Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Windom, pastor of Power House Church of God in Christ in Killeen, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born in Scurry. He moved to Amarillo from Plainview in 1984. He retired as a hotel porter for the Holiday Inn in Amarillo and the Hilton Hotel in Plainview. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Johnson, and a son, Lee Thomas. Survivors include a son, H.K. Thomas of Plainview; three daughters, Cynthia Dianne Williams and Ruby Lee Williams, both of Lubbock, and Jessie Mae Murry of Plainview; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing this morning. The family will be at 201 E. Brazier in Plainview. James Dean Hunting James Dean Hunting, 46, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Bishop Bruce Tate of the Canyon Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Hunting was born in Van Nuys, Calif. He served with the Army for six years, spending three years in Germany. He attained the rank of sergeant. He had been a resident of Amarillo for 20 years. He was an automobile mechanic. He was a member and elder at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a three-year mission with the church in the Dallas-Fort Worth Mission. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Hunting of Beaumont, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Barret of Beaumont. The body will not be available for viewing. Lois Marie Harris Lois Marie Harris, 77, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Harris was born in Paris, Texas, and had been a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a member of Pavillard Baptist Church. She married Berry Talbert Harris in 1939 at Silverton. He died in 1985. Survivors include a son, Grover L. Harris of Amarillo; a brother, E.C. Carter of Duncanville; a sister, Fannie Black of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Anna Hatley Anna "Sis" Hatley, 65, of 313 Ramada Trail, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Michael Carter of River Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hatley was born in Amarillo and had been a lifetime Amarillo resident. She married Bill Hatley in 1948 at Amarillo. She was a self-employed hair stylist. She was a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Glenna Collins, Jan Webster, Sandy Broyles and Brenda Pagett, all of Amarillo; four brothers, Glenn Guinn of Amarillo, Bud Guinn and Merle Guinn, both of Santa Rosa, N.M., and Gene Guinn of Brownfield; four sisters, Viola Vigil of Los Lunas, N.M., Louise McFarlin of Amarillo, Bobbie Luibari of Santa Rosa and Margaret Whitmire of Washington; nine grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. New Mexico Lena Vaughan CLOVIS, N.M. - Lena Vaughan, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Kenna Community Church with the Rev. Bob Bell officiating. Burial will be in Kenna Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Whitney and moved to Elida, when she was a teenager. She married Kenneth B. Vaughan in 1936 at Portales. Three years after they married, they moved to Clovis. In 1939, they moved to the Kenna area, where they lived until 1968. From 1956 to 1968, Mrs. Vaughan drove the Kenna school bus. She also worked for the Denton Brothers Store in Kenna. In 1968 they moved to Portales, where she worked for Portales Valley Mills from 1972 until 1984. She retired as a secretary for Welch Brothers Trucking. Following their retirement, they returned to the L7 Ranch near Kenna, where they lived until Mr. Vaughan's death in 1988. Mrs. Vaughan moved back to Portales and then to Senior Residence Center. She later moved to a nursing home in Clovis. Survivors include four sons, Dale Vaughan and Buddy Vaughan, both of Clovis, Edward Vaughan of Plainview, Texas, and Ronnie Vaughan of Amarillo; a daughter, Fran Welch of Portales; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mildred Halverson OLTON - Mildred Halverson, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998. Private memorial services will be at a later date in Cassville, Mo. Cremation and arrangements were by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mrs. Halverson was born in Albuquerque, N.M. She moved to Olton in 1993 from Turner, Mont. She was a member of American Lutheran Church and American Lutheran Church Women. Wilbur, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, and the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of music and education, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Wilbur was born in Cambridge, Vt. He graduated from high school in Waterville, N.Y., and attended Morrisville Agriculture School in Morrisville, N.Y. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wilbur married Nell Karnes in 1948 at Dallas. He was a self-employed carpet layer for 25 years while living in Dallas. After moving to Wellington in 1962, he worked as a farmer for 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Ann DeMasi of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sons, Robert Charles Wilbur of Wellington, and Paul David Wilbur and Bryan Michael Wilbur, both of Amarillo; a sister, Martha Button of Perry, N.Y.; a brother, David Wilbur of Utica, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. James Harmon Ausbun Jr. PANHANDLE - James Harmon Ausbun Jr., 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of God in Hugoton, Kan. