Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Dea, minister of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brandon was born in the Groesbeck community of Hardeman County. He lived in Quanah most of his life and graduated from Quanah High School. He was a retired pilot and payroll clerk for R.M. Wells Construction. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was a Methodist. Mr. Brandon married Floy Sheehan in 1940 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Brandon of Quanah; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Hardeman County Memorial Hospital. Leora Bertha Rose PAMPA - Leora Bertha Rose, 93, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Jim Prock, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rose was born in Cisco and moved to Pampa in 1927. She worked for First National Bank for 50 years before retiring in 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Tom Rose Sr. in 1946 at Pampa. He died in 1947. Survivors include three sisters, Bea Lester, Loree Barker and Ann Lamb, all of Lubbock. The family requests memorials be to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity. Mary Ruiz TULIA - Mary Ruiz, 73, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. John Salazar-Jimenez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Ruiz was born and raised in Cuero. She married Mercie Ruiz in 1955 at Gonzales. They moved to Tulia in 1960 from Cuero. Mr. Ruiz died in 1992. Mrs. Ruiz was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Holy Spirit and the Cursillistas. She also was a member and past president of the Guadalupanas. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Pena of Dumas and Josephine Garibay of Cuero; six sons, Lawrence Anzaldua of Houston, Arturo Anzaldua of Fort Worth, Alfred Anzaldua of Cuero, Jack Anzaldua of Luling, Ray Ruiz of Tulia and Benjamin Ruiz of Amarillo; two sisters, Lily Barrera and Pauline De La Santos, both of Cuero; three brothers, Raymond Garcia and Domingo Garcia, both of Cuero, and Felix Garcia of Plainview; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Penn, 92, of Hulbert, Okla., a former resident of Perryton and Amarillo, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Peoples Chapel Church with the Rev. Bill Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Penn was born in Sulphur Springs. She moved from Perryton to Amarillo in 1980. She moved from Amarillo to Tahlequah, Okla. She was a homemaker and an active member of Peoples Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Penn, in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Anderson of Fort Cobb, Okla., and Linda Jarrell of Hulbert; four sons, Homer Jones of Brownsville, Leonard Jones of Sacramento, Calif., Everett Jones of El Paso and Earlon Jones of Amarillo; a stepson, Bobby Penn of Odessa; three stepdaughters, Rose Guander of Bonham, Joan Kell of Spearman and Rheta Brown of Hardesty, Okla.; two sisters; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mary Fain PAMPA - Mary Fain, 80, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Mrs. Fain was born in Valley Mills. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Leon Fain in 1938 at Ingleside. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda Davis of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Neufeld, 90, died Monday, May 18, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Calvin Newton, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko, Okla. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Neufeld was born in Beaver County, Okla. He had been a Borger resident since 1945. He retired in 1973 from Phillips Petroleum Co. as a draftsman and personnel coordinator. He formerly worked and managed M.E. Moses in Stanford. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, where he taught Sunday school and had held many offices throughout the years. Mr. Neufeld married Nadine Kerns in 1953 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mary Ruth Carter and Marla Tidenberg, both of Amarillo, and Sonja Gregory and Deborah Blankenship, both of Borger; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Willard Cline Swallow STINNETT - Willard Cline Swallow, 83, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Brown Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor of Riverview Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Swallow was born in Monroe County, Ohio, and had been a Hutchinson County resident for 50 years. He retired as a stillman with Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 671. He also was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cox Swallow, in 1994; and by a son, Samuel James Swallow, in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Viles of Amarillo; two sisters, Lorrine of Okmulgee, Okla., and Clephane Stidham of Lake Charles, La.; and a grandson. Ramon L. Estrada HEREFORD - Ramon L. Estrada, 90, died Sunday, May 17, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Domingo Castillo and Jessie Guerrero, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Mr. Estrada was born in Garita, N.M. He had lived in Hereford since 1945. He worked as a farm laborer. He was a member of the San Jose Men's Association and the New Mexico Cattle Association. He attended the Hereford Senior Citizens Center. He married Maria Marez in 1930. She died in 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jose T. Quintana of Hereford and Marsha E. Tijerina of Amarillo; three sons, Felix G. Estrada and Patricia Estrada, both of Hereford, and Eloy A. Estrada of Amarillo; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Hereford