Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Collis, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Lowrance was born in Munday and moved to White Deer in 1968. He retired from Lee Way Motor Freight and farmed for Mark Urbanczyk. He was a member of First Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He married June Winborne in 1964 at Pampa. Mr. Lowrance was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Lowrance. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Patti K. Duezabou of Deer Lodge, Mont., Sandra K. Byram of Amarillo and Rahna T. Abernathy of Pampa; two sons, Richard C. Tackett of White Deer and Scott Lowrance of Pampa; three sisters, Jeanne Redder of Munday, Francis Rogers of Fritch and Naomi Malone of Bonham; three brothers, Homer Lowrance of Munday, Truman Lowrance of Pampa and Troy Lowrance of Terrell; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79106. Carroll A. Redman DALHART - Carroll A. Redman, 81, died Monday, March 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with Ray M. Guy, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Redman was born in Thermopolis, Wyo., and moved to Dalhart in 1919. He attended schools in Dalhart. He entered the service in 1941 and spent two years as a mechanic and crew chief on B-17s and B-24s. He trained as a cadet and graduated as a pilot. For eight months, he was a flight instructor and spent one year in the European Theater flying C-47s. He returned to the United States in 1945 and joined the Air Corps Reserves. He retired in 1969 as a major. Mr. Redman helped build the First Christian Church at 6th and Denver in 1949. He married Dorothy "Jean" McClendon in 1945 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bill Redman of Dalhart; a sister, Dorothy McClendon of Dalhart; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. The family will be at 915 Tennessee. John Mark Simpson SHAMROCK - John Mark Simpson, 41, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Driver, pastor of Samnorwood Baptist Church at Samnorwood, and the Rev. Glenn Switzer, interim pastor of Eleventh Street Baptist Church at Shamrock, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Simpson was born in Memphis. He had lived all of his life in the Samnorwood community and in Shamrock. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1974. He married Tracie Kilgore in 1988 at Clovis, N.M. Mr. Simpson was a member of Samnorwood Baptist Church and a volunteer for the Shamrock chapter of Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Andy Simpson and Dustin Simpson, both of Weatherford, Okla., and Nick Simpson of Shamrock; his mother, Lois Simpson of Shamrock; his birth mother, Betty Ivy of Memphis; three brothers, Eddie Carmichael of Clayton, N.M., Donald Ivy of Aransas Pass and Will Hoggard of Roswell, N.M.; and three sisters, Debra Massingale of San Angelo, Jan Cabler of Lockney and Tammy Houes of San Antonio. "Buzz" Weatherred Jr., 78, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Kress Church of Christ with Jack McCall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Weatherred was born in Copeville and grew up in Quanah. He served with the Army during World War II. After being discharged in 1945, he moved to Kress. He served as justice of the peace for several years and later was county commissioner for 12 years in Swisher County. He was a member of the Kress Church of Christ and the Tulia Masonic Lodge. Mr. Weatherred married Amy Johnson in 1953 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Leigh Simms of Kodiak, Alaska, and Stacy Davis of Ralls; two sons, Stan Weatherred of Krum and Jon Weatherred of Kress; two brothers, Harrell Weatherred of Plainview and Allan Weatherred of Arlington; and five grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Lubbock Children's Home. Ola Ann Moore HALE CENTER - Ola Ann Moore, 88, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park at Plainview by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Moore was born in Eastland County. She worked at the school cafeteria in Hale Center for 11 years. She was a member of the Hale Center Church of Christ. She married Doyle Douglas Moore in 1930 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1962. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Hamilton, in 1993. Survivors include a son, Doyle Douglas Moore Jr. of McAlester, Okla.; three daughters, Allene Milvy of Troup, June Dowdy of Spearman and Gail Findley of Lubbock; a brother, Dee Harper of Pasadena; two sisters, Ona Terrell of Amarillo and Thelma Clark of Hale Center; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Helen Margaret Shollenbarger Helen Margaret Goats Shollenbarger, 82, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Wayne Burger of Columbine Church of Christ in Denver officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Shollenbarger was born in Amarillo and attended school in northeast New Mexico. She graduated from Mosquero High School at Mosquero, N.M., and attended West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon. She taught at Rosebud, N.M., before marrying J.K. Shollenbarger in 1937. They owned and operated Shollenbarger Lumber & Hardware in Logan, N.M., and Tucumcari, N.M. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1954. Mrs. Shollenbarger was a member of the Arredondo chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kenneth E. Shollenbarger and Joe H. Shollenbarger, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Louise G. Axe of Canyon and Elizabeth G. Tompkins of Amistad, N.M.; a brother, Edward E. Goats of Amistad; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He moved to Amarillo more than 45 years ago from California. He was a truck driver for many years and retired as an ironworker after 25 years of service. He married Carolina Bull in 1948. Survivors include three daughters, Julie "Melinda" Murphy of Sulphur, Okla., Cathy Murphy of Amarillo and Virginia "Jenny" Burge of Vidor; four sons, Gerald Doran of Lake Tanglewood, Roy Doran and Johnny Doran, both of Amarillo, and Densel Doran of Waco; a sister, Bertha Doran of Levelland; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1003 Nance. Melvin P. Wilburn Melvin P. Wilburn, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 16, 1998. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Restland Wildwood Chapel in Dallas. