, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jerry Trammell, pastor, and the Rev. R.P. Mr. Doak was born in Erick, Okla., and had been a Dumas resident since 1936. He retired as street superintendent for the city of Dumas in 1993. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Doak married Geraldine Watson in 1951 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Freddie Wayne Doak of Stinnett and Dennis Floyd Doak of Dumas; a brother, Bobby Doak of Dumas; and two grandsons. The family will be at 1212 Beard. Mr. Hall was born in Portersville, Calif., and had lived in Vega for three years. He worked for drilling companies as a roughneck. Survivors include his mother, Maude "Meg" Johnson of Vega; two daughters, Lori Morton of Globe, Ariz., and Debby Oconor of Valvista, Ga.; a son, Ronnie Lynn Hall of Crestview, Fla.; a sister, Peggy Stapleton of Trinidad, Colo.; and a brother, Dennis E.