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd., in Amarillo. Mr. Ausbun was born in Hugoton and graduated from high school in Hugoton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Lois Marie Horner in 1942 at Hugoton. She died in 1996. Mr. Ausbun had lived in Panhandle for 17 years. He worked in Amarillo for Line Plumbing for many years before moving to Indiana. He retired to the Panhandle area in 1981. Survivors include his mother, Susie Ausbun of Hugoton; a son, Terry Ausbun of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Jimmie Lois Hubbard of Panhandle and Rhonda M. Jones of Amarillo; two brothers, Harold Ausbun of Denver and Gary Ausbun of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Freda Gustafson and Shirley Kramer, both of Hugoton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Grace Cross Baughman PLAINVIEW - Grace Cross Baughman, 79, of Lubbock, a former Plainview-area resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Plainview Memorial Park with Russell Harris, minister of Main Street Church of Christ in Lockney, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Baughman was born in Allmon, Floyd County. She grew up in Petersburg and Friona. She graduated from Friona High School and moved back to Petersburg. She married Frank Baughman in 1938 at Plainview. She helped her husband farm in the Irich community. Mr. Baughman died in 1978. Mrs. Baughman moved to Lockney in 1986, to Midland in 1989 and to Lubbock in 1990. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Lockney. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Heath of Lubbock and Carol Sue Jolley of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Charles L. Baughman of Canyon; a brother, Raymond Cross of San Diego; three sisters, Jessie Vines of Flippin, Ark., and Nell Cross and Lola Bell, both of Canyon; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. R.J. Sanderson EARTH - R.J. "Sandy" Sanderson, 81, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Broyles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by ParsonsEllis Funeral Home. Mr. Sanderson was born in Itawamba County, Miss. He was a resident of Lazbuddie for 31 years before moving to Earth. He was a retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He married Ethyl Connell in 1938 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1995. He married Mabel Loftis in 1996 at Kress. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Sanderson of Odessa and Bob Sanderson of Lubbock; a daughter, Linda Collins of Earth; two brothers, Gardener Sanderson of Earth and Verl Sanderson of Pleasanton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Gloria Lavon Kennedy HEDLEY - Gloria Lavon "Bonnie" Kennedy, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, and Mrs. Kennedy's nephew, the Rev. Johnny Hoggatt of Hedley, officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Paden, Okla. She lived in Skellytown for 15 years before moving to Hedley in 1956. She married James Roland Kennedy in 1953 at Pampa. She was employed at the Memphis Sheet Factory, Steve Owens Grocery in Wellington, Lancer Mobile Homes in Memphis and the Hedley Senior Citizens Center before retiring in 1990. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jimmy Earl Kennedy and Bill Dean Kennedy, both of Hedley; a sister, Norma McGee of Olton, Okla.; and a brother, Virgil Wilson of Borger. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo. William Dorsey Baker LOCKNEY - William Dorsey Baker, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lockney Cemetery with the Rev. Tommie Beck, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Baker was born in Lockney. He attended grammar school in Lockney and Peacock Military College in San Antonio. He graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tenn., in 1920. He grew up working in the Baker Mercantile Co. of Lockney, a dry goods and lumber store operated by his family. He served as president of First National Bank of Lockney from 1938 to 1945. He retired as a farmer and sheep rancher. Mr. Baker married Wanda B. Stinebaugh in 1933 at Fort Sumner, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dorsey Lynn Baker and William Norton Baker, both of Lubbock; two sisters, Mary Baker Phillips of New Braunfels and Helen Baker Gross of Port Lavaca; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity. Owen Fuller Gee PAMPA - Owen Fuller Gee, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Edwin M. Cooley, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be Monday in Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood with Dr. Cooley officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Gee was born in Lawrence County, Mo. He received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri. He had been a resident of Pampa for the past 38 years. He worked for Western Cartridge Co. for 10 years and was a chemical engineer and plant manager for Cabot Carbon Black plants in Big Spring and Pampa before retiring in 1976. Mr. Gee was a member and elder at First Presbyterian Church. He was an amateur photographer and a member of Amarillo Photographic Society. He was a former board member of Good Samaritan Christian Services. He married Charlie Neal Young in 1959 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Sides of Corpus Christi; a brother, Roy B. Gee of St. Joseph, Mo.; four grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Book of Remembrance at First Presbyterian Church. Mozelle Melton McClellan GRUVER - Mozelle Melton McClellan, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. McClellan was born in Avinger and grew up in the Methodist Children's Home in Waco. She graduated in 1940 as valedictorian of Waco High School. She married Elmo M. McClellan Jr. in 1943 at Fort Worth. She had lived in the Gruver area for 51 years. Mrs. McClellan was a registered nurse and served as superintendent of nurses at Osteopathic Hospital in Amarillo from 1945 to 1946. She was the Gruver school nurse from 1957 to 1982, when she retired. She participated in the Harvard University Nurses Health Study for 20 years. She was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a lifetime member of the Gruver PTA. Mrs. McClellan was president of the Hansford County Chapter of the American Cancer Society from 1957 to 1992. She received the American Cancer Society Lifesaver Award in 1981. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sandy Foster of Gruver; a son, Ronald Melton McClellan of Dumas; a brother, Seamon Melton of Warren, N.J.; two sisters, Hazel Rutherford and Mae Johnson, both of Grove City, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