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Arrangements are by WarfordWalker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes. Mr. Wilburn was born in Sulphur Springs. He graduated from high school and joined the Navy, serving during World War II. After completing his stint in the military, he worked in maintenance for Otis Engineering until retiring. Mr. Wilburn had been an Amarillo resident for several years. Survivors include a stepson, Bobby Ray Kelly of Dallas; a daughter, Cora Jean Scott of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Mildred Gadlin of Dallas; a brother, N.C. Wilborn of Dallas; two sisters, Sadie Wilburn and Mary Etta Greer, both of Dallas; and six grandchildren. James Riley Griffith Sr. James Riley Griffith Sr., 61, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Mr. Griffith was born in Bowie and had been a resident of Amarillo for 17 years. He served with the Air Force for 16 years and was a Korean War veteran. He married Myreta Jean Smith in 1957 at Lovington, N.M. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Myreta Lunell Reneau, Suzette Hopper and Suzanne Norton Francis, all of Amarillo, and Patsy Gresham of Tucumcari, N.M.; two sons, James Riley Griffith Jr. of Amarillo and Rodney Wayne Boggs of Austin; a sister, Patsy Laverne Lambert of Jacksonville, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Willie Ruth Hathaway VERNON - Willie Ruth Hathaway, 87, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church at Mobeetie with the Rev. Ralph Hovey officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery at Mobeetie by Sullivan Funeral Home. Mrs. Hathaway was born in Dawson. She farmed and operated a cafe in Mobeetie. She was a desk clerk and switchboard operator at the Coronado Inn in Pampa before retiring. She lived in Mobeetie for 45 years before moving to Pampa. She moved to Vernon in 1993. Mrs. Hathaway was a member of Central Church of Christ in Pampa and a charter member of Mountain View Quilting Club at Mobeetie. She married Tom Hathaway in 1927 at Wheeler. He died in 1962. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Vic Hathaway and Britt Hathaway. Survivors include three sons, Joe Hathaway of Pampa, Dan Hathaway of Levelland and Glen Hathaway of El Reno, Okla.; a daughter, Faye Von Tunglen of Vernon; two brothers, Macca Lawrence of Mesquite and James Lawrence of Lady Lake, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Clark of Orange; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren. Sam Houston Roden Jr. NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Sam Houston Roden Jr., 53, died Sunday, March 15, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Roden was a sales representative for a medical supply company. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; a son, Jeremy Houston Roden of North Richland Hills; two daughters, Vonda Kay Weddle of Electra and Vicki Heather Roden of North Richland Hills; his mother, Louise Brunson of Plano; three brothers, Eugene Roden, Jim Roden and Don Roden; and two grandchildren. Farris Patton MORTON - Farris "Brother" Patton, 67, died Monday, March 16, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jackson, pastor, the Rev. Johnny Evans, pastor of Church of God in Christ, and the Rev. Aaron Garrett, pastor of Morton Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Patton was born in Center. He moved to Morton from Center in 1959. He was employed by the Texas Highway Department in Bailey County. He married Dorothy Moore in 1953 at Center. She died in 1996. He also was preceded in death by a son, Bobby, in 1990. Survivors include four sons, Elton Patton, Troy Patton and Roy Glen Patton, all of Dallas, and Ronnie Patton of Hondo; six daughters, Dorothy Whitfield of Morton, and Edna Patton, Doretha Shelton, Sharon Shelton, Joy Lynn Patton and Vickie Patton, all of Dallas; three sisters, Geraldine Watts of Houston, and Earlene Patton and Mavis Patton, both of Center; a brother, R.A. Stella Marie Marquez EVERSON, Wash. - Stella Marie Marquez, 58, of Everson, a former Hereford, Texas, resident, died Monday, March 16, 1998. Burial will be in Nooksack Cemetery. Mrs. Marquez was born in Rawlins, Wyo. She moved with her family to Las Vegas, N.M., where she was raised and attended school. She married Eusebio "Sam" Marquez in 1957 at Clovis, N.M. They then moved to the Hereford area, where they lived until moving to Everson in 1990. Mrs. Marquez was a homemaker and a member of Spanish Assembly of God Church of Lynden. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Leo Marquez of Everson and Samuel Marquez of Lynden; four daughters, Mona Romero of Hereford, Lisa Galan of Amarillo, Patti Soto of Nooksack and Rosemary Marquez of the home; three sisters, Betty Perea of Albuquerque, N.M., Josie Chavez of Edgewood, N.M., and Angie Crespin of Moriarty, N.M.; and 14 grandchildren. Oklahoma Clyde Henry Campbell BEAVER, Okla. - Clyde Henry Campbell, 81, died Sunday, March 15, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Beaver United Methodist Church with Charles Watson officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service. Mr. Campbell was born in Alva. He married Loubelle Rock in 1937 at Alva. He was a police officer and a photographer before retiring. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church for more than 35 years. Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Nola Lea Wilkinson of Norman. Canyon Marie Siefke Donnell Marie Siefke Donnell, 76, of Canyon, died Sunday, March 15, 1998. Services will be private. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave., in Amarillo. Ms. Donnell graduated from the Lake Shore Academy and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She was an executive secretary for Sperry-Gyroscope during World War II. Survivors include two sons, Alton P. Donnell Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M., and L. Alexander Donnell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Donnell of East Lansing, Mich., and Anne Donnell Kithgart of Canyon; and seven grandchildren. Baxter, 96, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Baxter was born in Bell County, Texas. She and her husband, Lonnie, had lived in Clovis for 50 years. They ranched in Melrose until his death in 1990. Mrs. Baxter was a charter member of the Cow Belles and a member of 21st Street Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Ralph Baxter of Clovis; a daughter, Sally Galloway of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Marie G. Smith PORTALES, N.M. - Marie G. Smith, 83, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hull officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mrs. Smith was born in Elida. She had been a resident of Portales since 1948, moving from Elida. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She married Doyell Smith in 1943 at Portales. He died in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Norma Saxton of Lovington; a brother, Fred Gonzales of El Paso, Texas; four sisters, Lupe Contreras and Sue Crume, both of Clovis, Laura Gardner of Wakefield, Kan., and Connie Gonzalez of Elida; and two grandchildren.
