Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lincoln Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dalhart by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Nelson was born and raised in Minot, N.D. He married Linda Brown in 1978 at Denver and they moved to Dalhart. In 1981, they moved to Amarillo and returned to Dalhart in 1992. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher James Nelson. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jacob Novak, Michael Nelson and Kevin Nelson, all of Dalhart; his mother and stepfather, Martha and Vern Eide of Minot; two brothers, Vincent Belgarde of Grand Forks, N.D., and Carl Nelson of Salt Lake City, Utah; four sisters, Diane Thompson of Greenville, Ohio, Carol Martin and Pam Smith, both of Austin and Beverly Glenn of Brigham City, Utah. Russell Jay Douglas PAMPA - Russell Jay Douglas, 15, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Mel Matthews, pastor of Seventh-day Adventist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa. Russell was born in Pampa, where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Pampa Middle School and was a member of the Pampa Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his mother, Susan Henderson of Pampa; his father and stepmother, Russell and Robin Douglas of Pampa; a sister, Jordan Nicole Douglas of Pampa; two brothers, John Reese Douglas and Lane Riley Douglas, both of Pampa; grandparents, Terry Henderson of Watsonville, Calif., Helen Douglas of Pampa and Marty Smith of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and great-grandparents, Velma Matthews of Woodward, Okla., and Frank Henderson of Corpus Christi. The family requests memorials be to the Pampa Sheltered Workshop. Donald D. Tomaszewska PAMPA - Donald D. Tomaszewska, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John Valdez, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Tomaszewska was born in Detroit, Mich., and had lived in Pampa for 15 to 20 years. He had worked in farming, ranching and painting and was a general handyman. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He married Sylvia Rodriguez in 1958. Mary O'Day DUMAS - Mary O'Day, 83, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. O'Day was born in Bardstown, Ky., and had lived in Dumas for 61 years. She had worked in restaurants as a waitress and a cook. She was a member of First Christian Church. She married Francis O'Day in 1943 at Dumas. He died in 1981. She also was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Cecil Coyle, in 1991. Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Marie West and Doris Aline James, both of Amarillo, and Francis Dianne Daniels of Canadian; a sister, Elizabeth Sidebottom of Hendersonville, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will be at 123 N. Meredith. Doyle Eubanks MULESHOE - Doyle Eubanks, 60, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Gerald Pepper officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Eubanks was born in Clovis, N.M. He moved to Mount Pleasant from Muleshoe in 1978. In Mount Pleasant, he owned Eubanks Starter and Alternator Exchange and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He married Barbara Ann Gray. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Dee Eubanks of Friendswood; a daughter, Chana Doniece Eubanks Shelton of Denton; his mother, Mrs. Theron Eubanks of Muleshoe; a brother, Max LaDell Eubanks of Roxton; and two grandchildren. Mary Garretson HALE CENTER - Mary Garretson, 76, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Ken Rowland, pastor, and Wesley Putnam of Putnam Ministries of Fort Worth, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mrs. Garretson was born in Independence, Mo. After her marriage, she moved to Hale Center from Amarillo in 1957. She and her husband owned and operated Hale Center Butane until 1969 when it became Garretson Farm Supply. She was the bookkeeper. Mrs. Garretson was a legal secretary for Diamond Shamrock when she lived in Amarillo. She also did volunteer work typing letters for Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, WIFE, Beta Sigma Phi business sorority of Amarillo and was a member and officer of Plainview Bowling League. She married Harry L. Garretson in 1950 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jay Garretson of Lubbock; a daughter, Claudia West of Hale Center; and five grandchildren. Sarah Jenkins SUNRAY - Sarah Jenkins, 61, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray with the Rev. Roger Green, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Sunray, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Webber Falls, Okla., and had been a resident of Sunray for 35 years. She was a homemaker and member of Bible Baptist Church. She married John Henry Jenkins in 1956 at Clayton, N.M. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Johnella Jenkins, in 1972. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Della Jenkins of Tulsa and Laura Jenkins of Sunray; two sisters, Faye Brogdon of Fort Gibson, Okla., and Lola Bowers of Braggs, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Bourque, 55, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum Chapel with Monsignor Francis Smyer of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Mrs. Bourque was born in Van Alstyne and moved to Amarillo in 1960 from Louisiana. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a housewife. She married Ivan Bourque in 1960 at Dallas. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ricky James Bourque of Amarillo; two daughters, Jodie Patrick and Dore Traylor, both of Panhandle; two brothers, James Lee Hansard and Jimmy Paul Hansard, both of Amarillo; a sister, Linda May Moore of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Maxine McCormick Lazenby Maxine McCormick "Bobby" Lazenby, 92, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Williams of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mrs. Lazenby was born in Lincoln, Neb., but helped pioneer the Amarillo area with her family in 1908. She grew up on the McCormick Farm, which McCormick Road was named after, and graduated from West Texas Teachers Normal School. She taught in a one room school in Wildorado and was recently recognized as their oldest living teacher. Mrs. Lazenby graduated from Amarillo Business College. She spent several years on the West Coast before returning to Amarillo in 1972. She was a member of Top of Texas Bridge Club, Senior Citizens of Amarillo and Covenant Presbyterian Church. In 1955, she was awarded Realtor of the Year in Oregon. She married David Lazenby in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Weeks; two grandchildren; three greatgrandsons; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in James Church of God with Donnie Callaway, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon, Okla., by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Webb was born and raised in the Eva community. He farmed and ranched until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of James Church of God. He married Bessie Shores in 1936 at Hugoton, Kan. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Webb. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Yvonne Burton of Elkhart, Kan.; two sons, Benton Webb of the home and Jerry Webb of the Eva community; a brother, C.F. "Red" Webb of Texhoma; a sister, Louise Webb Fairchild of Boise City; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Hill, 93, died Tuesday Aug. 18, 1998. Private graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. James M. Watson, minister of pastoral care of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by HarveyDouglas Funeral Home of Ardmore. Mrs. Hill was born in Tahlequah, Indian Territory. She moved to Ardmore from Oklahoma City in 1941. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married D.W. Hill in 1926 at Tahlequah. He preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Arch B. Hill of Ada and Gene Hill of Ardmore; three daughters, Peggy Clayton King of Georgetown, Texas, Loretta Bahner Johnson of Amarillo and Hilda Hodges of Ardmore; 11 grandchildren; and 19 greatgrandchildren. New Mexico Eva Shiplet SAN JON, N.M. - Eva Shiplet, 88, a former longtime resident of San Jon, died Sunday, Aug. 16, at Shreveport, La. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in San Jon Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Burke, youth minister at Broadmoor Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in the San Jon Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mrs. Shiplet was born in San Jon and had been a lifetime resident of San Jon until moving to Bossier City, La., in 1981. She later moved to Shreveport. She was a member of Assembly of God Church at San Jon and in Shreveport, was a member of the Broadmoor Assembly of God. She married Dee Shiplet in 1936 at San Jon. He died in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Alta Gay Johnson of Shreveport; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home until an hour before services on Saturday.
