Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Mueller officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Barbian was born in Dallas and raised in Abilene. He moved to Littlefield at age 9 and to Tulia at 13. He attended Houston schools. He married Agnes Bertelson in 1935 at Plainview. They were the first couple to marry at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After their marriage, he farmed east of Tulia for seven years. They moved to the Liberty community, where he farmed until his retirement in 1975. He moved to Plainview in 1980. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Barbian, and by a daughter, Janelle Barbian. Survivors include his wife; three sons, the Rev. Frank H. Barbian Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Cameron Barbian of Sherman, Ill., and David Barbian of Plainview; two brothers, Louis Barbian of Tulia and Tony Barbian of Kress; three sisters, Barbara Berner and Magdalene Young, both of Kress and Bertha James of Silverton; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Ophelia May Cowan Finney QUITAQUE - Ophelia May Cowan Finney, 92, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque with J.D. Nance officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque. Mrs. Finney was born in Lampasas County and graduated from Robstown High School in 1922. Until 1988 when she moved to Plainview, she lived in Gasoline community. She was a member of the Church of Christ for 77 years and was a homemaker. She married H.B. Finney in 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and by a son, R.J. Finney, in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Henryetta Kaiser-Price of Plainview; a brother, L.O. "Cotton" Cowan of Kingwood; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Tina Rexrode LOCKNEY - Tina Rexrode, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hawkins, retired Baptist minister, and the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Rexrode was born in Rush Springs, Okla., and attended school in College Mound, Okla. Her family moved to Floyd County in 1926 where she attended the Roseland schools. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, the Floyd County Home Demonstration Club and the Lockney Senior Citizens Association. She married Jewel Rexrode in 1935 at Levelland. He died in 1974. Survivors include a son, Joe Neil Rexrode of Lockney; two brothers, Ray Pinner of Bentonville, Ark., and Jim Pinner of Lockney; a sister, Birdie Ritchey of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Lyle Brown Lyle Brown, 81, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Terry Tamplen, pastor of Kingswood United Methodist Church, and Chris Ford, pastor of Kingswood United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Butler, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1929 from Tulsa, Okla. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor and was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Lavenia Connally in 1939 at Tulia. He was preceded in death by a son, Lyle A. Brown, in 1962. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lynn Brown of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Hildegard Ender Hildegard Ender, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Ron Lacy, officiating. Mrs. Ender was born in Strassburg, Germany. In 1957, she moved to Amarillo. From 1962 until her retirement in 1982, she was employed by St. Anthony's Hospital. She was a Lutheran. Survivors include a son, Siegfried Ender of Amarillo; two sisters, Helene Kuhn of Germany and Herta Dills of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at 1617 Goliad. Alpha A. Avent Alpha A. Avent, 81, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m Friday in SchoolerGordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Mrs. Avent was born in Felt, Okla. She was a hairdresser, member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church and a volunteer at the Craig Memorial Retirement Center. In 1997, she moved to Amarillo from Tanglewood. She married Jack H. Avent in 1946 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband and a brother, Lee Roy Odneal of Amarillo. Michael John Koopmann Michael John "Mike" Koopmann, 44, a former Amarillo resident, of Starke, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Paul Land officiating. Mr. Koopmann was born in Galveston and moved to Amarillo in 1965. He served in the National Guard and was a truck driver and a Baptist. He married Patricia Kelly at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Wright of Starke; three daughters, Alisha Cordell of Amarillo and Dauwn Barber and Misty Kelly, both of Starke; his mother, Frances Koopmann of New Braunfels; a brother, Dr. Bryan N. Koopmann of Austin; and two sisters, Cheryl Allen of Amarillo and Linda Cox of Edmond, Okla. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Affiliates; the American Heart Association; or a favorite charity. She worked as a nurse in Vernon; Texas A&M Hospital; and for Dr. Hale in Amarillo. She also had been an office manager for Larry G. Schulz, DDS. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She married Harry Lehmkuhl in 1976 at Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry Gene Schulz, DDS, of Amarillo; a daughter, Sharon Kay Tidwell of Amarillo; two sisters, Betty Ehlinger of Devine and Irene Messick of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico Marvin Dean Lewis CLOVIS, N.M - Marvin "Big M" Dean Lewis, 24, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. CST Friday in St. Luke Baptist Church at Muleshoe, Texas, with the Rev. Billy Ray Finch and the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery at Muleshoe by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Lewis was born in Muleshoe. He attended schools in the Muleshoe school district until his senior year. He was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, which is now St. Luke Baptist Church, in Muleshoe. He moved to Clovis six years ago and was a cook at ENMRSH. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Buhie and Waymon Palmer Sr. of Clovis; his father, Sammy Joe Finch; a brother, Waymon Palmer Jr. of Clovis; and two sisters, Christine Lewis and Lisa Harvey, both of Clovis; Oklahoma Elmer O. Shilling TEXHOMA, Okla. - Elmer O. Shilling, 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in James Church of God, 16 miles north of Texhoma. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Mr. Shilling was born south of Texhoma and attended Parson School. He moved with his family to Waverly, Kan., then returned to Texhoma after his marriage. A farmer and rancher, Mr. Shilling was employed at the Texhoma Livestock Commission for many years. He teamroped with his son and was a member of the National Old Timers Rodeo Association. He married Buena Marie Griffin in 1936 at Emporia, Kan. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sammy Shilling of Goodwell; a daughter, Elnor Harland of Texhoma; a sister, Ruby Baker of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; two brothers, William Shilling of Waverly and Dean Shilling of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Texhoma Cemetery Fund. Elsewhere Willie L. Cameron MOUNT PLEASANT - Willie L. Cameron, 91, of Omaha, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home with Steve Mathis and Wesley Vandever officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Cameron was born in Hollis, Okla. He was minister and member of Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Cameron. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Johnson Cameron; two sons, Doyle Cameron and Paul Cameron, both of Omaha; a brother, Luther Cameron of Dallas; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
