She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Winsett, in 1982. Survivors include three brothers, Robert E. Hopkins, Ray Hopkins and Jerry Hopkins, all of Amarillo, and a sister, Joyce Brewer of Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home. She was a longtime resident of Bakersfield, Calif., where she owned Cliff's Western Wear Store. She moved to Amarillo in 1993. She was preceded in death by husbands Cliff Hickman and A.W. Mr. Worthen was born in Delta County and was raised near Sulphur Springs. He moved to Childress in 1932 and married Lillian Ethel Terrell in 1938 at Hollis, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Childress. Mr. Worthen worked in the trucking industry for Riss & Co., Whitfield Tank Lines and Jack B. Kelley Co. After retiring from trucking, he and his wife owned and operated Ray's Antiques for 19 years. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 731. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Worthen of Austin and Bill Worthen of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Bouyea of Amarillo and Joan Green of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Eugene Worthen of Grand Prairie and Jarrell Worthen of Pasadena; a sister, Evelyn Bean of Cedar Hill; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Robert Michelini Robert "Mike" Michelini, 69, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ronald Sumter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Michelini was born in San Jose, Calif., and married Cloe Dunlap in 1966 at Pascagoula, Miss. He moved to Amarillo in 1968 after retiring from the Navy after 21 years of service. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the China Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1989 after 21 years of service. Mr. Michelini was a member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, where he received Volunteer of the Year award in 1993, the Amvets Post 29 and the Retired Federal Employees Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Smith, in 1988, and a daughter, Linda Pickard, in 1992. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Killion of Amarillo; four daughters, Carla Carney, Jamie Jones and Jackie Stewart, all of Amarillo, and Sandra Parker of Trophy Club; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Weldon Thomas, retired pastor, assisting in a double funeral service with her husband, the Rev. W.L. Porterfield, who died Monday, June 15, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Burleson Cemetery in Burleson by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Mrs. Porterfield was born in Burleson. She graduated from Seymour High School and Weatherford College. She received her registered nurse license from Methodist Hospital in 1936. She married the Rev. Weldon L. Porterfield in 1937 at Snyder. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Trinity Evangelical Methodist Church, where she had served as pianist for many years. Mrs. Porterfield and her husband had pastored in Blackwell, Amarillo, Gruver, Canadian, Post, Anson, Oxford, Miss., and Port Arthur before retirement in 1969. They moved to Slaton in 1973. Survivors include a son, Hody Porterfield of Amarillo; four daughters, Ann Haire of Slaton, Bettye Bates of Amarillo and Welda Miller and Pattie Hill, both of Dallas; two brothers, Gene Gordon and Mariam Garrett, both of Fort Worth; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Area Dennis F. Wilkins TULIA - Dennis F. Wilkins, 89, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998. Private family memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery with Ronald Huckeby, a lay minister from Tulia, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Wilkins was born in Merkel. He was a former resident of Tulia and Canyon. He graduated from Tulia High School as valedictorian of the 1928 class. He attended Texas A&M University. He owned a construction business in Canyon before moving to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1956. He was a building inspector at Colorado State University before retiring in 1974. After retirement, he supervised construction of the Forestry School Camp at Pengree Park, Colo., and the Larimer County Jail at Fort Collins. He married Mildred W. Payne in 1939. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jhyree Burkepile of Denver and Guydell Wilkins of Houston; two sisters, Pat Ely and Frances Johnson, both of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Mr. Collis was born in Gunter. He moved to Plainview and worked for Buchannan Dairy and later at Cloverlake Dairy. He began working for Southwestern Public Service Co. in 1959 and worked there until retiring. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He married Evodia in 1951 at Plainview. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983. She was also active in the Pampa Women's Bowling Association. Mr. Williams was born in Emerson, Ark., and married Annie Bell. She died in 1954. He married Rosie in 1956. She died in 1986. He was a World War I veteran. Mr. Williams moved to Cottle County in 1929 and farmed in the Chalk Community until he retired. He was a member of Church of Christ. Survivors include a stepson. Maurice Kinnie SUDAN - Maurice Kinnie, 82, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Sudan. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery. Mr. Kinnie was born in Elk City, Okla., and married Mildred Woolly in 1938 at Lula, Okla. He had been a resident of Sudan since 1957, moving from Santa Rosa, N.M. He retired in 1981 from Southwestern Public Service Co. after 27 years of service. He also served in the Navy during World War II. He was Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997. Tim Schwertner, pastor of St. Alice Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Braga was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and married George Braga in 1944 at Denver. She moved to Plainview in 1926 and graduated in 1941 from Plainview High School. She trained as a medical tech under Dr. E.O. Nichols Jr. Mrs. Braga was active in Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and served in the Parent Teacher Association and was a junior high band parent. She was secretary of St. Ann's Alter Society and Business and Professional Women Club. She had worked at Plainview Hospital, Medical Center Clinic and had worked for Dr. Robert Mitchell before retiring six years ago. She was past secretary of Plains Art Association. She taught fifthgrade grade religion classes for five years and was a past member of the Order of Martha, AMT and the International Society for Clinical Laboratory Technology. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kit Braga of Edmond, Okla.; three daughters, Sharon Dodson of Corpus Christi, Dana Mishoe of Mustang, Okla., and Frances Tidmore of Austin; a brother, Fred Reams of Denver; two sisters, Dorothy Reams of Plainview and Lois Shelton of Shawnee, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
