Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Tamplen, pastor of Kingswood United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangement are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Meinert was born in Bonham. She lived in Amarillo and Tell for most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Palisades Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Kenneth D. Meinert of Amarillo; and her mother, Edith G. Hughes of Amarillo. Mary Ruth Southerland Mary Ruth Southerland, 71, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Private services will be at a later date. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Southerland was born in Antlers, Okla., and moved to Amarillo 35 years ago. She was employed by Ansley Cleaners and Colberts and Dillards department stores as a seamstress. She married Andrew Southerland in 1942 at Memphis. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Shirley Nussabaum of Old Monroe, Mo., and Ruby Lummus and Peggy Mathes, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Joyce Allen of Canyon, Lois Ewing of Amarillo, Maurine Rasco of Childress and Patsy Garrett of Carroll; two brothers, Vaudie Holbert of Floydada and Martin Holbert of Houston; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Fred Lawrence Hobbs Fred Lawrence Hobbs, 79, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Cremation is with Memory Gardens. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mr. Hobbs was born in Eccles, W.Va. He was a coal miner who traveled extensively throughout his career. Survivors include two grandsons, Michael Hobbs and Ronald Hobbs, both of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Andrea Morris of Amarillo; and three great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. Connor Aaron Scott Connor Aaron Scott, 4, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Scott Greer and the Rev. Richard Holloway officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Connor was born and raised in Amarillo. He attended Southlawn Elementary School. Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Tonya Scott; a brother, Clay Scott of Amarillo; his grandparents, Jean Scott of Pampa, Barbara Maddox of Amarillo and Gordon and Audrey Maddox of Memphis; and his great-grandparents, Bill and Faye Maddox of Memphis. Hearn, 79, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Logan of Bell Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mr. Hearn had been an Amarillo resident since 1942. He was a veteran of the Army and a retired fireman. He was a charter member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. He and his wife, Ida, were married in 1938. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda McKenzie of Irving; and a son, Richard Dale Hearn of Amarillo. Canyon Carrie Heslee Hollabaugh Carrie Heslee Hollabaugh, 81, of Canyon, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. Charles Price, pastor, and Andy Mangum, associate of First Christian Church in DeSoto, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Hollabaugh was born in Hico and had been a Randall County resident for 62 years. She was a seamstress and cake decorator. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married C.F. Hollabaugh in 1935 at Hico. He died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Carl Hollabaugh of Canyon; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Holley Funeral Home Chapel, 11th St. and Hereford Highway, Canyon. New Mexico Dr. Neland Gray CLAYTON, N.M. - Dr. Neland Gray, 90, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Clayton Church of Christ with Loren Gieger, his son-in-law, and Doug Austin, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Dr. Gray was born in Van Alstyne, Texas, and moved to Clayton in 1935. He was a partner with Dr. Charles Stalin. After Dr. Stalin moved out of the area, Dr. Gray was the only optometrist in Union County. He was one of the original members of Clayton Church of Christ. He married Lola Irene Wray in 1934 at El Paso. She died in 1974. Survivors include a daughter, Iola Ann Gieger of Edmond, Okla.; three grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a greatgreat grandson. Perry Buckner PORTALES, N.M. - Perry Buckner, 86, of Arch, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Portales Cemetery with J.R. Dick Ross officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mr. Buckner was born and raised in Arch. He moved to Pecos, Texas, in 1936 where he worked as a mechanic at the Chevrolet dealership and was a volunteer fireman. He moved to Clovis in 1941 where he was employed by the Pontiac dealership. He retired in 1978 and returned to Arch. He married Lucille Rambo in 1939 at Wink, Texas. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Blake of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Myrtle Morgan MIDLAND - Myrtle "Marie" Morgan, 84, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Abilene. Mrs. Morgan was born in Mertens. She moved to Midland in 1990 from Abilene and had lived in Lamesa for many years. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierson Morgan, and a daughter, Vi Cox. Survivors include two sons, Beldon "Bud" Cleere and Fred Cleere, both of Midland; two daughters, Fran Vest of Midland and Gloria Treadwell of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Area Dorothy McCray Boyett CLARENDON - Dorothy McCray Boyett, 88, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Seale, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon. Mrs. Boyett was born in Walters, Okla. She had been a resident of Quail before moving to Clarendon in 1958. She retired in 1985 after 25 years as a practical nurse at Hall County Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Albert William Boyett in 1926 at Oklahoma City. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a son, Albert Mack Boyett, in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Dottie Shanks of Clarendon and Atha Mae Long of Dumas; two sisters, Wanda Lee Aud of Lenzburg, Ill., and Ruby Pritchard of Hooker, Okla.; a brother, Warren T. McCray of Purcell, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Anna Belle Stracener Corcoran MOBEETIE - Anna Belle Stracener Corcoran, 80, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with the Rev. Lewis Ellis of Lefors and the Rev. Johnny Crawford of Mobeetie officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Corcoran was born in Goree. In 1931, her family moved to Mobeetie from Pampa. She retired in 1993 after 27 years of cafeteria work for the Mobeetie schools. She was a member of Mobeetie First Baptist Church since 1937 and of the T.E.L. Sunday School class. She married Ariza Corcoran in 1936 in Mobeetie. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ray Corcoran of Weimar; a daughter, Arica Lancaster of Amarillo; three brothers, Cecil Stracener of Booneville, Ark., Wade Stracener of Clinton, Iowa, and Roy Stracener of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; a sister, Billie Jo Trimmer of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Charles Ray Jones WHEELER - Charles Ray Jones, 54, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Wheeler with the Rev. Vic Porter, pastor of Grace Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Jones was born and raised in Wheeler County. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam war and a member of the National Guard. He lived in Amarillo from 1968 until 1978 and moved to Wheeler in 1989 from Kelton. Mr. Jones was employed by Phillips Petroleum for 17 years. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Wheeler and a former member of the Lions Club in Kelton. He married Paula Denham in 1967 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Charlene Jones, Sue Ann Jones, Misty Jones and Andrea Jones, all of Wheeler; a son, John Charles Jones of Wheeler; five brothers, Billy Jones, Robert Jones and Chester Jones, all of Wheeler, Paul Jones of Bentonville, Ark., and Jimmy Jones of Irving; a sister, Christine Hooser of Irving; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Wheeler Ambulance Service or a favorite charity.
