Hampton FRITCH - Bryan W. Hampton, 88, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel at Borger with the Rev. George Bach, pastor of St. Phillips Episcopal Church of Belen, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park by Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge 1355 AF&AM. Mr. Hampton was born in Peggs, Okla., and moved to Fritch in the early 1980s from Phillips. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Borger and worked as a shift foreman and supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 42 years. He was a member of Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge 1355 AF&AM. He married Frances Hubby in 1935 in Borger. She died in 1985. Survivors include a son, Bryan W. Hampton Jr. of Fritch; a daughter, Diane J. Dunn of Belen; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Lodge members will meet at the lodge one hour before service time. Elbert Jack Ironmonger PAMPA - Elbert Jack Ironmonger, 74, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Richardson, pastor of the Palisades Fellowship Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Ironmonger was born in Durango, Colo., and had lived in Pampa since 1930. He worked for Arthur Brothers as a painter for 18 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He married Athene "Penny" Branscum in 1986 at Panhandle. Survivors include his wife; a son, John Ironmonger of Artesia, N.M.; a daughter, Jacqulyn Thompson of Artesia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center of Amarillo. Joe W. Hoyle BORGER - Joe W. Hoyle, 74, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Bunavista Baptist Church with the Rev. Dempsey Cosper, pastor, and Doug Manning of Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Hoyle was born in Frederick, Okla., and had been a Borger resident for 25 years. He was an employee at the Phillips Warehouse and was a member of Bunavista Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. Survivors include his wife, Janie; two sons, Joe Mart Hoyle of Perryton and Jimmy Hoyle of Hartley; a brother, Claudius Hoyle of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pearl Wright PLAINVIEW - Pearl Wright, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in Denton. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Foote, pastor of North Side Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery in Floydada. Mrs. Wright was born in Turkey where she grew up and attended schools. She moved to Lockney in 1952 then moved to Plainview in 1972. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Thomas of Denton; a son, Doyle Wright Jr., of Lockney; two brothers, Ray Perkins of Cleburne and Jake Perkins of Washington D.C.; a sister, Lois Melton of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Lorene Essary Garrison PAMPA - Lorene Essary Garrison, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Burt, pastor of Barrett Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Garrison was born in Antlers, Okla. She had been a Pampa resident since 1938 and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Her first marriage was to Joe Essary in 1938 at Oklahoma. He died in 1957. She then married Truman Garrison in 1957 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1988, Survivors include two daughters, Jo Dean Wisdom of Pampa and Judy Golden of Wichita Falls; a sister, Nola Chapman of Duncan, Okla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Becky Lea Porter SPEARMAN - Becky Lea Porter, 17, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Spearman High School Auditorium with the Rev. Johnny Taylor of Trinity Fellowship Church and the Rev. Dan Carter officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Miss Porter was born in Perryton and was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church and its Youth Group. In 1997, she went on a mission trip to Mexico. Miss Porter was a senior at Spearman High School where she was in the GENLYNX program, the choir and worked on the newspaper and yearbook staffs. She was employed as a certified nurse's aide at Hansford Manor Nursing Home and had planned to pursue a career in nursing after graduation. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christy Re'nee Porter, in 1977. Survivors include her parents, Bill and Terry Porter of Spearman; a sister, Mandi Vargas of Spearman; her grandparents, Louis and Mary Miesner of Spearman and Howard and Margaret Porter of Spearfish, S.D. Amarillo Jesse Donald Chitty Jesse Donald Chitty, 67, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with H.L. Rowell, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Chitty was born and raised in Silverton. He moved to Tulia where he graduated from Tulia High School. He was employed as a transport driver of fuel and butane for several years and had lived in Amarillo for 22 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Alan Chitty. Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Beckwith, Debbie Chitty and Lisa Gutierrez, all of Amarillo, and Lori O'Kuley of Estes Park, Colo.; two sons, Donald Chitty of Tulia and Wayne Chitty of Oklahoma City; a sister, Winona Kirkland of Tulia; and two brothers, A.D. Chitty of Shreveport, La., and Billy Wayne Chitty of Lawton, Okla.; and 19 grandchildren. Elizabeth Elliston Scott Elizabeth Elliston Scott, 86, of Hastings, Neb., and a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with burial in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Presbyterian Church of Hastings with the Rev. Cheryl Ann Elfond officiating. Arrangements are by ButlerVolland Funeral Home of Hastings with local arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Scott was born in Dalhart. She attended the University of Colorado and graduated from West Texas State University. With her husband, she lived in Dalhart and Amarillo. Mrs. Scott taught B-17 mechanics at Amarillo Air Base during World War II and retired as an elementary teacher from the Amarillo Independent School District. She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, Alpha Kappa Delta Honorary, Amarillo Retired Teachers and Texas Retired Teachers. She moved to Hastings in 1994. She married Ben M. Scott in 1932. He died in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Eugenia "Jeanne" Harris of Hastings; a son, R. Harry Scott of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Helen Jane Casey Helen Jane Casey, 75, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Norbert J. Kieferie officiating. Mrs. Casey was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio. In 1985, she retired as a licensed vocational nurse from St. Anthony's Hospital. She was a Catholic. She married W.M. Casey in 1942 at Seguin. He preceded her in death in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Casey of Canyon and Myer Casey of Amarillo; four sisters, Mary Johns of Pittsburg, Pa., Agnus Furman of Mingo Junction, Marge McDonald of Brilliant, Ohio, and Babe Pasco of Steubenville, Ohio; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 2907 S. Pryor. They suggest memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Johncie L. Moreland Johncie L. Moreland, 71, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 555 E. Hastings with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. For 35 years, she taught Sunday school at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she also was a member. She was a member of Rainbow Rebekah No. 193 and Adventure FCE. She was a homemaker. She married Marvin Moreland in 1947 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dane Moreland of Amarillo and Dale Moreland of Pampa; a brother, Melvin Pickett of Amarillo; three sisters, Doris Lovorn of Taos, N.M., Edith Harrington of Poteau, Okla., and Marilyn Morrow of Amarillo; and six grandchildren. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lindsey Cemetery in Randolph by Lakewood Funeral Chapel of Lake Jackson. Mr. Cofer was born and raised in Memphis. He was employed as senior non-destructive testing technician for Dow Chemical Co. Survivors include his wife, Lori Beth Ford Cofer; three children, Brandy Cofer, Sarah Cofer and Courtney Sewell; his parents, Mel Roy and Ann Cofer of Memphis; and two brothers, Jerry Don Cofer and John Darrell Cofer, both of Amarillo.