Senior Citizens Center. K.C. O'Kelly DUMAS - K.C. O'Kelly, 72, died Monday, May 18, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. O'Kelly was born in McAlester, Okla. He was a former Longview resident and had been a Dumas resident since 1952. He retired in 1988 as a driver and manager for Dumas Butane after 25 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. O'Kelly was preceded in death by his first wife, Lottie Mae O'Kelly, in 1979. He married Alberta LaVaun Miller in 1993 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob O'Kelly of Farmers Branch; three stepdaughters, LeAnn Brown, SuZann Steen and MariAnn Sappington, all of Dumas; three grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren. The family will be at 220 Oak. They request memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 225 W. 1st, Dumas, Texas 79029. Amarillo Jerry Michie Jerry Michie, 58, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Sherman Eastland, chaplain at Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Michie was born in Childress. He moved to Amarillo in 1975. He worked as a warehouseman in Amarillo until retiring in 1996. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1366. He married Fidela Escalante in 1969 at Pharr. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbie Michie of the home; a son, Johnny Michie of Amarillo; his mother, Dorothey Sanders of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Irving Stanton Bray Sr. Irving Stanton Bray Sr., 81, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 15, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Northridge Church of Christ with Glen Walton officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bray was born in Lynn, Mass. He had lived in Amarillo since 1952. He worked as a maintenance engineer and had worked for Sears for 25 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include a son, Irving Stanton Bray Jr. of Amarillo; two daughters, Robin Smith and Kathy L. Lax, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Helen Nestor of Ipswich, Mass., Genevive Ratliff of Orange City, Fla., Alma Troneck of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Marian Raeburn of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Milton E. Bray Jr. of Pinellas Park and Brewster Bray of Apopka, Fla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. Ethel Warmsley Ethel Warmsley, 82, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at San Antonio. Wake will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater Love Temple with the Rev. Jackie Riles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Warmsley was born in Winnsboro. She was a member of Greater Love Temple. She had worked at Northwest Texas Hospital for several years. Survivors include two sons, Henry Warmsley of Pittsburg and Frank Warmsley of Amarillo; a daughter, Helen Hardeman of San Antonio; one sister; four grandchildren; and seven grandchildren. Opal Cross Opal Cross, 91, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, May 15, 1998, in Wichita, Kan. Private committal was Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Ms. Cross graduated from West Texas State College. She was a school teacher. There are no survivors. Elsewhere Charles E. Crowell DALLAS - Charles E. Crowell, 78, died Sunday, May 3, 1998. Private graveside services were May 11 at Sparkman-Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Crowell graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1941. He married Jean Howze in 1941. He served in the Army infantry during World War II. He served most of the time with the 96th Division in the battle for Okinawa, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He later worked with the American Legion Post in Hereford and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church in Dallas. Mr. Crowell worked many years in the field of right-of-way acquisition for Coates Field Service of Oklahoma City and also for several government agencies. He was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Crowell. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Craig Crowell and Cliff Crowell, both of Van Buren, Ark.; three sisters, Ola Faye Hendrickson of Canyon, Vergie Statt of Tucumcari, N.M., and Ina Cooke of Beaumont; and several grandchildren. Oklahoma Charles Joseph Breeden OKLAHOMA CITY - Charles Joseph Breeden, 72, a former Amarillo resident, died Saturday, May 9, 1998. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in North Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. Mr. Breeden was born in Claremore. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a petroleum engineer. Survivors include his mother, Opal Breeden of Claremore; a friend, Dorothy Breeden of Oklahoma City; a son, Jeff Gibson of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Lisa Breeden of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Bill Breeden of San Angelo, Texas; and a sister, Shirley Taylor of Dickinson, Texas. Sallie Mae Alexander ERICK, Okla. - Sallie Mae Hill Alexander, 66, formerly of Erick, died Monday, May 18, 1998, in Bay City. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Buffalo Cemetery with Jeff Avery, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander was born and raised in Erick and attended school there. She later worked at the Erick hospital. She married Ray Alexander in 1958 at Sayre. They lived on a farm north of Erick before moving into town. Her husband died in 1973. She continued to live in Erick until moving to Sayre. She moved to Bay City in 1981. Survivors include a brother, Elmo Hill of Amarillo.
